any one old enough on here to remember classic old PC Games like:

Battlefield 1942 / Vietnam

Americas Army

Day of Defeat

CS GO

I probably have like 500 hours on BF 1942. That game was so sexy.

Skyrim - Favorite game of all time

Nothing beats this game, don't think anything ever will. Bethesda cannot ever live up this standard again without spending a hell of a lot of money to do so. While the gameplay mechanics themselves are a bit stale, virtually everything else makes up for it.

It's fucking baffling to me that a game made in 2011 still has replayability 10 years later. Most open world RPGs don't even come close to the depth that Skyrim offers. The scope of the game still shocks me to this day.

Don't even get me started on the music. Easily the best videogame soundtrack to date, on par with the likes of john williams for movies. I had the great privilege of meeting Jeremy Soule and I discovered that every instrument he uses in the soundtrack besides the voices are artificial synthesizers that he himself designed—shocking considering how organic/acoustic it sounds.

Given that I was exposed to skyrim quite young, the nostalgia I have for that game transcends any experience i've had to date. One thing about living in a fantasy world is you're always a little detached from day to day life, which, oddly enough, makes all of life's difficulties surprisingly trivial.

It hit me at the perfect age. I think I was 13 when it came out. Prime time for socially awkward me to fall into the most immersive RPG experience of the 360/PS3 generation. The scale and depth of that game is unlike anything I'd seen before. Wanna go to the top of that mountain? Sure thing. Abandoned city under the ice? Yep. So many different environments and factions and secrets to discover. And you hit the nail on the head with the music. Some games have notable soundtracks (Halo), but the Skyrim theme is up there with Star Wars and Indiana Jones for me.

I don't play games much anymore.. I wish I did. I still have my GTA V online but even that I don't play much.

It’s still a great game, especially if you queue up with your buddies and have a good time.

PUBG has really captured my attentions

it’s really the only game that my friends and I have hopped on to play together in the last few years

I'm a huge sucker for star wars games. Played all the lego star wars games as a kid, some of the original battlefront games on PS2. Battlefront 2 2017 is worth playing if you haven't yet. No play to win mechanics, like 70 maps, tons of game modes, HvV has really good fighting mechanics, objective based game modes are really fun. PM me if you play on Xbox. Jedi Fallen Order is really good, somewhat like dark souls. Will throw money at Battlefront 3 when it inevitably is released.

Skate 3, Skyrim, GTA V are all classics too.

I would kill for LucasArts to return. 2000s era of Star Wars games were amazing. I was let down by the first Battlefront remake, so I'll have to give Battlefront 2 a try.

I enjoyed Jedi Fallen Order too. However, it felt like a reskin of Uncharted and Tomb Raider, and imo those games did the third-person exploration genre a little better. If we weren't so starved for Star Wars content, I don't know if Jedi Fallen Order would've gotten the same level of praise. That being said, I hope they make a second one!

Disney spanked EA for the loot box mess of BF2's launch and there's tons of content now. Sucks EA ended live service in june to send developers to work on Battlefield 6 but there were still a lot of good updates. Lucasfilm Games is now a thing and Ubisoft is apparently working on an open world game to release when the EA exclusivity deal ends.
