What's on your mind - Ladies edition

Getting kinda annoyed because people are getting mad at me for not talking to them a lot while I'm abroad. First off, the time difference is 9 hours..not ideal. Secondly, I'm having fun and don't want to be attached to my phone constantly. Also! I explained to everybody before I left that I wouldn't be talking to them a whole lot!!

Well my parents, so I understand that but still they're mad at me saying I'm not talking to them enough... I message them every 2-3 days just checking in though. Like what else do they want? Then some friends in their 20's are irritated about it too. Like they're taking it very personally. As if I'm talking to everybody except for them all the time? Like no

The parents are more understandable since I know some parents can get almost paranoid (I'm a third child so luckily I think all paranoia was exhausted with my 2 siblings haha) but the 20+ y/o's is a bit nuts... I think you'd need to be a little insecure to think that someone not replying so much cause they're on their holidays is something to be taken personally?! I think in the age of social media and everyone being on their phones 24/7 it's weird as f to some people that not EVERYONE checks their phone constantly and actually like to be out and doing stuff without being attached to their phones/instagram/fb etc all the time.

Yeah I think that's exactly what it is too. I mean I'm thankful that I have people in my life who care about me and want to hear from me, but geeze I'm just trying to enjoy my time. The only person who doesn't annoy me is Danielle hahaha

I just wouldn't worry about it dude. Everybody knows that you're out on this great adventure. It's fun going off the grid, and you'll be back in just a lil over a month. Tell them to sack up and let you live and enjoy everything and everyone you meet, and then you get to come back to wack ass Reno and tell all of us about it.

Can anyone recommend a road cycling helmet? It is tough to buy one online. Smith looks great but also a pretty penny.. anyone have a brand they like that's somewhere in the middle? Can't bring myself to buy a bell.

When I still lived in Bozeman it was a MSU football day and I went to the store and got tampons, cat food, ice cream and a bottle of wine. The cashier made fun of me. Everyone else in there was getting tailgating supplies

I just got out of an interview that I was super nervous for, and it went SO well and I am so excited and it might actually work out and holy shit. I feel like I'm still high on interview adrenaline.

my boyfriend and I got accepted to move in to our new apartment!! Was sweating a little bit because we have like no credit whatsoever and we might have had to pay an extra security deposit($1900 plus 915 for first month!) which would have been bad - I don't think we would have been able to do it. But we don't have to worry about that anymore and now we get to move in on Monday yayyy!!!

I was able to get my epipens (or at least the generic ones) for $59 instead of the $612 and I am fucking stoked, because I would have just taken my chances if they cost that much.

It's not skiing but Torstein's new drone edit is pretty incredible;

On a skiing related note, I started using Neutrogena's body oil after I shave/shower and I no longer get itchy shins when I ski. I highly recommend it if you get dry itchy skin where your ski boots rub.

If I can make it till next Thursday, ill be done with college and graduated, working full time as a freestyle coach, and living only 20 min from the mtn in a new place with my best friends who work at the mtn too. Until then, Im not sure how im going to survive these anatomy finals. holy shit.

Awesome. She was my mountain bike coach at the Liv ladies ride a couple of summers ago. She shreds on a bike, and seems like a cool person in general. I would love to have a fraction of her skill. Fyi DH mountain biking is about where free skiing was 10 years ago, it's really just starting to come into it's own, especially the women's side of things.
 
I lawn darted a hidden log tree skiing today and now my shin has a grapefruit sized bruise on it. Could have been a lot worse. But I probably haven't learned my lesson, I will be back in the trees tomorrow no doubt. Merry Christmas everyone! Stay safe out there.

Right ladies

What’s your favourite THIN ski socks

I used to swear by my ordovox wool ones but they’re a little on the thick side. My snowboard boots are giving me hassles with them (the sock is gathering under my foot and it HURTS)

So fave thiner boot socks xx
 
ahhhh you guys I've been seeing this boi and he's rad. he's 10000x cooler than me though so I know it's not gonna end up being anything but dang I missed just hanging out with someone that makes me feel good and alive and stoked. he's so pure! we've traded books and beers and gone to see live music and he walked my cat with me. kinda in love.

on another note, I got called off of work today and I'm taking the day to catch up on homework and little things. at work we do this 'daily gratuity' thing during our morning meetings where we all stand in a circle and share what we're grateful for that day. on days that I don't work I love just saying it to myself in the shower or something - it's a sweet way to start ya morning. anyway, thx for reading.
