Why do people like Tim Tebow?

Honestly the real question is how can you not like Tim Tebow? He's a great guy and a great player. He gets bashed all the time for his religion and takes it, he isn't a douche to people even thought people are douches to him. Sure he might not be the best QB in the league, he might not be doing as well as he was expected by some people to go. But the guys got a good attitude and he'll work so that maybe someday he will be an elite QB. Guarantee the reason why 50% of people hate Tim Tebow is just because other people say they do and they follow along. He's a good guy, nobody gives him credit for it. He's much better than a lot of QB's out there and he's a rookie. Get off his dick people.

He seems like a good dude but he lost his prime in his college years. If he were to get drafted a year or 2 earlier, He would be a damn good QB. He'd be a decent TE but not QB. You're not gonna go far in the league with 60 yards of passing per game.

everyone thinks that this is his girlfriend, but its not and never was.

Tebow sucks btw. its the NFL, it may take teams a little while to adjust their defensive schemes but he's not going to be the guy who rewrites the way the game is played. He has some use but is definitely not a starter.

Um, no. He has proven on several occasions that he does exactly that.

Example: After deservedly earning a third string spot on the team after preseason, Tebow told interviewers all about how his childhood dream of becoming an NFL QB was "grabbed away from him" and how he should be the starter.

He said that after he played in 4 fucking games against pitiful opponents the year prior. He might as well have said "I feel completely entitled to the starter spot even though the coaches noticed I throw like a middle school second string". He has no vision, no accuracy, and terrible habits, but the reason I strongly dislike Tim Tebow is surprisingly because of his attitude.

Who cares what he did at Florida, this is a professional league. Players earn their spots and the respect that goes with it. Watch him in the huddle and compare that to other young QB's. Even Ponder looks like he owns the Vikings, like a leader when he's in the directors seat. Not tentative and unsure.

He's not a rookie, his numbers have shown he's one of the worst QB's in the league, and people hate him accordingly.

You don't win Super Bowls and earn million dollar contracts for being a "good guy". Shut the fuck up with that stupid crap.

I'm not gonna put Mr. Rodgers under center just because he's a nice guy, give me a break.

Tebow is a terrible QB, he should be placed in a position where Denver can utilize his rushing ability and the Broncos should try to pick up Nick Foles (or someone like that) for QB next year and STICK WITH HIM FOR A SEASON AND STOP LETTING TO THE FUCKING FANS MAKE FRANCHISE DECISIONS.

Did you ever watch him in college? He had the same bad habits that haunt him now, and announcers constantly mentioned that they would be a huge liability in a professional league. People saw this coming, that's well known in the sporting world. Look at the Broncos record or decisions at the QB position though....

Ha, Senor chang got deleted. I like Tebow. If someone doesn't like him because of his religious beliefs then you're an dick.

Yeah that isn't that many. Not even a full season worth, most rookies(not making the mistake of calling Tebow one again haha) don't do amazing there rookie season.

Dude you are sooooo cool, you can swear, can you teach me? Mr. Rodgers? can you at least be realistic with your arguments? Its not like Mr. Rodgers was a Heisman candidate, Tebow proved himself in college and its only a matter of time before he does it in the NFL. Sure he'll probably never be a Brees or a Brady, But he could be a Vick.

He works hard and the harder he works the better he will get, the guy is willing to do it.

Like Kanadian said, Get off Tebow's dick man.

I guess I must have missed those comments. To me, these seem like comments that reflect self-confidence, which I'm OK with. No hate to you at all, but I think Cutler and Orton had much worse attitudes.

I think the expectation from Broncos fans was that Tebow would start this season, right or wrong. Then there was the controversy and Orton was starting. Many rookie QB's would throw a fit and demand to be traded so they could start somewhere. If Tebow bitched a little, at least he didn't piss off the coaching staff and he kept working. As the resident NS old fart, I actually remember when Elway started, and it wasn't pretty. Give Tebow a chance.

I agree completely with this. He doesn't seem like a great quarterback but he seems like a good person and I don't understand the hate. It's not like he asked to be on espn 24/7 so you can't really hate him for that.

We aren't hating Tebow as a guy or even as a player. We are hating Tebow as QB. His throws are absolutely awful. You'd think somebody who spends so much time running could throw on the run to at least an area but it's just garbage. What pissed me off about watching Jamarcus Russell play was that he'd throw a deep ball and overthrow the guy by like 3 inches. He was always so close but he still sucked. Tebow isn't even close when he throws. It's just awful to watch

college success =/= nfl success

tebow is not as fast as vick, meaning he will always have to bulldozer one defender at least to make his runs count.

that is not what a 12-16 mill/year QB will be allowed to do.

I agree that college doesn't mean you'll be good in the NFL, but it do think it means you have potential to be good in the NFL. Sure Tebow isn't as fast as vick, but he can still run. And as far as having to "bulldozer one defender" Tebow is pretty huge man.

i was talking about a better, not HOF passer with athletic ability.

rivers, brady and manning all probably run 5,3 40-yd dashes and that obviously wont work for my theory.

but to have a legit passer with some skills (and overall skill not too big so you dont have to pay him 18 mill) added to tebow could give defenses some fits within realistic salary cap assumptions.

and cassel is that. he is a legit starter and can run a LITTLE.

