so i know that mogul skis and stuff don't use twin tips, but why aren't all skis twin tips? like the fischer ranger, those are beasts and I feel like they could benefit being twin's
Twins are also generally easier to release from a turn (obviously with a sharper tune this can be changed) but when skiing slalom for example, you don’t want to release from a turn. You want maximum edge grip and a sharp, square tail helps to maximize edge hold. Twins are awesome and 100% serve their purpose but there are applications where a directional tail is more beneficial
ooooo that explains it. i’ve skied both and i like carving but also love the poppy feeling of twin tips i guess my carving style doesn’t go as far as the pros who are using carving skis
