What where you doing, and what was your First Reaction...

I was in Gym Class, and we were playing Tennis, when someone ran out and Screamed the Twin towers have been hit, It didn't sink in at that point, I thought it was a small Sesna aircraft, When we went into the school to watch the news, everyone..... was watching a TV.... When it hit me, what was happiing I left school, and skipped work that night, the world had changed....

 
i heard about it in study call, so i got in my car, grabbed some lunch, and skipped school for the rest of the day to watch the news at home..skipped the next day too cause i couldnt stop watching CNN

Siitin in 2nd period when our principal came on and said to turn on our tvs and watch it! SO we spen t the whole day in that class watchin the news!

was watching a TV show ... you know, with the guy receiving the next day newspaper every morning and trying to save people. i changed the channel durin' the ads, then, ... never saw the end! i saw the live news.

was supposed to be with my mom in nyc for the whole week because she had some meeting for work in the north tower and she was going to be nice and give me a little time off from school since I was doing so well and all. turns out her meeting gets canceled and then that happens...thank god it got canceled.

so yea instead I was sitting in english class and they made an anoucement but not until the end of the day.

My girlfriend and I had already planned to miss work that day and sleep in, so one of her roomates runs into our room and tells us there was a terrorist attack, but she didn't say what it was, so we slept for a couple more hours and turned on the tv and it was like we were watching it live it was so mind blowing.

I was in 6th grade, gym class. They told us we had to go out in the hall to hear the announcement over the intercom since there isn't one in the gym. We heard it and I didn't think much about it, because they just told us a plane crashed into one of the twin towers. Then later, next block, they told us two actually hit the towers. Since the middle school didn't get to watch it on TV, I was wicked confused.

Some kid in my class couldn't stop crying because his dad was supposed to be in one of the towers for a convention. They had to bring him out of the class and try to calm him down, wicked scary. Then we learned his dad was supposed to go in a couple days.

When I got home.. man I got nothing to say.

 
i was driving to school, and i heard it on the radio. i was immediately pissed. i didn't realize how much sadness would follow, i was moved by anger first. then i saw a girl i knew in our school's quad crying, and i knew it was because her dad had to go on business trips to D.C., and sometimes had to be at the Pentagon. I knew in an instant that was what was troubling her, and i think that was when i first started to realize what kind of tragedy was occuring. i talked to her for a awhile, and then one of her friends drove her home. when she had gone, emotion welled up inside of me and i went into the bathroom and broke a mirror and punched the wall. i was so sad and angry at the same time, full of rage while tears welled up in my eyes. i will never forget that feeling, for the rest of my life.

only a few times in my life have i been so overcome with emotion. when i saw the american hostage execution video, and saw the proof of the pure evil that exists in this world, i was affected in a similar way, but more anger followed, although i never broke anything. i can't believe how some people can do the things that they do. i'm sitting here feeling a flood of emotion as i type this. it's so horrible, i can't put it into words. i want so badly to be able to help those who suffer because of it, and stop the terrible acts that occur, but it is beyond my ability, and it is one of the most frustrating things i can imagine. i want to do whatever i can, and i try, but it just seems like so little. it's discouraging, but i know i've just got to do whatever i can. i wish it was clear and easy to accomplish. it kills me inside, seriously, it really does.

Well it was the end of math class and a teacher came in all serious and started whispering to my teacher. One of my friends could hear them and he told me they said a plane crashed into the pentagon. So the bell rang and I went to my next class. By that time EVERY class had the TV on. I went to the wrong class (i was a freshman and the schedule was confusing) and sat down with the teacher and started watching the news. I was like 'Where are the other kids?' and the teacher was like 'That's a good question.' Then we realized I was supposed to be in a different class and I went to my next class.

Just rollin up to school, i had heard a bunch of people on the way to class talking about a plane crashing. When i got into my first class, the news was on, showing the damage the first plane had done. Then as i was watching, the second plane came bombing in and collided with the building. I did'nt even know what to think. I was'nt even sure it was real.

We just sat there in awe watching the footage of the first plane crash. We went to forth period and I watched the second plane hit live.

well school hadn't started for me yet so i was still home and i came downstairs and it was really scary. i was sad the whole day. i remember asking anyone if they knew what happened and they said yeah it so awesome!! omg its so cool. stupid fuckers i hope they all die. but our tv wouldn't work in class so we just sat around and went on like it was a normal day and it wasn;t.

i had just woken up to go to class, actually a little early and decided to turn on the tube for a minute while i made breakfast, they were showing the first tower smoking and then i saw the second plane hit. i did not leave my couch for the rest of the day. I was transfixed on the tv, i dunno if i even ended up eating breakfast or lunch or even dinner for that matter. All classes were cancelled anyway but i didnt care if they were or not i was not leaving the tv. I couldnt believe when they told about the plane that crashed in pennsylvania i think that the passengers tried to fight them all off, saddest thing to hear about someone calling their wife and telling them they love them and goodbye!

I was in boot camp... We all thought it was just another thing the Drill Insturctors were feeding us to fuck with our heads. It was kind of a wierd day because the recruit depot is right next door to the airport in San Diego, so usually it's a bit noisy from all thos planes doing their stuff over there. I guess it was the first thing we noticed as the day went on, other than the verbal and physical abuse we became used to by that time. Later in the day after being led on by our green belt DI's our Senior Drill Instructor brought us in for a talk, turns out not only was this story true, but that a family member of one of the guys in my platoon was killed that day. The next day we watched news reports and stuff. I guess the DI's took that as a signal to pile it on cause the next couple weeks were hell. So Marine Corps Boot Camp, that's where I was.

i was in school, and it was so weird because all of these kid's parents were pulling them out of school...then we heard a rumbling. see, my high school is about 3 miles from where the plane crashed, in shanksville, pa. from then, I went to 4th period history class and my teacher just looks at us and says, 'today something happened that will rewrite history as we know it.' Right after that, we all got called into the auditorium and watched tv until we were dismissed. it was so insane...
