^ 5th grade?!!? i was in 8th grade, in math class and my principle came over the loud speaker and told everyone. the girl sitting next to me's father was on one of the planes, and she started freaking out. then i got outa skool early, and my mom turned on the tv and started crying.

how about a jib for the mentally unstable aswell. maybe a picture of a kid with down syndrome on a box - anathema
 
Yea i was in 8th grade in english class when the princable came on and told us, but we werent alowed to watch the tv and had to keep working untill lunch then we got to watch it. its crazy how everyone knows where exactly they were at the time they heard about it.

I was walked into my grade 10 science class and was met by my science teacher having a conversation with a kid whos name is frank. They were talking about hijacked planes and how the telecomunications was down because they had been flooded with phonecalls o find out of people were alright. I went over to them and asked what movie they were talking about, i was quite shocked when they told me that it was all to real and actually happening. Most of the rest of the day was a blur.

freshman english class, we just got in the room. but the tv didnt work so we turned on the radio. i thought it was like the war of the worlds i didnt belive it until i saw it on tv.

I was in 8th grade math class and our teacher wouldn't let us turn on the TV. We were all trying to figure out if it had really happened but he wouldn't let us check on the news. We were all pissed because we could hear all the other classes watching it.

Is it just me or do I feel REALLY old because I was in 10th grade when this happened? Seems like everyone was in 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade. Bizarre.

I was in 8th grade and we weren't allowed to watch it for some stupid ass reason. A lot of kids got pulled out of school. I had no idea what was going on. My third hour teacher let us watch it for like 5 minutes before the principal came in and yelled at him.

i was at school at reccess(public school at the time) and i thought the kid that told me about was bull-shitting me and my retarded school went on acting like it never happened.....we werent allowed to discus it at ALL....

i was just about to go to school but my moms like wait and she showed me and my brother and i didnt really think much of it untill like a year after because at the time i was only like 8 but now i realize how crazy it was and ... well ya its insane it was on like every chanell of the news and T.V for like 2 weeks strait!

 
my teacher pretty much fucking freaked out and was all over the place and i was like whats all this trade center about? and then she made us study a whole bunch of different things that contribute to a terrorist attack....this research took about 4 months and each kid had to do something different, i got the palestinian culture

 
dunno because my school is gay and didnt tell us anything except that we needed to go strait home...i didnt even find out until i got home from school that day

At the time I heard of what was going on I was in the middle of smoking a huge blunt of Marijuana!! Then I watched tv and then went back outside to smoke a bowl!! I LOVE Marijuana!

I was in math class and the teacher gave us a problem with a tower and a plane and shit... and at the end he told us what just happened... it was pretty weird... but im canadian so it didnt really affect me...

Don't feel bad, I was out of HS, had woken up a little late, and rushed out the door only catching a quick mention of a plane that had hit the WTC by Matt Lauer on the Today show. Hoped in my truck, put on Howard Stern and realized just what had happened. I got to work and there was a TV on and a bunch of radios. Right after the first tower went down, I was in a meeting and stood up and said I can't do this today, I need to get in touch with my brother (who lives in NYC). Walked out of my meeting, trying to get a hold of my brother on his cell, no connection. I leave work, Howard's still on, trying to act as a line of communication between civil servants (police/firefighters/etc) and the public and trying to keep the listeners informed with as much accurate info as possible. I get home, see the second tower colapse, and realy start to worry. Finally, I get word my brother sent out an email "I'm safe, everyone's crying, I gotta go." His words are eched into my memory forever.

saw it on the news before i left school, i was like what the hell is that, thought it was nothing, got to school and then we were seperated into class groups (fresh, soph, jr, sr) and i was a senior at the time and thats when i realized what was really happening and i could see around the room that most of them were crying.

i was in 7th grade, at the end of the day they told us and i was in gym class. no one really believed the gym teacher when she told us what happened. my dad was suppose to go on a plane in the morning to d.c. i was so scared when i heard the planes hit

I was in english class when they went over the intercom and called a person for dismissal >they then went on for the whole school and said theyre was a airplane crash in NY. I got called to go home and my mom told me she talked to my dad 10 minutes before the plane hit the pentagon. She wasnt sure if he got out, on the way home we could see the smoke . I played dave mirra when I got home . My dad got home and I could smell the smoke on him from the front door.
