Fox was a solid character as well. I switched between him and Link a lot. Link is alright and did a lot of damage but was slow and hard to get back on the map sometime. Ness was a weird character for sure, I dont think many of my buddies really used him. Nintendo 64 in College was so much fun. We used to play Mariokart64 all time time. We would throw down a game for literally everything from who would grab beer to who would take the trash out etc lol. I was pretty savage at MarioKart.

-Skyrim, still probably the best RPG ever made. As a 2011 title, it legitimately holds up better than rpgs released in 2019 onwards. Sucks to see how the industry is now on the decline.

I was in another quad one night where i mentioned 64 smash and this guy told me he would beat any one of us. So we went back to our suite and both me and my kirby friend went one on one 5 stock against this guy on kirby level and we both killed him. He actually thought fox could compete against a good kirby or dk. He looked so embarassed afterwords.

I used to play so much xbox growing up. Now I'm lucky if I get to play 5 hours a week total.
Rough chronological order of some of my favorites:
Halo Reach - Middle school sleepovers and custom forge games are peak nostalgia for me
Forza 4 - Best Forza. I played most of the games after this one, but they never quite captured the magic again
AC II - Made me fall in love with the series.
COD Black Ops - Zombies was everything when this launched. Way too many hours on Kino Der Toten
Battlefield 3 - This multiplayer blew my mind. Destructable environments. That noise an rpg made when it flew right past your head on Metro. So much fun
Skyrim - Favorite game of all time
Dishonored - Best stealth game of all time
Portal/Portal 2 - Do yourself a favor and play these if you haven't already
GTA V - Completely changed video games. Set a new standard. So much fun fooling around with friends
Battelfield 4 - Not quite as good as 3, but still amazing. The last pvp shooter I fell in love with. Also the year the Xbox One and PS4 released. Golden era of xbox multiplayer ended imo (or I got older)
Witcher III - Phenomenal game. The reason why cyberpunk got so much hype
Destiny 2 - Game design is annoying and grindy, but the gunplay is just so good. I spent way too much time in this game
AC Origin - Surprised me with how good it was. Best one since black flag
Zelda BOTW - Amazing. Get your hands on a switch to play this
RDR2 - Raised the standard for storytelling in open-world games
Outer Wilds - Lowkey game but I loved it. Highly recommend it
I'm probably forgetting some from middle school - high school age. I haven't played many games in the last 2 years since I graduated college. RDR2 took me like 6 months to get through. Just started AC Valhalla and I'll be busy with it for a while.

MarioKart skills were more subtle IMO. If your really good and playing other good players its pretty intense. Having to slide boost at least 2-3 times a turn and be perfect on every course and always have items for defense and laying traps etc. Super Smash is a more direct in your face skillset for sure though.

The Original Call of Duty Modern Warfare actually had really fun multiplayer and people were usually mature and focused which was cool. Gears of War multiplayer was so intense back in the day too. Especially when you were trying to nail the other guy with those exploding crossbows.
