kind of regionals but also is the first to open in the nation. Headin up there for first skiing of the season next weekend, beyond excited.

When are your resorts scheduled to open?

trueee this. A basin and Loveland should be open in 1 week, 2 weeks max. Were due for a snowstorm friday night.
 
I have a hard time taking Abasin and Loveland's opening day seriously...but I mean does this really even count? Thats like the size of my backyard....
 
this place is like a pimple. if i had to live in minnesota i would have chosen snowmobiling as my winter sport of choice. Dont you guys have like ice fishing and stuff?
 
Have fun skiing on that stain...when December rolls around while your still skiing that we'll be skiing 3 ft of powder in the trees, bowls and steeps....I'm more than willing to wait to ski on real snow...and a real mountain.
 
Are you seriously that ignorant? Just cause we ski doesnt mean we cant do other things like ice fish, snowmobile, and play hockey. You've probably never even been to MN, the skiing here if fun as fuck. Nothing but a good day out with your buddies hot lapping like there is no tomorrow.
 
Lol i am ignorant i guess. HotLapping AKA Time on lift>Time Skiing, really isnt fun for me. id spend my time solely snowmobiling and ice fishing if i were you. Also you could try to find the yeti, capture a video on your phone (if they even have camera phones in Minnesota) and sell it to TMZ for money to move out West...
 
hot lapping in MN usually means lots and lots of tow rope sessions. I believe the inequality you are looking for is: ski time > rope time.

I love wild mountain but the "first open" claim is dubious when they have a 300 foot X 100 foot 3 inch deep band of snow. One night at 26 degrees and then they start claiming super hard. Even as a minnesotan you have to admit that any resort out west could do the same thing even earlier in the season.

With that said, I still cant wait to come back for fall break and shred some slush and dirt
 
as someone that has gone to wild mountain opening day in the past (day before halloween!) this is pathetic. even by their standards.

until they get the chair going it doesnt count. 50ft of vert with a rope tow does not an opening day make. also, $18 wtf?!?

I will be waiting for the first legit dump here in Utah before earning my turns. :)
 
Are you really gonna hate on Minnesota that hard because we don't have mountains, and we're excited that we can actually ski before mid December this year? Jesus Christ, just let us be happy with this, and jealous of you and your big mountains all on our own, you don't have to tell us that these hills are shitty compared to the west. But it's all we've got up here. So Piss off.
