Why New England Is The Best Region

why all this hatin on other regions? im from maine, the most east coast you can get. i love living in in NE and im super content with it but ill admit the east coast doesnt have everything and neither does the west coast. argue all you want but its not going to get anyone anywhere. just go shred...

Exactly why they put all the boring shit up there like the stock exchange (I don't think it fits into NE but it's close enough) That's why all the theme parks that are good are in California and look anyone flying somewhere to go skiing is not going skiing on the East, most likely Utah, Colorado, and maybe California (all the Japs come here). East coast sucks.

This has to be one of the most stupid threads out there. Mostly because of some of the people posting. I live on the East Coast and love it, but I also love shredding out west. The East and West are so different that comparing them is kinda like trying to compare a desert to better a meal. The two just aren't compared. Both of them have so many different facets to them that you can't generalize them as one thing or another. East Coast ranges from Florida, to NYC, to NE. Although I'm pretty sure we're mostly talking about NE, it still has a huge diversity of types of people and lifestyles, as does the west. Some people may like the East for the same reason as others hate it and the same goes for the West. It's all a matter of opinion and what you like to do.

Definitely not the best region
small mountainslittle powtoo many peopletoo many people telling you how to live your lifetoo rainytoo humidneed i go on?

East coast pow is sick

And there really aren't that many people the farther north you get.

VT only has about 620,000 as of 2005

Cities are bound to have a ton of people.

NE is just more condensed because that's were the original colonists settled (along with the rest of the east, don't get all history on me, I know Virginia was settled first etc.)

I really don't think it's too rainy at all. (It may be more humid and rainy than you're used to but to someone whose lived there their whole lives it's not bad, it's just how it's always been)

I don't really know why you said that too many people telling you how to live your life. I do not find that true. I think that it would be about the same everywhere. I don't know where in NE you're talking about, but it's def not where I live.

west coast pow is realy nice and u guys get a shit load of it but east coast pow is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better in the sense that we only get to ski some real good pow days 5-6 times a year tops maybe more maybe less and when we get those days there so much fun

I agree with that in the sense that we appreciate powder days more IMO. We don't get as many so when we get them it's like the best thing ever. Sure I'd love to be able to ski powder every day, but I feel like it makes those days the days you tell your kids about, the days that you will never forget.

Even if that were true, and assuming you weren't making a feeble attempt at being a smartass, its still fewer than New England. The population of the Boston area alone is more than the entire state of Colorado.

you just said that it wasnt just you who thinks colorado is the best state, it was you and the four million people living there.
therefore, would that not make 4 million 'pretentious pricks' living there, because all of you think youre better than everyone else?
you wrote the book yourself homie.

I did write the book...but unfortunately no one taught you how to read it.

I never said anywhere that everyone in Colorado is like me or thinks the same way I do. Thats just your horrible reading comprehension at work that fails to detect any note of sarcasm.

I'm proud of my state and think it's a great place, and the vast majority of people here love it too. If they didn't, they probably wouldn't be living here.

Since you still fail at reading comprehension, I'll write it in the form of a play.

QUINNY:

"...We also don't have nearly as many pretentious pricks out here, they mostly out hang out east or in Cali..."

GUNSNFUCKKKKK:

(Enters stage right.)

(Glares at Quinny)

"Says the kid claiming his state is better than everyone elses."

QUINNY:

(Ponders for a moment. Where does this generalization come from that makes him a direct refection of his entire state? Since he was referring to the quantity of "pretentious pricks", he logically assumes that is the case)

(Poses a question, in a not-so-serious tone.)

"I = the 4 million people living here?"

(Pauses briefly, then replies to his own question with a thinly disguised sarcastic tone.)

Okay.

GUNSNFUCKKKKK:

(Expression changes quickly from certain confidence to defensive anxiety when he realizes he no longer has an argument. He quickly tries to come up with something clever to say.)

"Plays are gay, Shakespeare was a fag."

QUINNY:

(Laughs.)

(Fully realizes his adversary is a complete idiot beyond any prior doubts. He smugly replies.)

