When did It become cool to hate on Dumont?

we should start betting. i think the next kid to be hated on will be Sean Pettit, then Matt Walker, then Tom Wallisch, then back to T-Hall.

 
i dont think people will ever hate jon but im predicting simon will have a huge turnaround in the near future just like tanner did
 
people started disliking simon when he threw his style out the window for huge air. watch him now compared to segments like in x=ten and you will notice
 
i don't see anything wrong with getting huge air. i also don't see what you mean by him throwing his style out the window, he's still got more style than most kids, he just steps up the difficulty is all.
 
I dont think its really got a lot to do with that, i think for most people its his attitude and personality.
 
I'm actually thinking sometime within the next couple of years it will be cool to hate on tom wallisch ns loves em and then it get's old so they hate them

yeah i've heard some stories about dumont being an asshole. that doesn't mean he's gay (as some of the kids on eher like to say) though, and it doesn't mean he's not a good skier.
 
i never liked tanner and i continue to not like him, i used to like dumont and now i don't, he seems so un-chill unlike colby and the more modest skiers
i thought kye would get a lot of hate a few years ago for getting sponsored by rossi when he wasn't very good at skiing but he's really turned around, i thought he ripped in lost and found
 
That's what everyone says, but honestly I've met him a few times, and he's always got a great attitude... He leads the sport, and loves what he does. He signs autographs for kids for hours, he sets world records, and he pushes the hype on our sport soo much... He's a good guy, NS leads to let their grudge on him go.
 
he basically quit sliding rails, i need to see some real rail shit out of the dumonster to really respect him as anything other than a pipe and jump jock. oh and some pow and bc skiing would be cool to see too.
 
Im gonna throw this out there, and u can take it, or throw it right back..There is no reason to hate on any skier, just becuase they are cocky.i mean tell me tanner hall hasnt done any good things for the Ski Industry?i mena fuck, that kid is raisng the bar constantly, he does have a shitty attitude but he kills it.Same as most of todays pros.so lets not hate.
 
hes seems like a good guy. ive heard countless stories of him kicking the living shit out of ppl twice his size.
 
First of all, dont get me wrong but not liking dumont is an habit people have developped since he began is pro skiing career. He's definatly not your usual rpo skier and definatly knows what he wants to do with his skiing.

He used to be that 16 years old tought guy from maine who's friend could beat up anyody if they messed with him to one of the top 3 freeskier who are comepting for x-games gold and one of the most payed freeskier alive.

Being such a person with such a personality( wich people get to like or hate) get people having an opinion on yourself instead of just the way you ski.

I'll have to say I find it really weird when I hear kids say I wanna be like simon Dumont and at the same time I find people who are hating on the guy just as amusing. Both of them have no clue on who he really is and they only get to know him trough ski medias wich can be biased just like any kind of media.

Anyway, dont hate or say you want to be like someone unless you know a lot about that said person.
 
I think all the hate for Dumont originated from when he was hating on Tanner for winning pipe over him. NS came to Tanner's defense. Some members seem to think its cool to take out a personal vendetta against Simon for one reason or another. Its so pointless. Simon kills it. Sure he sometimes throws a wack ass no grab cork 12 but other than that hes cool in my book.
 
i think pretty soon people are going to realize its stupid to hate on dumont. and all of the hate is going to go towards someone else.
 
it hasnt gotten to cool to hate on Dumont. just because of his style people hate on him. leave him alone. i have always hated on Tanner, based on the fact that i do not like him as a skier. i have never liked Tanner. I thinks hes pretty chill and cool as a person, but not as a skier. theres just something about him. The next person to be hated on will be Wallisch. Im already getting tired of afterbang because so mayn people are playing it out. it was cool when only people like Tom and hornbeck etc were doing it but i really dont like afterbang
 
well no, everyone hated on Tanner, then tanner came on to NS and started posting, now everyone loves him, then everyone did the same to Jon, now he posts on NS and everyone loves him, now it's Dumonts turn
 
im agreeing with steve. met him at jib acedemy. shouldnt really say met thou. he just skied alone the whole day. complained about it being cold. i dont like his atitude towards kids every other pro was stoked to be there he was just there to be there or something. i respect his skiing weither its pipe slopestyle or big air thou. he does throw down.
 
I didn't really have an opinion on Simon. I have respect for what he has achieved as a skier, even if I didn't always agree with what he was doing and how he was pushing the sport. However, this weekend I saw him compete at the london Freeze big air and lost a lot of respect for him there:

Everything I saw of him suggested that he was purely there for the money. Don't get me wrong, he's a professional and ultimately they were all there competing for the $$$. However, all the other competitors were having a good time, the camaraderie was high and they were all stoked for each other. Cut to dumont: throwing the same 10 mute every single hit without so much as a high five, a smile or anything. He got through to the final, purely based on his name- several heats I thought he should've lost, most notably against Fabio Studer, but he got through because he's 'The Dumont'...

Now I know thats the judges fault not his but it's hard not to resent him a little and anyway he couldn't have looked less stoked to be there, except when he was ill-deservedly on the podium flashing his target logo.

Weak.
 
sadly ns needs someone to hate tanner or dumont. I don't think there's anything wrong with dumont.
 
i have never really liked Dumont

i have no liking AT ALL for his style and i dont think he is a good all around skier

i made it cool to hate on dumont haha
 
if he throws 6-7 hits in the pipe next year, and spins both ways, and lands everything clean as a whistle...

Nobody is going to hate after that, because chances are, he will win.
 
Could it be that he is very competitive and instead of high fiving he was focused on his run going over it in his head the whole time? They're all there for the $ and pleasing their sponsors (target). just a thought

I personally don't like Tanner that much. I mean I love him (no homo) caues he slays everything he sets his mind to and trains harder than probably anyone else but whatever. don't like his black/rasta/trying too hard to be cool/whatever you want to call it personality.

I bet Wallisch will be the next to be hated on cause people will get tired of afterbang and all that bullshit.
 
Why would he want to come on here and post when 95% of the kids on here hate on him for no reason. Total waste of time, kids here hate on his company, his skiing, his attitude, etc...Why would he waste his time? Ever think of that? Fact of the matter is Simon has probably done more for skiing than this site has, and kids still hate on him for it...Which is sad, maybe if the hate wasnt there he might come on here.. Maybe not. but who knows...
 
I've heard he is extremely cocky. No hate implied. I like the guy and have never disliked him but from what I've heard he's really cocky.
