why does east coast skiing suck?

Because there is no snow yet in the east coast.

We do alot of fun shit out on the east coast too, you ever rode your skis right into the lodge with no one yelling at ya? have ya??

that really sounds like a blast man, i should probably come over right know so i can ski in the lodge instead of all this deep wonderful, light powder, man i wish i could be on the east coast right know.

Everytime I think we are over these stupid east coast west coast posts one always comes up. Hey Jizack who cares what the east coast is like, ski your powder and be happy. I ski the west but i give these east coast guys alot of credit. Plus skiing ice gives you really good experience amd makes you a better skier.

Unity....... word up!!!

i dont think skiing anywhere sucks. it is just more fun in some places.

we just learn to use it to our advantage, say if you have an ice storm out in the west what would you do? sit there and die? uh huh becuase you havent experienced it b4, we did, so take that!

App.....that has to be one of the most intelligent and insightful things you have said. Werd bro.

it's not worse in the east, it's just different. We're used to the ice, whereas the western riders are adapted to the pow. All you have to do is adapt.

dude, one time, I snorted ketchup off of a pizza. that sucked.

Oh yeah, republicans suck, you right winged conservative bastards, have fun burning in hell!!!!

yeah, you get used to the ice and it makes the one week a year you get to ski out west even more special.

coming from the east coast and moving to montana, and hopefully mt. hood soon, the east coast is not close to as dope. skiing in the lodge like will said is dope, but we can only do that at our mountain. we def. had hella fun in the east, but you can have more fun out here and not ruin your skis. there is hardly ever snow in the east, or hardly any new snow anyways, and even up near jay peak the terrain does not compare to the east, even if the snow does. my opinions....

yeah no good skiers come from the east coast, just shitty guys like rory will, andy woods, doug coombs, and dave swanwick just to name a few

hey patg, there are TONS more good skiers that came from Ontario (hehe - I said came). Dan Threadway and Jeff Holden are from Ontario. Hugo Harrison is from the Chic Chocs in Quebec (right by where Cedric lives). the best jumpers in the world (yes - when i say the world i mean it) come from Ontario-Quebec region. So the east might be lacking in hard terrain, but if you go off the trail, and make the most of what you got you can have a kick ass time while getting really good (how's my grammer on that last sentence?). Sure you might break a bunch of skis while doing it, but hey. Oh, and one more thing that rules about the east coast is the population. There are tons more people on the right coast than the left, ya, that means more crouded runs, but that also means tons more people to hang out with on the hill and session the park with. Take NS.com for example. the large majority of this site is from the east, and a lot of those people have met and skied togeather before, and will more this winter. So please, please, don't bash the east coast. I mean, how often do you hear someone say 'west coast sucks, the real skiings over on the east coast'. Sometimes, but those who say that have just never been, or they're in denial. The east coast is a good place to grow up.

why does everyone have to always be hating on East Coast skiing. Skiing is Skiing, no matter where you do it, like gayness AppSkier said its fun no matter where youre at. We might not have a 100th of the terrain of most places in the country but I guarantee you that we have just as much if not more fun than all you guys. We have to be more creative when were skiing because we dont have as much to do. In the ONE park skiers are allowed at in NC where me AppSkier, Drew, FISHinSHIT, and bulldog are from we had 1 have decent table last year and 1 good rail, correct me if Im wrong Drew. But we certainly had as much fun on those two things last year as you guys had with your 15 tables or however many and however many rails you guys have out west. SKIING is SKIING. quit hating.

i've always wondered where the hell Ontario was. 'cause thing about this. New York is concitered the east and Ontario is north of it, but than Ohio is concidered part of the Midwest is it not? And we are north of that too... and Ottawa is right across the river from Quebec (in some sports Ontario is actually south of quebec) and Quebec is concidered east coast.........SO WHAT THE HELL IS ONTARIO? I'll just call it the great lakes region from now on.

east coast does suck for skiing but it makes you a better skier so when you do

go out west your ready for nice soft pow also so many good skiers come from

the east what about Philou,Vinnie,Raps,Jp, JF, most of the Canadians are from

montreal right.

Donuts is there anything they can't do.-homer simpson

mike nick too. where is evan raps from?

the only reason east coast skiing sucks is because it's so damn expensive. we've got great glades. skiing in the east is completely different from anything in the west. we might not be powderhounds but we sure as hell know how to manage the ice. the east gives so many oppertuinties to improve your skill. the conditions change constantly.

Dude, I understand that eastcoast riders adapt to the ice and shit, but you got to admit, skiing in Pow is so mch better. The ice is what makes the east coast bad, and even if you dont find it to be a problem, it still isn't than riding pow.

Good Old English

if evan raps was from brooklyn, how far was it for him to a ski hill? it seems like it would be a while and wouldnt be worth it.

Wicked = very

Mint = very good, cool, fun, whatever

EAST COAST rules except for the places out west that get 10' of snow between TDAY and today.

Grow up in the east, then move out west, the best thing you could ever do for your skiing.

If anyone think's that skiing on the east coast sucks, they clearly haven't been to the right mountains..

Go to Stowe, Vermont, Jay Peak, Vermont, Le Massif Quebec, MSA Quebec and you will get some sick days - deep snow and amazing trees.Especially Jay Peak, VT - spend a season there and you'll have some of the best days skiing of your life.

If you are into park, then hit up Mount Snow, Vermont, Loon Mountain, New Hampshire, Avila Quebec to name a few.

Believe me sir, skiing on the east coast does NOT suck. So we have to put up with variable conditions and crazy weather. That's all part of it the culture.

i don't understand how you kids from the east coast can complain about your shit. My friends and I road tripped to the east coast, and it was sick. We rode at Killington for a few days, and then finished up at Mt. Snow. I thought both places were so ill. The fucking parking lot at Killington is bigger than most ski hills in Michigan, so stop complaining.
