Who, if any, has the best parks right now?

FYI Paintbrush is opening sunday for public. It's much smaller than normal and is basically set up for our upcoming slopestyle comps in the next 4 weeks. 3 jumps 4 rails right now, we'll start to set up some bigger gaps for rails and such as we move forward, but don't expect the jumps to get any bigger until after our last slopestyle mid february. And we've pretty much scraped all available snow for the features we have now so we can't go any bigger until it starts snowing again.

We are also facing cutbacks becuase of the poor economy and low business levels during x-mas, we have had to lay of people including groomers so any feedback the resort gets about the park being a valuable part of T-line would be fantastic. Otherwise the first thing to go would be our bigger park stuff.

Thanks everyone for giving us a try, we will try not to disappoint.

ill hit up tline about park as a major influence on income im a meadows shredder and ive been at tline cuz its much better right now, and i know kids in the same boat. so ya. your getting kids coming there because of park for sure. how big will the jumps be???

does the management not realize that building an excellent park will bring skiers from everywhere? "If you build it they will come." That would be the best way to increase sales!! Build an epic park and word will get out... pretty soon people from all over the west are gonna stop on by and see if the hype is true I bet right now, the resorts doing the best in this financial crisis are: WB, Vail Resorts (Breck, Key, etc.), and probably Mammoth or Park City. These all have epppic parks! However, the downside is Hood would blow up exponentially at a rate that nobody can possibly imagine... just depends what the resorts want to do: stay underground for the gnar shredders complete with low pass sales and bad parks , or blow up and have big epic parks.... or maybe middle ground.

Agreed - The only way to teach this lesson to the local ski areas is to tell them repeatedly, through available feedback mechanisms (blog, comment cards, etc), that you will ride where the best park is. I think it would be particularly compelling if you have a pass and report riding somewhere else because the parks are better.

I have not been to timberline, which sounds good, but I was at Meadows on Thursday, Bachelor on Sunday, and Skibowl today.

Bachelor crushes the other two. They had a damn nice park set up.

The snow at Bachelor was the worst I have ever skied in 19 years of skiing all over the west coast though. I have never seen ice like that. Anything that was not groomed was a utter shitshow.

Park looked good though.

Meadows was a let down sort of. Pipe was pretty well cut, but they were letting the center build up with snow which was killing your speed. It needed to be slide really badly, but park crew didn't seem to be doing much about it. O well. It was fun nonetheless.

damn that sounds like a fun little ski weekend. If your into park t-line is the place to go...i cant vouch for bachelor but I had so much fun at timberline on thursday.

not when you bought a meadows pass... as bad an idea as that may have turned out to be. but... i definitely agree. haha. and theres alwways the t line spring pass

I heard meadows park is horrible right now.......We need to get some snow here soon, this sunshine has been fun and all. But we wont make it the rest of the season without some snow!

a storm is supposed to come in like thursday night. Should snow at least a foot total its not supposed to be really heavy snowfall but its supposed to last awhile!

ya, rose city sucks peter north. but forest park is pretty fun. its got alot of features but they are all tinybut the rails are fun to fuck around on. but agreed i want a real park. park place needs to hurry the fuck upand be better than last year.
SPACING, meadows... SPACING!!!!!

my roomate is the only skier besides paul on park crew and he said that they were trying to push mounds for park place the other night and they were getting to dirt so that operation is postponed until after a big dump. also the lips on the rose city tables are going to be pushed back so that they arent as overshootable. i had my first double eject of the season pretty much in a rivet on the inrun of the second hit the other day.. it was quite gay. there has been a lot of stupid park crew drama.. not that that is an excuse for how horrid the park has been.

rad! thanks for the info. good to know that the rose city jups will be better. does anyone know of anyjob openings. or if the "drama" will create some? cuz i need to get a job. preferably up at hood

after 12 those in-runs were getting super shitty. I had a few bad edge grabs coming into the second one, where everyone was making huge bomb-holes from overshooting the first.

Yah i only had two days of some amazing powder turns....it would be nice to get some more turns> Maybe even getting a few turns on some ON3P's ahahaha

dude.....

all I know is that I was there a few weeks ago and the ONLY work I saw the 5-6 park crew guys that were there do ALL day long was drill one hole in the snow to replace a bamboo pole......

there was lots of work that needed to be done, but it wasn't done. I was definitely surprised by it.

Ha thanks elliott.

I was too lazy to catch up reading all the posts in this thread but all i really want to say is fuck meadows in the butthole
