What's on your mind - Ladies edition

I haven't seen my boyfriend in four weeks and it looks like it's gonna be another two or three until I finally do. He was supposed to visit me for my birthday yesterday and a bunch of shit came up and he couldn't come out here (I'm in Utah, he's in Oregon) and I just really really miss him.

I get to see my boyfriend for the first time in six weeks tonight and i'm seriously so fucking excited holy cow

A while ago I posted about how I couldn't lose weight despite eating lighter and working out 5-6 times per week.

Well, I've been about the same weight since. And this past week in whistler I suddenly lost 8% of my body weight in 7 days(12 pounds). Which I don't understand because I honestly ate shitty/greasy food all week, drank A LOT of beer and skied. I'm not complaining haha, but I don't understand haha. 12 pounds is a lot... Hopefully I can keep it up!

No mystery there. Skiing at Whistler is way more of a workout than skiing anywhere else. Even skiing often here in Washington does not prepare me for the workout I get skiing at Whistler. On top of the runs themselves being pretty long and the express lifts being quite fast, I think it's the village that really pushes you over. It gets late in the day and you decide you've had enough, time to go back to the hotel. But wait, you can't download, because only chumps download, so now you're committed to doing another 5k vert because that's how far it is from the top all the way down to the village. Only 5k vert is the equivilant of doing 4 more runs at my mountain. So by the time you get to the bottom you are pretty wrecked, and can barely stagger back to your hotel. Whistler is one hell of workout.

The feels, 4 weeks down, 4 more to go.

School has consumed my life this quarter and I've had no time to ski, take photos, or do much else besides sit at my desk or go to work.

Lesson to those younger, don't wait until you're a fully functioning adult to go back to school. I love education, but it it so much harder this time compared to when I was young and reckless and cared less about my credit score.

Why do people who are not in school or not working complain about mondays? Like isn't that just another day for you? Chyll out.

Protect your head!

Feel like a real life adult for actually listening to the doctor and stopping skiing. If you have a concussion don't mess with it, almost two years down the road and can't even tap my head and not get my symptoms back. Here goes a year without free skiing.

What do I do with my life now?

Hey! I had to take a year and 1/2 off skiing after a TBI. Take up other crafts/hobbies to get you thru it.

Hey thank you! It's nice to hear it can be done sanely hah. Guess it's not such a bad idea to expand my interests. Kind of learned to sew some stuff last year so maybe I'll get into something like that!

I can imagine that is a tough choice to make but go you for doing what is best for you. Good luck!

Reading 42 pages is not bad.

Reading 42 pages in a text book with 3 rows of writing is, in fact, bad.

I heard there was discussion around here about The Bachelor... don't see it. Definitely a guilty pleasure that's just a good reason to get me and my girl friends together when we wouldn't otherwise remember to during busy school periods.

I'm eating cookie dough ice cream and thats great and I'm headed to Grand Targhee tomorrow and thats even more great

Last night I saw how shitty all of my "friends" are.

Literally SO two faced to each other. I just sat in the background watching while they went on and on about drama. And as soon as someone would leave/enter the conversation the entire dynamic shifted towards or away from that person. It is disgusting how much shit they were talking about their "friends."

So there's another group of friends I will no longer associate with. I am convinced I will never find good people in my life because everyone is so fucking shitty here. It's so disgusting.

Speaking of shitty friends, it drives me fucking nuts how kids harass you whenever you post anything on this site. I swear every post of yours gets quoted and turned against you somehow, no matter how irrelevant it is to the original post or what you said. At least from what I see.

Seriously. That's been bothering/ confusing me for years.

Speaking of shitty friends. Ok they aren't shitty, they're the best friends on earth, but I HATE BABYSITTING AND CLEANING UP AFTER THEM ALL THE TIME FAAAACK.

On the list of things that make me sad, this is included. Basically in general on this site from time to time. Haterz are not a threatened species here.

My inclination to post on newschoolers increases significantly when I'm drunk. Right now I'm drinking a fat bloody mary for dinner before my night public speaking class. Also, I finally got around to watching the emma v. coco slvsh episode and it was great and they should do more of these with women.

I've been on a crazy bloody mary kick as of late. So good.

It's hilarious because I share another account which I post the same stuff on... I actually have posted the same arguments on both and this account gets downvored, but even with the same arguments written by the same person, the other account gets up voted. It's just because I'm me. It doesn't matter what I say, since I'm the one who said it, it's wrong. Hahahaha. Oh well. It is what it is. They can talk all the shit they want. I'm still gonna ski and I'm still gonna do me. (: soooo they can go fuck themselves ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

I have to watch wind at the top of one of our lifts today and the shark week cramps are real. I might die up here.

omg though I have not heard the term shark week before. What a great addition to my vocabulary.

Anyone listen to any podcasts? Doesn't necessarily have to be skiing related, although I have been recently been listening to the LPP (low pressure podcast). I tend to find myself in long car rides by myself and these make the time go by. Anybody have any good suggestions?

YES I'm not the only one! I kill my hair every time.

I cut my hair super short last week because I couldn't handle this anymore (it was to the middle of my back). Showers take about half as long now and it takes all of 30 seconds to comb my hair out. Feels so good, couldn't be happier.

My hair is down to my butt. I'm way too attached to cut it hahahaha

Ladies I can't stress how important basic mechanical knowledge is. It's seriously the best feeling being able to fix things on your own, saves time and money and makes it way easier to be independent. I was talking to one of the bartenders at my second job and she doesn't even know how to change a tire, like seriously? Everyone should know how to do that, plus how to check fluids in their car, change the oil etc. Basic household shit too. Everyone should have a simple tool set, by simple I mean a screwdriver, crescent wrench, hammer and pliers etc.

Sorry for the rant, just drives me nuts seeing girls go on and on about being independent then anytime something breaks they run to the nearest man and ask for help.

Preach! Most of all the girls I've ran into in college, even my roommates used to think it was weird that I change my own oil, do other work on my jeep or know how to fix things around the house but I'm the first one they run to when something goes wrong and they can't help themselves. Glad I'm not the only girl out there that doesn't think that having basic real world skills is normal. Props to you for actually being independent!

what did she throw??? who won??? arghhhh

Lisa won with a Switch 720 tail and cork 720 I believe?? Maybe the cork was Emma. They both looked good and happy nobody threw straight 540s :)

There were 3 runs and top 2 counted. Fenway was a pretty sweet venue even though the athletes didn't seem too hyped about the kicker and landing that was a sheet of ice!