Nice comeback. Whats next? A few of those "Your mom" jokes?

you seem like a really fun person can we plz be friends? i need someone to correct my grammar and make me feel lower then them

All you east coasters can argue all day about how great New England is and thats great it means less development in the west. It really sucks when people come out here and tear up land and build houses where wildlife habitat, farms, and forests used to be. Great population sucks in general in my opinion. So keep thinking the east is greater and stay on the east coast.

i'm not saying the midwest is the best but part of it are really bomb

I like how the Easterners are bragging about how they enjoy the pow more than us and we're not grateful of our 20ft.+ snowfall every year. I bet they're just assuming this and they've never even skied on the west. They say it's something to tell the grandkids/kids. Yeah when I finish my completely untracked line down our mountains rather steeper runs with a face covered in snow or a sick pillow line I think I'll be telling that to my grandkids too. We enjoy it just as much we just get to enjoy more of it more often. All the stuff about the East's parks improving a lot, just remember the West is improving at the same time too. All the best parks are West- Mammoth (personal fav), Park City, Breck, Keystone, Whistler, that's just a few of them. I'm sure if you came and lived West you would much rather continue living out here. My dad lived on the East for 22 years of his life, moved out west, didn't ski for a while and still was like, fuck the east California is so much fucking better. All his friends live back East and he laughs because they have no clue how much better he has it than they do. Really, I'm gonna let you know right now, California isn't really a prime state for pow, not bad, but not as great as Colorado and Utah. Not everyone in California is a prick it just depends where you live. Bay Area people fucking piss me off though, they can be such bitches. I go to Northstar and probably half or more of the Tahoe gapers are there on my ass in the lift line and trying to cut you off. I tell em' off good though, it's a real insult when someone 5'4" chews them out in front of the rest of the 20 minute lift line occupees. I go to Squaw, not nearly as many gapers, no racers go and ride the park chairand the jump lines are great there, not to mention the terrain is crazy. mammoth is the best though, open for a long time, good terrain, and a kickass park. So I'll stop my bitching now and hope this has proved NE sucks dicks.

sorry guys here is more of the "mid-worst"...

yeah, i had a good weekend last weekend. i might not be skiing yet, but if i cant ski this is where id'e want to be....

this is the stupidest fucking thread . if i was funny it might not suck so much but everyone here is taking it seriously and thinks their own home is the best.

Grow a pair.

But seriously, California owns all.

agreed. everyone who doesnt live in California hates on us cause their jealous cause we got everything from mounains, to lakes, to desert, to beaches, to the best ganja in the world, to really attractive women(moreso than most places). Way more liberal laws=dont get fucked as hard for partying or smokin weed.(depending on where you are but for the most part).

Weather is nice dont have to deal with tornados or hurricanes, or Blizzards at 20 below.

The resorts you ski at would not exist if it weren't for "boring stuff" like the stock exchange.

This thread shouldn't have been creted in the first place...

I live in New England & love it, but you're smoking some crack kid. I'd take the mountains from Colorado and westward ANY day over ours.

I especially love living in the midatlantic region with our 3 month ski seasons and the rain storms that were supposed to be snow but it was too warm.

I actually have skied in the west and i really do enjoy it. In fact I'm looking at colleges out west cus the skiing there is so sick. When I went to Whistler last year during spring break we had powder every day. It snowed SO much ( Late March) I remember a few lines really sick powder lines, but a lot of it just melded together into powdery awesomeness (not a bad thing) On the East Coast I seem to remember the powder days better, because they are less frequent. It does not make them "better" it just makes them more special to me, maybe not to everyone, but to me that's how it is. I also never said we "enjoy" the powder more. It has nothing to do with enjoyment, because as long as we're skiing we enjoy it. I'm saying we appreciate those days more because they are less frequent. Of course that is just my opinion. I can recall many epic powder days in the east. I can recall numerous runs perfectly. I can not recall the powder days in Whitsler as well, because they did not stand out as much. I'm not saying that this makes East coast powder days "better" I'm saying it makes them more memorable. And sure you may have the privilige of enjoying powder more often then us because you get more. But in no way do you enjoy skiing more or enjoy powder more, and in no way do we enjoy skiing or powder more than you.

I really hate to make it us vs. you, but it is the easiest way of getting my point across.

I think this thread is really stupid because there is no best region. Only best regions for certain people. For some, the East coast may be the best place on Earth, for others it may be the West coast, for others it may be the mid-west, for others the far North, and even the South for some.

NE doesn't suck and neither does anywhere else, it's all a matter of preference. Nothing in your post gives me reason to believe that NE sucks. Nor does it give me reason to think the West sucks. It just shows me that you like the West better than the East.

I hope my rant helped clear this up.

^^ Good point and a lot of it is personal preference. Some people may have a job where they're making a bunch and that might be why they like it more or they're just sticking up for the region they've lived in for their whole life as I did. So yeah it is very opinionated as you said and I know this shouldn't have been created.

thats not the west coat except for washington. the rest is the western part of the country.

Yea Denver might be sweet if you moved from the east coast, but its really not that cool. You're calling people out as pretentious pricks when your denver crew of arcteryx wearing, whole foods shopping, a basin patronizing cock suckers talk down on everyone else. that isn't hypocritical.

yo i have been out west its great but i would much rather rock the east coast cause even though we have less pow, our parks are better
