mine:

emmanuel, suffolk, UMASS Boston, Lesley, North Eastern U, and Wheelock

really want suffolk but its so damn expensive, and wheelocks seems like my top pick because its 92% female, and ill have a chance to play D3 ball there, and tennis.

Where are you guys looking next year?

portland u

u of pacific

us air force academy

cornell just in case but probably won't get in

interesting list. UW, Cornell, and USAFA are way better academically than any of the other schools you listed. Might want to up the academic caliber of your other choices if you can get into those.

yeah. the thing is, i don't even know if i can get into those. maybe UW since i'm doing early action. but i don't know. i had one really bad year of high school while my mom had cancer and i had some other stuff going on, and i got like a 2.9 that second semester, which brings my GPA down a whole bunch. cornell and USAFA i'm not sure if i'd get into. even if i got into the academy i doubt i'd go, just cause i'd rather enjoy college for 4 years before i go into the military.

BC

BU

Claremont McKenna

UC Boulder

U of Denver

Middlebury

Occidental

Trinity

a couple others too, i really need to narrow my list down

anyone know of any good engineering schools on the west coast near the slopes? So far i have CU Boulder

You should PM A-Style** or Smail about the academy. They go there.

I had one bad year as well, dropped my 3.9 to a 3.5, but I worked my way back up again to a 3.7. If you do well senior year you should be fine, you just need to explain to the schools what happened. They're very reasonable. Talk to whoever is helping you decide your list and maybe check out some of the princeton review books. I don't know what your overall GPA is or how you did/will do on standardized tests, but all that combined with extracirriculars will make up your apps, not just one factor. I know that's what everyone will tell you, but it's true.

Oh, and early action doesn't always make it easier. I got denied to two schools out of the nine that I applied to, and one of them was early action. It all depends on how many kids are applying there like that. You're out of state so it'll be harder as well. UW is a sick school though I'm going here for fall quarter to take a course or two on my gap year. Today was my first day of classes and people are awesome. I'll have to wait and see how the overall experience is though.

yeah that makes sense. i do have a shit load of extra curriculars, and i'm hispanic/latino so that should help. thanks for the info.

yeah i fucked myself over hard with my GPA i missed a ton of school for comps and POW days, and my GPA went from a 3.0 to a 2.0

which is going to make it really hard to get into schools, but thank the gods i did well on SATs back in March, and I plan to do better in november

Yeah, but at least its close to skiing, and is a banger good school...

Still... you might as well apply to Davis if you're good enough to do UoP.

stockton definitely is a god forsaken place. but i'm applying there in case i decide i want to stay close to home, which is doubtful. plus i'd be a 3rd generation to go there, so i could probably get in. and they sent me a distinctive application which means i apply for free and with no essay and a way better shot at getting in.

and dingosean, is stockton seriously close to skiing? i was unaware of this. to where, bear valley?

what is your idea of nice connecticut? place is comprised of shitty beaches, shitty metropolises, snobby suburbs, and peaceful beautiful rural farmland. storrs falls into the last and by far best category. i guess to each his own...

Bear Valley, Dodge Ridge, and Kirkwood, and hell, even tahoe are not too far away... especially if you're in college and only really have time for daytrips...

Put it this way... CU Boulder, in Colorado is further from skiing than Stockton, for sure. I grew up about an hour west of Stockton, in the Antioch/Concord area and I got 40-50 day seasons in high school and my first two years of college without a problem. If I wasnt in college, and working at the same time, I obviously would have had more... but hey... that would have been the case even if I went to a school that was within 30 mins of skiing...

ive heard that kirkwood is like 3 hours from stockton. but it would make sense that bear is close?

plus uop's campus is sooo nice.

I applied to Iowa State, the University of Iowa, and Purdue. However I will be going to Iowa State, I just said yes to my acceptance letter yesterday.

Dude, no way is kirkwood 3 hours from stockton lol...

Growing up in Antioch and shit, I would get there easily in about 2:45 or 2 1/2 hours and I'd have to drive through lodi, which is a good half hour or so away if I broke every speed law available...

i would easily say you could get to kirkwood in under 2 hours from stockton, and DEFINITELY under 2 hours to get to Bear. About 2 hours is all it would take to shred Dodge. It would take maybe 2 1/2 hours to get to south lake tahoe...

no offense bro, but middlebury is fucking impossible to get into. Like i know where BC and BU and Trinity and UC boulder stands, and their at like a 5 or 6 when middlebury is at a 10

1 Penn state

2 Pitt

3 Rose Hulman

4 CO school of mines

5 U of U just incase a 3.89 and 31 on the acts and 1350 SAT doesnt get me into the above

If you haven't visited Claremont McKenna yet, go in march/april and It will most likely be the most gorgeous college campus you ever step foot on. -also has amazing but really hard to get into graduate programs (in regards to the claremont schools in general)

Well, I'm only a sophomore in highschool, but I might as well post up a few schools I have in mind:

UC Davis

A few other UCs in So-Cal

Cal Poly

Not really looking to pay out of state tuition for schools that are no better than the in-state schools.

First off, everyone stop calling CU Boulder "UC Boulder". We don't have UC schools in Colorado. That for California.

But anyways, I'm applying to:

CU Boulder

University of Utah

and

Montana State University (already got in)

well in 2 years when im done with my AS im hoping I will be able to transfer to either the U of M, Purdue, Utah state, or St Thomas
