heads up is a totally different ball game to having e.g a 5 person table..high cards become valuable, as does a pair of anything
 
my friend once spent $27 on the stacker video game at walmart trying to win a psp. he ended up buying one for full price the next day.

i once won $15 at my hockey team's poker tournament for 2nd place.

 
why i go to tahoe for a ski trip every year, ski all day gamble all night its liek vallhala to me.

I dont play that much anymore after losing all my money and some more in one night. It wasnt that much but it was much for me. I still like to play poker though
 
yep its all about the internet poker for me as well, I thought that it would be a really good way of sustaining my skiing lifestyle, ski all day internet poker at night for the $$$$$ Last summer after the season I was unemployed so instead of finding a job I drove out to wendover once a week to play poker for 2 days straight. I had some real sucess, I spent most of my time on the 3, 6 limit tables, which i don't like cos im a No Limit guy at heart but with a great deal of patience I was able to make money consistently. it was a cool 2 months.

Anyway i started this thread cos there seems to be a high correlation between skiing and taking risks in the casino.

i get my dad to buy me scratch off tickets, their addicting. and i play poker with buddies sometimes
 
keep a roll of ones in your pocket. the day is much more interesting if you make small wagers on random things and shoot dice throughout.
 
i'm not a very big gambler, my money is way too precious for me to just throw away... i'll only bet on things that i can control, ie. my golf game, plus i do enjoy a good day at the horse track, so fun...

I play poker with friends, I'd like to try winning some money at internet poker, but I get the feeling i'd lose control and lose a shit-ton of money.

 
i like going to a little casino just about 10 min away every now and then late at night, stir up some shit, and get some big pots playin some poker. the place i usually go to has a bunch of shitty loose aggressive players, so big pots on meager hands can be pretty frequent.

dont do it very often, nor will i, but its pretty fun.

but when i first made the transition from playing just friends/online shit, i lost a bunch of money cause i didnt know shit. now its the other way around.
 
ummm sure. thats what the old saying is the player always wins. i beleive it is the house always wins. any time you want action i thionk i can cover your bets
 
always make sure i gamble on things i know i have a damn good chance of winning. im skint enough gotta make sure its not going to get worse fast
 
4 at the moment... i dont even think of it as gambling anymore, never play for too much anyway seemings how i'm always playing against friends and all but its always a good time, adds a little extra flavor to the match
 
nice nice, gotta love a good skins game... we'll usually play a 5 dollar nassau, front, back, and overall with dollar birdies and some other little side bets. I can't wait to get to the course tonight now haha
 
yeah well add 5 dollars closet to pin. birdies are double skins. a couple holes well add odds of driving the green. or odds of making trouble shots and things liek that. i gamble on everything so it kind of works out. my friends and i cant do anything unless it invovles some sort of bet. i know i know 800-gambler but it is to much fun. shit even when we go out to eat we play credit card roulette. everyone orders a meal and when the waitrees comes with the check we all through a card in a hat. and then have the server draw a card whoevers card gets pick gets to pay for the whole meal

last night in this one hand i had AK clubs, this other kid has k 10 off, and another kid has J10 off, i raise(25 50cent blinds) to 2.50 the kid wiht k10 reraises to 6bucks, so i rereraise him to 12 or so. so theres 3 in the pot for 11-12 bucks, flop comes, k 10 8, so im like nice, i bet 6, k10 kid puts me all in so im like sickkk!!!!! im gettin dubbed or tripped up. the kid with j10 calls, i instacalled . then the fucker flips k10. and he wins an 80$pot. but the kid played k10 like it was the best hand. when he first looked at his cards heis eyes lit up and he was buggin the whole time, when i was all in i thought at best he had like kj or mabye ak also, but he nigged everybody the rest of the night ike that untill the end when he los all his money when his real poker skill kicked in.
