Why You Should Like Barack Obama

By outward, I mean home. Or to other locations besides Iraq. Depending on length of tours of duty.
 
That's why it's hard to campaign as a senator: you're never in W.D.C. for the votes. It's the same for everyone... not even news.

he's not going to be a dick and constantly be bashing her and her campaign, only when he needs to. nowhere in there does it say that he agrees with her on any issues, only that he admires her dedication to her own views.
 
You really don't know how to make a political argument, do you? That quote is an expression of respect for a senatorial colleague and fellow candidate. You don't have to hate everyone in the race with you. Why should you?

that's an absurd comparison, you're comparing respecting a fellow politician to admiring a dictator's love for genocide.

"i admire you for your passion in supporting ron paul" is more on the dot, it doesn't mean that i'm going to support paul with you, but i admire your passion for it.

and even still, this all comes back to being suspicious and paranoid of government conspiracies. i'm not saying you shouldn't question the government or its politicians, but ask questions that aren't useless.

I like Obama because he embodies what I want to see in a candidate in that he doesn't want to be a part of the shit slinging and poll campaigning everyone else uses.

That's where he and Hillary are very different. One spreads the same message day in and day out, while the other changes her mind or remains very vague in her position to best run the polls.

The speech was excellent. He distanced himself from Hillary and others without resorting to bashing or disrespect. He spoke as a true uniter, as someone you can actually trust. He has an air of believability about him, which I find extremely valuable.
 
ugh but how can you see eye to eye with him about pakistan? i feel like that every single time i hear someone rant about how we're still in iraq because bush is fucking us, they are also a democrat (as expected), but more so often an obama supporter, who had no idea about his pakistan plans before i mention them.

its pretty apparent that this thread is a shitshow. its a canadian (a fantastic one at that) in a complete pissing contest with some kid new to this site that ive only seen posting in threads about ron paul. none about skiing for that matter (but since im buying into most of pauls ideals, im obligated to like this kid as well).

Obama 's campaign tried to stage a money raising event similar to Ron Pauls 4.3$ Million dollar one day cash in.

Im sorry but a candidate does not have real 'grassroots' support unless those people are willing to donate their own money to him. Just because you may agree with some of Obama's idealogical stances, does not mean you really support him. Seriously, all 30 some million that Obama has in my opinion, has all come from pharmaceutical companies and other big corporations who are just in his pocket. I do not want a president who will answer to these greedy coporations.

You people need to actually look at the candidates and look at the ones that people are supporting with their own real individual money. Just because a candidate has alot of money, does not mean he is the best. Corporations know this, so they just inflate the fuck out of their favorite idiots bank to make it appear they are really great!

 
whoever said that the best candidate is the one with the most money? no one. a lot of obama's support comes from the younger demographic like college students, which may play some role in the lack of individual funding since we all know college students rarely have that much cash to give. being a college student myself, i've donated what i can, which is understandably not that much. and again with the corporations..is it that big of a deal to you that some companies support obama? i went over it before, so i'll just remind you that the reason pharm companies back obama is because his policies will benefit their company, not because they want to control him. other than that i don't have much to say about that lack of donating, it sucks to see. but like you said, money doesn't determine the quality of the candidate.
 
Hillary Clinton should run for Mayor of New Orleans, b/c it is exactly what thay city needs, a huge dike.
 
i didnt read any of the reaplys to this thread....so sorry if this has aready been said a 100 times but you should vote for him because he's not Hilary clinton
