No man all my homies I ride with are snowboarders I know who Blake Lamb and the Dustbox crew and Benny Milam and all the sick dudes are. Havent you watched Andy Partridge, Jake Carney, Magnus Barbo, Mango edits before?? If you think snowboarding is cooler thats fine, thats a personal opinion but if you think park skiing is wack thats because youve been told to think that.

And you can't make the argument that skiers "got the tricks from snowboarders". Sure they got inspo no doubt, but skiers have gotten tricks before snowboarders in the past and the reason why nobody claims they got inspo from skiers is because their programmed to think they're cooler than us so they would never claim that.

I'm not suggesting that someone should make a resort that bans snowboarders, or a current one should enact a policy that would ban them, I know that is unreasonable and wouldn't work. Just me personally I appreciate it when there aren't boarders on the hill.

no, skiers haven’t gotten all their tricks from snowboarders, but snowboarders made a huge impact on a lot of the skiers that I look at as dope at least, stept for example, started hitting big stuff because they saw Lucas magoon and the technine dudes do it. One of the godfathers of style Michael deshenaux only rode with boarders and that is where he got his inspo from. and yes i have seen all the guys you mentioned above, I used to watch oli’s pc edits with Andyp and mango all the time and ap’s segment in zootspace is probably my fave from last year. I have literally seen magnus ski irl plenty of times and his stuff with eppern is sick, I have also played Jake,s sw7 tail to safety to the parking lot on repeat a thousand times. skiing is sick as hell dude no doubt

Ur arguing with a kid who had probably watched more edits than anyone else in the world (pretty sure he runs steezyskiing on IG).

Either way ur absolutely right about the society telling you snowboarding is cooler. I ride with boarders too, I was at Loveland pass yesterday where it was 75% boarders and they were getting hyped at everything we were throwing just like we were getting hyped about what they were doing. If a trick is a cool it’s cool, doesn’t matter wtf ur riding. If snowboarding itself was cooler then simply owning a snowboard would make you sick, which as we all know just isn’t fuckin true at all lol

Urban skiing has much higher risks which causes many skiers to stay away from it and going big in urban is extremely impressive in my opinion. the fact that if you fall hard on a urban rail your probably gonna get hurt from the rail it’s self and having the concrete there makes it so much worse. And hours of work to make a lip with high chances of being kicked out make it even more impressive. Having that much dedication to skiing makes me want to watch an edit and really appreciate it. I think Urban is just a different type of park skiing.

The b roll is usually a little better but dudes try too hard to be artistic and forget that the point of a ski video is ski clips

The soul of skiing is on a mountain, carving is sick af( which you don't do in urban) same with going big on sidehits

Small urban features are fine in the context of an edit but boring if you don't do bigger features

You spend hours building a lip to a rail that you get one or two clips on or you get kicked out

The only thing better about urban is the uniqueness of the features but you can't do sick jumps, carve, put lines together etc.

Urban is still sick af but everyone holds it too highly imo. A good park edit with some nice sidehit footy is unmatched.

way back in the day skiers weren't allowed in the park at my home mountain, this is a long time ago but it made us respect the boarders, for letting skiers ride there you know? there was also a rope tow park where I lived ran by snowboarders, mainly for their boarder homies, but they let me and my friends ski there, which I am very thankful for because they could've easily just had it open for snowboarders. by skiing is "the wack thing in the park" I meant all the families and people that don't care about others in the park, if I didn´t make myself clear lol. the park at my home resort is packed of little ski kids and karen parents that doesn't give a shit about park rules or respecting others. my friend literally almost chopped of some dudes head because they had lunch behind the takeoff. the snowboarders gave their "private" park away to ski tourists and people that shouldn't be there in the first place. I guess this isn't the case at all mountains tho

yeah my hot take is snow.share is contributing to both killing NS B/S/T and raising the prices here... you used to have to be in the scene to buy or sell stuff and it was always at homie prices because of that. friends were made, etc. now you just need to follow an instagram page and not even know what it is youre selling