They're running the same fucking stuuuupid read-option they ran in Florida. I'm gonna be so happy when he gets into the open field and tries to buck Ed Reed. It's gunna be sooo sick. As for that stupid read option, you know what he's going to do he's a glory whore. Stack the box and hit him so hard he regrets he went pro. He pulls it every time with that option, he had like 20 running attempts last game?

You didn't read a word I said and you know very little about professional football, so I'll ignore your inability to detect a facetiously laid out discussion. The things he lacks are considered to be in the line of talent, not learned skill. Such as vision and reactions.

And 2 completed passes of 8. But it's a running league right? Look at all the best teams, they have shitty QB's and only throw twice.

Of course not, and that's why he got stomped by the Lions. They rushed and rushed and rushed. He crumbled under pressure, who honestly cares about games against the Dolphins, Raiders, and Chiefs? We might as well be counting up from the bottom of the power rankings and he did terrible to below average in all those games. If he can do something against the Jets I think we'll be able to really gauge what he's capable of.

He's not going to do ANYTHING against the Jets. Rex Ryan, as much of an obnoxious asshole is a great defensively minded coach. That's his shit. Schottenheimer deals with offense and he gets defenses rolling. Look what he did between when the Patriots blew the Jets out in the regular season, to when they RAPED them in the playoffs. Sacked Brady 4 times in the first half? You can't even try to argue that he doesn't make defenses sing.

They need to make him a tight end, it's the only thing that makes sense.

Aaron Rodgers WAS a heisman candidate... And if he would have made that 4th down pass against USC in 2004 to win the game, not only would Cal have gone to a BCS game (probably snubbed out of the national championship by Auburn). They should have been in the Rose Bowl ANYWAYS that year, as they were #4 in the nation - before Texas totally stole it from us, the cunts...

either way, he had a ridiculous Jr. Year and was the 2nd QB taken in that years draft after Alex Smith... San Francisco very very nearly took him #1.

I understand that, but people have been bashing him for things since he was in college and he was a pretty decent college quarterback if I remember correctly

You're are dumb as fuck. Tebow had more yards per carry? Michael Vick averages 7.2 yards a carry for his career. That's the highest by anybody ever. That doesn't mean he is going to the hall of fame for it. McGahee ran for 50 more yards than Tebow did. Tebow had a 110 yards of running away from the d line because nobody was open. McGahee had 160 yards of actual rushing yards. I'm not saying Tebow's yards don't count but McGahee had the better day, plain and simple. You obviously didn't watch the game. I watched every minute of it and know the stats. Get the fuck out of here until you got something that matters

He was decent because if you stacked the box against him you had no safety over the top to guard Percy Harvin. That's why Jamarcus Russell was so good in college. He could throw it the length of the football field and had fast receivers. With that kind of speed just throw it as far as you can and the receiver will go get it

huh, i seem to remember something like this happening in the 4th quarter last week...in the NFL. I think it may have won the game for the broncos too. can anyone confirm?

You are correct but of course it worked when they ran it 56 TIMES IN A SINGLE GAME. He also only threw for 69 yards, 56 of those coming on that play. I just watched the play on youtube. Tebow didn't do anything special. Decker had 2 yards on the safety. Combine that with the 2/8 passing and you kind of just proved my point

Do you have a counter-argument? Or just some silly pictures to distract from your obvious lack of a relevant response?

I retract a bit of my criticism on Tebow. I just watched the play about 15 times in a row. Very nice route but Decker but I have to hand it to Tebow for the perfectly timed pump fake the inside wheel pattern that gave Decker that 2 yard lead. It's an easy throw to make after that but Tebow created that throw for himself so I will concede that to you

you are high, that was a perfect ball. A great throw. Dead perfect deep balls are a lot rarer than you think, the vast majority of completed deep balls are slightly under thrown.

My point is that tebow wins. straight up flat out. idk how, or why, but he just does. he also loves the sport as much as anyone out there, and i enjoy watching him play in part because that comes through very clearly.

The greatest skill a quarterback can have is the ability to will his team to victory, and for the past 6 years, tebow has done just that.

He gets a lot of media attention, therefore he gets a lot of hate. He'll never be a solid starting QB if he can't figure out how to throw.

first of all, that second pass was not pass interference, clearly there was some contact, however the CB was looking at the ball the whole time, which is prob why the official didnt flag him (it would be different if he was looking at the wide receiver and never looked at the ball)the Fourth (completable pass as u call it) was not completable because it was probably one of the shittiest shuffle passes i've ever seen. But yes his last throw was good, but damn some of these WR's on Denver suck, many of them especially the second last one was scared of the after catch hit...

TeBow may be a good QB with at least one good receiver, but until then...meh, just another quarterback nothing special
