There will always be people pushing a trend and trying to do it in a way that nobody else has. Especially in a niche like park skiing, where style (including fashion) is a significant focus. Expect to see even more crazy pants, because now that the patterns/colors/styles of today are established, people will have to go even further outside the box to stand out. Pants will get baggier and crazier until the trend ultimately becomes played out, and we see the pendulum swing in a different direction.

yoga pants are going to be in style in a couple years, gotta go complete opposite.
 
I feel like they're just trying to create cool baggy pants, but they're not making them heavy enough and they fill up like a hot air balloon. Look, I'm not a hater anymore, but seeing a group of kids coming down the mountain with them giant ass parachute pants makes me roll my eyes.

There is a vast difference between baggy and the parachute pants. The current style looks straight from H&M.

Huge pants with a tiny jacket looks so mentally fucking challenged it’s my biggest pet peeve. If you’ve got huge pants, your hoody/jacket should be huge too…
