Why Univ. of Utah is the best school in the country if you ski.

Everyone knows about the proximity and quality of skiing in Utah. One thing I think that is overlooked is the quality of education available at the U. This articlehttp://www.economist.com/node/18284013 explains why Mormon culture breads success and I'm of the opinion that this attitude of "self improvement" can be gleamed by non-mormon at the school. On the other hand as long as you have a pulse, they'll let you in, so there's something for everybody. Also tuition is pretty cheep.

Dude, fuck that. The University sucks. Utah sucks, the girls suck, the academia sucks, and worst of all, THE SKIING SUCKS. Nobody should move here EVER, it fucking SUCKS. Stay the fuck out it
 
Actually, this guy has it right. I lied. Every time I leave my front door and try to walk to class, I am overcome with guys in white shirts and black ties throwing their God books at me. I try to run away, but they just catch up! You can try tazing them and pepper spray, but it's like they are immune.
 
True, the ski transplants are starting to make LCC pretty unbearable. I think it's about time to get a solitude pass until that gets blown up by crowds.

I'm sure for skiing it's pretty much the best place to go. But education wise, University of Utah fucking blows im sorry
 
the education is pretty good contrary to popular belief. the only reason people haven't really found out about it yet is because most of the general population wants nothing to do with the state of utah.
 
everybody gets super stoked on these schools near big mountains but how many of you actually get to ski more than 2 times a week? i know while im in school i love the convenience of night skiing allowing me to ski 6 or 7 days a week even if the actual skiing isnt nearly is good
 
utah has one of the worst k-12 school systems in america. utah kids are the 46th dumbest in the nation. the mormon culture may breed success in the fact that if you are mormon in utah your boss might be mormon and hire you based on the fact that you are mormon. or im sure the church has job placement.

But that's ok. Everyone should head to the coolest scenes, where they can wear the biggest clothes, and ski the tracked out leftovers from the other bazillion people trying to get after the same little bits of backcountry. Colorado and Utah are the way to go.
 
Brighton and Park City both have night skiing....
University of Utah is solid as they go, bit of a commuter school so there isnt that much to do on campus, the dorms are boring as fuck. Liquor laws blow a little but it's not too bad really. If you don't have a group of friends that ski and/or friends living off campus to hangout and do stuff with you will hate it here.
It's not a huge party school and you gotta know people to find out where parties are etc..
Overall I enjoy it here and I go skiing 3-4 days a week usually weather depending.
 
its funny because the u of u is one of the best medical research schools in the world and the business school is getting much higher ratings as well and will soon be in the top 25 in the nation...aside from an academic standpoint it is very easy to ski more than two days a week right now im taking 14 credits and only have class on tuesday and thursday. the u definitely can cater to whatever schedule you have in mind there are so many schedule options..also the skiing is incredible people always hate on it being crowded and shit and its because they ski in-bounds all the time or are full time park city skiers which i pitty...if you want to get a great education and have a good time on the slopes the u of u is right for you

I also forgot to put an article before non-mormans, I had a feeling that I was going to fuck something up and undermine my whole point. Anyway, to the person who suggested that Mormon success is a result of connections I think you would have a hard time explaining why mormons dominate prestigious graduate programs and government positions.

You have a shitty weed and it is not a felony to get caught with weed, no idea where you live but it sure as fuck isnt Utah / Salt Lake. Unless you live in a basement somewhere and have no knowledge of any local laws
