i'd just woken up and walked into the living room exactly at the same time that the second tower was hit. I was blown away. All we did that day in school was talk about it with all our teachers and the repercussions of it. I remember when it collapsed to, I was in 4th period I think.

i was in math class and my teacher didnt even show up so we started walkin the halls and when we found her she was cryin like crazy and all these teachers were watching tv so we all skipped the rest of the day and watched it ...........

i was getting in line for school to go inside. i was talking to my friend Zak Zulof right when teh planes hit them. it was about two hours into the day when we got the news. i was in french and i remember my teacher saying that the New York World trade centers have been hit by two planes and have fallen down. i sat there thinking ya right and ill i could think about was the movie men in black. everyone in my class was like'what teh fuck are the world trade centers?' i just said they wwere in men in black. then the principal came over the announcements saying they were hit. my teacher explained how this was a big blow to the american economy and power is probly out all over new york. irt didnt sink in all day. then i got hiome and my whole famil was watching tv. i started watching the footage and was like 'HOLY SHIT!!! that plane just hit the fucking building.' the news guy was talking about how people were jumping out of windows and shit and im like 'oh man' then it sank in. that was one hell of a day

seeing as how it happened right when everyone in my state was getting ready for school.....i was jsut getting out fo the shower, and i checked the news for some odd reason. to see what the weather was going to be like. i never do that! and i saw the news footy and was like 'damn....!' then i went back to my life and put on my clothes and blah blah blah......but then at school we got to talk about it and everything. at first i jsut thought a plane crashed, so it wasn't a huge deal, accidents happen....then when i foudn out it was an attack on americans i was pretty pissed off. and i went through like a 2 week i hate sand nigger stage.....then it was pretty much, oh well....our government will do something aobut it.

When I was playing that golf game, I was thinking all day about how much our nation was going to change. I was thinking about the draft, economic impacts, stuff like that. no wonder I didn't golf good. I guy who was golfing with me said his parents were in NYC and were supposed to go and tour the sights, and he was understandably distraught that whole day. I thought it was kinda stupid that we golfed, because no one was thinking about golf and stuff. The Colorado National Guard escorted every one of the golf busses away from the course after the tourney because of security reasons...it was weird seeing guys with M-16s at a golf course...unless you guys in like Croatia or something

i wa sin french class and we heard about it and turned the tvs on and watched, they were calling kids down to the office cause there parents who worked in the wtc were calling to say they were ok, but one of my freinds lost his dad but there were so many ppl who had family members that worked there in my school

i was in chemistry and we turned on the TV. and we had all the tvs on in the entire school even out in the hallways, i didn't under stand at first, like i had never even heard of the twin towers so i didn't understand why every1 was soo upset, like i didn't realize how many people were there, just a dumb lil kid

Living up in BC, it was bit of a shock but not nearly as powerful as i must have been actually being there. It was crazy meeting a guy the other day that was just across the street at the bus station going to work. Wierd shit.

i was in algebra class in 8th grade. my teacher told us what happened and was like oh shit and then went on with the lesson.

 
2nd period english the princ. came on and said new york was bombed,inbetween classes kids said we were gonna die and stuff my mom came to pick me up because were just outta dc and my dad was in the pentagon

In 8th grade english. we were watching a live feed of the first tower to get hit. i saw the second tower get hit live. really powerful. i think it had a big impact on my life. it made me open my eyes to world.

I was having a snack and my teacher ran in with a radio and I was like 'whats up?' shw was like 'the wtc got hit by planes and they dont know if it was an accident or a terrorist attack' then we listened and found out that the other tower was hit and that it was a terrorist attack. I was sooo scared because my uncle works in the wtc so I called up my mom and she is totally crazy. she is sayinig 'he is ok.' then she starts screaming and crying saying 'he was on his way down!' so I was so confused I was like 'is he ok or was he killed coming down?!' so I talked to her some more and she calmed down and said that he was on his way down to work at the wtc and he saw what was going on and walked back home. luckily all of his colleuges wer ok

i was at boarding school, just woke up and walked by my dorms lounge to see what was on tv- i saw the 2nd building get hit live and saw them collapse.

my aunt who lives in queens told me she watched the 2nd plane hit the tower from the top of her house...also told me for the next few days she could smell the musk of the deceased in the air... must have been so fucked up if you were in ny

 
I was in study hall. THe teachers turned on the tv's. When they first came on it was on espn and i was pretty stoked. then they turned it to cbs and I saw the 2nd one hit live. It didn't seem real. changed me...us all forever...

