Why I hate New Yorkers....

Every customer i've ever had from new york is rude, pushy, impatient, and usually kinda dumb.

jus sayin.

damn your totally right, because every single person that lives in NY is like that.

I've noticed that a lot of people from new york are really assertive which seems to bother a lot of laid back people living out west. It's not really being pushy or rude, it's just being really straightforward with what they want

oh yeah, i mean city folk. my bad. sorry all you non-city new yorkers. i live with two of your kind i know how sensitive you get about being lumped in with them.

and sorry i didnt elaborate more. im at work and we are totally swamped with people from NYC on vacation and its a non-stop barrage of "oi-vay im seriously in a serious hurry can you please put me in front of everyone else in line" and "please shop for me cuz im way to busy to shop for myself"

I seriously had a woman ask me what the difference was between a small and medium womens shirt today. im like, the small is smaller.

it just gets frustrating and anyone who has ever worked in a resort town knows what im talking about. Texans, Massholes, 212's and the like. Anyone got good stories to share about these people?

"I'd say on a scale of one to ten Im a type 9 skier."

i live in one of the biggest second home destinations for new yorkers, and i have to concur with the OP on this one. of course there are some nice people from new york, but in the summer my town is overrun by new yorkers wearing Hawaiian shirts.

The best way to identify racism, bigotry, etc, is seeing the word "all" or "every" applied to a specific group of people.

The best way to see a bunch of people with no sense of humor is to post something on the internet.

oh the wrath of upstate newyorkers.

You're an idiot and you're from Colorado.

That must mean that everyone from Colorado is an idiot, right?

i was thinking to myself "this thread is skirting the line of being erased because it has potential to be abused" and BOOM, shit got abused.

Why New Yorkers hate you....
youre a stereotyping douche...
but in all seriousness im from upstate new york and hate *most* people from the city. they all move up to albany and turn the place into jersery shore.

I live in northwest CT about twenty minutes from the NYC border. I have literally had new yorkers park on my lawn and walk around my yard to look at the trees. I have a wooden fence around my entire property. Most of them are pricks.

Most of your customers? How do you know the nice ones arn't from new york either? do you ask EVERY customer "hey where are you from?"

Funny, that was a quote from a NY-er we have written on the back wall at my shop.

But if youre asking I kick ass.

And to answer another question, I work in a ski shop / retail store in the heart of Colorado gaper-country, so yes, I often make small talk and ask where people are from. Thats how I know what states tend to harbor assholes and which ones arent so bad.

I'll even put up a top ten list from best to worst

1(best, nicest, most polite) Minneapolis

2 St.Paul

3 Chicago

4 Nashville

5Tahoe region

6 LA (can be hit or miss, most people hate LA enough that they relax and chill when they are on vacation)

7 Dallas (and Texans are the worst drivers, its like they've never seen a fuckin roundabout before)

8 Houston

9 Whole state of Jersey. Dont claim Jersey Shore is nothing like Jersey. It is and youre pissed.

10 NEW YORK CITY. your city is such a hell hole that it has ruined your soul. you are always in a hurry and you think you are the most important person alive cuz you come from a place known for being jerks. You dont say hi to anyone cuz youre afraid they're gona mug you. Youre cheap. Youre not polite. Maybe one or two of you have some redeeming qualities, but I have never met someone from NYC i'd hang out with personally.

See, im not a total hater. I have my reasons, and...oh my god... i made some generalizations. i forgot we nevvvver do that on NS.

My bad I didnt realize you have spent enough time here to realize what it's like here.

And I also didn't realize we've met before since you know so much about my personality.

Ok, I have to go now. I have to walk to the subway before it gets dark. I dont want to get mugged.

Have a nice day!

Yeah you should see the city people when they try to ski. They are the biggest gapers of all time (normally).

hahahaha I love how everyone in this thread just thinks about New York City, that's just like me saying everyone in Michigan are stupid just because there's a few dumb people in Detroit.

Northern new jersey away from all the italian areas is literally nothing like the jersey shore. If you have not been to the jersey shore, you wouldnt know. Seaside, nj where it is filmed is nothing but tourists and teenagers. At night there are more guidos out, but not as portrayed by the show. The people you see at your shop most likely are the snobby assholes from nj which i say is a lot, but dont go and say our whole state is like that because it isnt at all. Oh and learn to grow the fuck up and deal with it

bew york (the city) is imo one of the most interesting and exciting places you can possibly be, ditto for the people who live there. douches gonna douche, wherever they live.

I hope this is a joke.

1. New Jersey is nothing like the Jersey Shore. I'm in NJ ever week and it's just like any other state. You have awesome people, and you've got douchebags (refer to OP). There are also REALLLLLY rich parts of New Jersey. It's not just a giant beach filled with orange, muscular people.

2. Anyone from NYC could kick your scrawny Colorado ass. The city is baller as fuck. I've never once been there and thought I was going to get mugged.

youre from kent, i hale from pawling 10 mins away in N,Y kents a cool ass town too

but if you havent lived near nyc/worked/done business in NYC you cant understand...NYC is on a completely different level than the rest of the state and even country, everything is faster and majority of it is strictly business, if you cant handle it......dont visit and dont live there basicly thats all there is too it

Ok ok, well, you might be mostly right, but i do have to say this...

both of my roommates are from upstate new york, and they are so bitter about NYC being douches that they, themselves are douches. and we have a guy in the company whos from upstate too, and he's known for how bitter, sarcastic, and downright mean he is. Im no idiot, i know jerks come from everywhere. I also know that everyone I know cringes when they hear that tell tale NY accent. Theres no doubt in my mind that a NYC-er could kick my ass, thats why im glad i can ski faster than them and most of the ppl from NYC that come here are gapers.

jeeze everyones so sensitive.

Your arrogance amazes me. You clearly haven't been to New Jersey besides seaside or another beach in the summer.
