Where are you guys applying?

Cal Poly SLO is the SHIT!!!!!!I visit my sister there 7-10 times a year, and it's ridiculous. I wanna go there really badly, but the ski scene is well, nonexistent. However, the ski and snowboard club throws crazy ass house crawls that hand out bottles of wine at the door. Kinda like skiing?

Gonzaga and Seattle U are both great schools -- pretty much should be the top of your list (other than maybe Cornell). Great schools, great education at each, and great skiing nearby both (if that matters to you).

McGill

UBC

Cornell for a stretch

CU Boulder

UW

Seattle U

Denver U

U of Portland since I got a free app.

Colorado Mountain College

CU Bolder

UVM

BU

UNR

Champlain

probably end up at either Champlain UVM because i live in VT

UW Honors

Boulder

USC

Berkeley

Stanford

Dartmouth

maybe Princeton

I need some more medium range schools, preferably West Coast engineering schools that have other strong programs. I'm not interested in super workaholic schools like Harvey Mudd though.

Thanks guys

1510 math+verbal, 2180 total (my essay was terrible), 3.9 GPA

it may be a stretch but what about CalTech

Also think about UBC, super good engineering program and sick location.

I was thinking about CalTech for awhile, but it seems a bit too specialized for me.

To address the other reply, I am interested in Princeton, Dartmouth, and Stanford because I visited the two former and they appeared rather more laid back and social (animal house was based on Dartmouth). My friend visited Stanford and got a similar vibe there, and it fits the bill for all of my other priorities for college.

I've heard Harvey Mudd is just all work and no play i guess, but realistically my generalization isn't based on a significant number of facts.

I've been considering UBC too, forgot to mention it actually, but thanks.

you realize if you go to any of those schools there is friendship potential...CMU NEIGHBOR!

plus i'm applying for med school at:

Tufts

Brown

Dartmouth

UMass

UC Denver

Aimee, we have talked about partying it up being neighnbors in Pittsburgh!! but you will be gone when i get there, unless you get into CU, Tufts, Brown, or Dartmouth, then we could (kinda) go to the same school!!!!

university of denvercolorado collegeCU boulderUVMUNC chapel hillmaybe Puget Sound or Lewis and Clark

I want to get to law school in 4 years after my undergrad is done so these are on my list to apply after my undergrad.

Harvard (for shits and giggles to see if they say yes)

Gonzaga

UW

Seattle University

Pacific Lutheran

Yale (same as Harvard)

Princeton (same as Harvard)

Not a big name place. Eastern Washington University. I have basically resigned myself to the fact that I will probably go to UW or Seattle U for my tenure at law school.

UVM is a great school my sister goes there and loves it. Im applying there and at bishops. Does anybody here go to bishops?

Yeah Tufts, that's where I go now, for undergrad. Sick school. Skiing's not exactly close though. Don't know a ton about the med school, but I'm assuming it's legit.

No idea where I want to apply to med school yet, or if I'm even going to go...way too far in the future for me.

Unless you are okay with skiing less than 5 days a year, never ever in your damn mind even think of going to SLO.

Good School. Hard to get into, but i'd kill myself if I was that far from snow..

Very true. Last I heard (about a week ago), they only had room for like 250-300 people. Which is nothing (not sure if it's true, although I'm 99.9% positive it is).

The attention being drawn to GU just through its basketball program is really huge. It's pretty amazing watching the school grow.

MIT? If you're looking at West Coast engineering schools, Caltech is pretty good, and certainly no more specialized than a place like Harvey Mudd.

I don't know if you're willing to go to school in the south...but you should check out Wake Forest in North Carolina. Such a sweet school, that's where my dad went for law school, and loved it. It's also a school with a reputation way on the rise.
Definitely very hard to get into, considering its law school is in the top 35 in the nation.

yeah absolutely! wake forest is an amazing school period but their law school is truly untouched.

eastern ct is flat and shitty, the coast sucks too, but north west ct is sick its all rolling hills with the occasional farm and very rural... sherman ct rated best town in ct lol