 
i was in school, and i live within 45 minutes of NYC, so the teachers didn't tell us because a lot of kids parents worked in the WTC, or nearby and they didn't want kids flipping out. When i left school i rode my bike home with my friend, and we stopped on the boardwalk to do our homework. We heard people talking about planes and stuff, but we still had no clue what had happened. Then we got to her house and her mom was home, even though she wasn't supposed to be. Her mom works for the airlines at JFK, so since the airport had shutdown she came home early. However, we still had no idea. When i got back to my house my mom told me what happened, and it took a while for it to sink in. I was just like ok, buildings fell... was any one hurt. And then she was like thousands of people died, and i turned on the tv and started crying.

 
i was in my first period math class freshmen year. my teachers cell rang and she answered it. we could hear crying and screaming and she left the room then came back in off the phone really upset. it had been her daughter at NYU who's boyfriend was in the WTC.... then we turned on VPR and there were annoucements over the intercoms. then kids started leaving school. and they had an announcement that the entire school would be evacuated at the end of the school day. i stayed after and sat in the soccer field for a long time no one else was at the entire school it was weird.

So then after about two minutes when we were both like WTF they were like oh wait, this message says that they have been grounded in Vegas and will be back as soon as the airplanes are ungrounded. For a few minutes they really made it sound like our parents had died. I was pissed, but I went back to my chem lab and told people, who didn't believe me.

my dad works for the state department of criminal justice and for about 2 weeks after 9/11 i barely saw him because hes on this committee and they were called together in some underground bunker and the only time he could come home was at like 2-6 in the morning. sucks too cause he knew people in the buildings as well as cops and firefighters who got killed

 
I heard that the towers were both hit on the way to school. I was in 8th grade, but when we got to school, there was a staff meeting telling the staff not to tell us anything that was going on. There were so many rumors going around. That was one of the stupiedest things ever them not telling us.

I was in France, grade 8, and it happenned during my PE class. I didnt know it though, so I left school and went playing tennis. The guys who raked the clay courts were kind of idiots, and told me that a plane had been hijacked in New york, but I thought he was just talking about a movie or simply bullshitting. Then, 1/2 hour later I went inside the cafeteria and saw everything on TV. That was a shock, what a fucking crazy thing, I thought it was a movie playing at first. Then I just watched TV the rest of the day. Man when I think about this i feel kinda sad, it was such a terrible day...

And whoever brought this thread back up, if it's true that your dad perished in there, well RIP for him, thats really horrible...

At first my school wasn't going to let anyone watch it on TV, but then they decided that it was pretty historic so they didn't stop anyone. Hundreds of people crammed into the library and watched it on several TV's.

I was in my US History class with my most amazing teacher yet, Mr Lawson. We all walked in and he had the television on turned to a station that was covering news all day long, and we all just sat in darkness and watched. When I left the room, I noticed he had been crying. It's so funny how many details I remember about that day.

i was at a trip with my school to an island or something (i didn't care to pay enough attention about where we was) and they told us about it a week after it happend. we where somewhere south i belive. lots of fish and crabs and shit

oh shit i was in 7th grade and on the bus people were like bitch people are jumping out of moving planes and there hitting stuff. so i was like what the fuck. then my teacher said people flew them into crazy big buildings and i was like oh shit. then i went home with my friend and we wanted to watch the news then we were like fuck that and we went and skateboarded then i was grounded cause i didnt go home to watch the news faggot.

i was in 2nd period and we got called to the auditorium for an assembly. it was weird becuase i was sitting next to a kid whose mom worked in the towers and i later found out she passed away

 
3rd period english class with Mr Phalen. He was up front mumbling as usual and my friends and I were having a huge paper fight. I looked out in the hall and there was a bunch of kids leaving so i looked in the front parking lot and it was full of parents picking up their kids. at first i thought it was a huge accident but when i saw the 2nd plane crash it hit me that this was deliberate and somthing was seriously fucked up. then i watched the news non stop for the next couple of days.

I was only in 6th grade when it happened. So it was normal class but it was a christian school, so when the news came we prayed about it for maybe 20 mins. But what I remember most is some nerdy kid who didnt really get what happened got all excited because he knew what the twin towers were so he was happy. It was really sad seeing him.

I came home frome school, watched TV, and i saw one of the WTC on "fire", then another plane crash into the other building, I couldnt really belive it. but im so sick about hearing it now, much more terrible things have happend, but "evereybody should care more and feel sorry for them because they are americans", bs

 
I was in school, 5th grade i think, and our teachers were panicking so we panicked, we thought the president was killed or the world was coming to an end...it was mad chaos
