thats what im thinking, the new stuff is not as good but most of the new is good, except when they start getting into the 'new' wierd hipp hoppy sounds that just arent what the band is about.

im dont have a favorite band but they are deffenitly up there in the ranks of really good bands

yeah they are on epic. thats why their new album was so 'highly anticipated' as the tv commentators and what not say. i just really hope they dont turn pop

it's too bad, Epic is good and all, but Sub Pop is really the coolest label out there now, musicians get more voice with them and their music is more true (less manufactured)

they are one of my favourite bands, and i am pissed that lollapalooza was cancelled, it was finally my chance to see them live.. oh well

 
I think they are touring anyway, Lolla was on July 17th, but now MM is playing at the Warfield on that night instead and Sonic Youth is playing the Fillmore that same night. Tough choice but I have to go with the mouse. If you are on the fence about Modest Mouse, see them in concert, they are a great show and Issac Brock used to go crazy at the shows back in the day.

 
sweet, im gonna go see them in bumpershoot this year, along with The Presidents of the United States of America, which is also an awsome band

ive been listining to their shit for years. the best patrt of there music is there lyric it realy makes you tink if you pay attention too it. they right there lyrics wile on acid and shit

 
they my fav band fo sure. Lonesome Crowded West is one of the best cd's ever made and i would highly recomend buying it over their other cd's including their new one. the new one is different, i guess they were just tired of the old acoustic guitar weirdness that they usually do and move to computer instrumental sound weirdness. its different and i'm glad that they change with the times because they would get old and lame if they kept it the same. but for the people who have only heard float on, don't judge them on that one song, buy lonesome crowded west, with songs like bankrupt on selling and polar opposites. thats their best work. their albums before that are really good too. check out the songs 'karma's pavement plan' and 'summer' thats their first stuff. just make sure you get the whole picture before you judge. they are gods in the indie scene too...but i don't like how popular this album is trying to get. i liked it better when not to many people knew them...i guess they wanted more money.
