When did It become cool to hate on Dumont?

I've always thought that if something is popular for long enough eventually it will become cool to hate on it. People hate on people like simon dumont because they think there bad for the sport or for some similar reason but its the hater thats bad for the sport, and its what the hater is doing thats worse than anything. People make it such a big deal for no reason. And I dont find it hard to beleive at all that people will find a way to hate on tom wallisch, strictly for the reason that it will be the cool thing to say. Which sucks
 
Wallisch might start to get hated on if he gets too caught up in comps and being serious and shit. But if he stays legit with 4bi9 and keeps slaying it, people aren't gonna hate. It all comes down to attitude and how people look at you.
 
besides the fact that he has a bad attitude, almost everyone i've talked to, including myself, who have met him outside an autograph signing and shit like that, have said that he just acts like hes the shit and wants nothing to do with anyone, other than his "crew" who put too many fucking empire stickers everywhere.
 
Thats exactly why the recent flareup of hate occurred. The booing at the X-games, when Tanner's run was OBVIOUSLY more technical and met the judging criteria. Spin both ways if you want to be on top of the game, be aware that amplitude is only a portion of what the judges are looking at and work to progress the sport.
 
my take on it is that it will be like thall all over again. a few years ago everyone was hating on tanner huge...now he is one of most popular and well liked pro on this site(so i think anyways)....but alot of the hate seems random and has no real backing to anything. alot of the newbs and newer members are possibly just trying to stir the pot.
 
Every time I've talked to him he's been really nice. He comes across as a little intense, but a good guy.
 
it became cool to hate on dumont the first time i saw him walk into a party and walk up to the kid who owned the house and say "fuck you," just cuz he thinks he's cool
 
I've always liked Tanner and Dumont.(No homo)

I spoke to Dumont after his 2nd place result in the London Freeze and he was super stoked for PK Hunder saying he 'Slayed it'.
 
I think Simon is a bit misunderstood. Yep, he could do himself well by coming on here and interacting (giving a little something back) in a positive manner like Tanner and Jon have.
 
I've actually personally hated dumont since i saw his park in strike 3. You guys just copied me cause you want to be cooler
 
yeah that makes sense.. which im guessing is why if you watch the NZ edit, you see him talking about doing rails again and getting back into that
 
basically simon's a sick skier, he absolutely rips in pipe and some big airs and can definetly hit rails and shred pow but his rail sliding and backcountry is maybe a little weak compared to some of the other guys because he practices pipe and big air a lot more. and just like plenty of people he can be a real stand up guy at times and sometimes he can bitch out. ive always thought simon was a good guy who really gets intense in competition and can throw down some sick stuff. Ive never got why everyone just decides to hate on him all the time. "hes in it for only money" well who isnt? and why arent people bitching at tanner or boronowski? they both have companies trying to make money (just to be clear i like both of those guys a lot no hate) so why hate on simon? it makes no sense and calling him a fag is just stupid are we 12 here? i guess some people are
 
i think it was about 3:30 on a wednesday morning in september if i remember correctly. it had nothing to do with fag bags, or riding for target.
 
I asked Dumont for his autograph at the first Icer Air and he put on this sour ass face and acted like it was a big hassle to do it. I was super pro-shocked, being this my first pro snow event, and he basically just shat on it. Also...this was in San Francisco — there isn't much love for skiing in the bay area (it's all about snowboarding at northstar, bro), so I figured he would think its cool that some kid asks him to sign the last issue of Freeze ever made — but he didn't seem to care much.
When I asked Schiller to sign the other Freeze mag I brought, he talked to me for almost 5 minutes, and generally just seemed to be a really nice guy.

I've heard other stories too — like Simon screaming obscenities from the chairlift at kids who weren't using poles. Why is someone who is so naturally talented at skiing harping on other grom/no-name kids and shit? Fuck that.

 
i started to hate him after last years x-games. then again when he put out that empire podcast of him doing doubles. i recognize that he is a great skier, but his style is not what i like
 
bahaha that sounds like a few pros i know... you know who your are... kid: goes of 80ft stepdown, switch cork 9... them: NO POLES! DOESNT COUNT!
 
The big difference between simon and tanner is that tanner is a genuinely nice person. He may not be the most intelligent skier out there but he's always wanted the best for the other skiers around him...
Then there's simon who is a complete dick. My roomate and some of my friends knew him in highschool and have nothing but bad things to say about him. I met him on multiple occasions skiing at sunday river when he was younger and I will reiterate that he's an asshole.

dumont is a fag and its always fun to hate on fags. if you want proof of him being a complete tool just watch any ski movie or sny online video or any interview he has ever been in. you could probbaly check his empire "company" too for more proof

I think everyone has one person in their life who has this cocky attitude, maybee for good reason, and looks down on nearly everyone, and this guy is legitimately better at whatever it is, but is a total ass about it.

I think Dumont reminds people of that person.

Not saying Dumont is like that how the hell should I know but he does give off that personality.

because one kid decided to hate on him, and then all the sheep decided to agree with him, thinking that thats what everyone thought.
 
They started hating on him when I told them to. I am the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Love for Tanner? Me, sat Tanner down and was like, yo people are gonna love you now. Boom!
 
people always hate on what they can never be. tanner, simon, jon are all superstars when it comes to skiing.. and all the people on here will never be to their level. If it wasnt for the dumonts and the halls and the olsson whe'd never be where we are today.. stop hating on people cause they dont slide a rail in every video you see.. dumont im sure sessions a park without a camera and slays rails, but since he's a contest skiing right now, he doesnt have time to train on rails when they wont be in the events he enters to pay the bills and grow Empire.. Tanner has done that already and armada and his bank account are great because of all the contests he won. Same goes for Jon.. simon will get around to BC and just having fun when he feels he's acheived what he wants in the contest scene, just as jon and tanner have.

Another thing about kids bitchin he was bummed when giving an autograph...Dont ask the kid for one when he is in between runs or hits in a comp...Its comp time, Do people go ask Iverson for an autograph in between the 3rd and 4th quarters at a Nuggets Game? Nope....Wait till after the comp is over, I have watched him give his poles to kids, number bib, etc...
 
idk, i just hear he is a real douche but i've never met him or seen it, so i'm not sure. he kills it on the hill no doubt, not sure about his personality.
