Here's my thoughts.
You're using leg press, if you use leg press and squat, you're an idiot. Leg press does the same, but not as well as squatting.
If you're just using leg press, you're an idiot, it's a stupid machine. Just like the leg extension.
 
You are the idio sir. there is not hurt in VARIETY. There's a reson why i could only do 400lbs after ski season. and while i was lifting and weight trainingoff season i can now do 800. does that ring a bell to you? something clearly happened that i can do double the amount now.
 
i'm going to disagree here. you can position your feet/legs differently on a leg press to isolate certain heads/muscles that may need more improvement. that's a lot harder to do with squats as you greatly increase the risk of injury.
 
You have 3 muscles that comprise the quadricep, vastus lateralis/vastus intermedius/vastus medialis
All three of these are activated by squatting.
There is no fucking way you can isolate a different part of your quadricep, it all works together in unison. Physiologically speaking it is impossible.

You need to have a body that is uniform. Large upper body+Large lower body=properly built physique. Having a huge upper body and tiny little legs makes you look like a gorilla. but having both just looks badass.

And what makes you think that i'm not properlly proportioned. because i can curl 50 lbs and press 800lbs and on and on and on?
 
Because the girl in my personal fitness class can leg press 650, and she's..not very big. I can curl 50s and I have tinyyyyy littleeeee biceps. If you can squat over 300 I'd be impressed, but you probably can't, because you're afraid of it, like you're afraid of deadlifting or any exercise that actually works.

I do 3x12 or 5x5, for everything else I do cluster training, I don't take biceps seriously, shit's useless.

You're obviously afraid of squatting, because you're not doing it. There is no reason on Earth a person with access to a spotter, barbell and a squat rack should not be doing squats, barring a mobility limiting leg injury.
It's 150 lbs, she's a 140 lb volleyball player. You've probably got a good 30 lbs on her, oh wait, you have no lower body mass because you don't squat.
I just turned 17 on the 11th, been training seriously for about a year, before that just with my football team.

oh and what has skiing done for me?probably ruined my life... and my liverbut I'm happy, so that's all that really matters.
 
Atleast we have something in common. But i do take biceps seriously. And once i think oabout it it's just a personal preference there is no need to bulk up my lower body because i'm fine and i preform exeptionally the way i am right now. and i'm 154lbs.

There's my answer. I do not play football. every football,volleyball player has massive legs, also depends on what position you play. I swim, ski, kayak, motocross. Those do not require leg strength except skiing and a tiny bit of moto.
 
im 5'10, 172 pounds, rep 275 on bench for 6, and i dont feel like going into other workouts, im drinking a loko gettin ready to go out, if ANYONE is down in VA at james madison universty, lemme know, we gotta g out this week

so the QUADriceps are only composed of three muscles each? hmm.
and being that each of the muscles serve a slightly different purpose, you mean to tell me that I can't work one of the 4 muscles harder than the other three by changing my footing, thus creating a slightly different press? it's funny because my experience tells me differently. it's w/e though.
 
Sorry I forgot the Rectus Femoris, you can't really activate it very well though. You've never seen someone say to a bodybuilder "OMG YOUR RECTUS FEMORIS IS AMAZING, HOW DID YOU SCULPT THAT?"
It's because it sorta sits in behind the other ones, and is hard to access.
I'm telling you that you can't. Physiology tells you that you can't, any experience otherwise is bullshit and just in your head.
 
Like fuck they aren't, I know even Lebron James squats. Yao Ming had a special squat rack built just for him, so he could squat. Those are two tall motherfuckers.

Not much because in the winter I just stop working out because of skiing. Also there is a fairly large part of the top of my leg that has no feeling anymore.

stop being a hero on newschoolers buddy you are so single minded. who gives a fuck about definition? what a dumb comment just because you want to be a porker who only cares about his numbers does not mean everyone else should have the same mindset as you. just because you like power lifting more than bodybuilding does not make you the most knowledge person in the gym. who really cares how much you bench when you get outside the gym. if only you were as big as your ego is. i bet your numbers are brutal also for your bodyweight
 
I'll be the first to admit my bench is garbage. I row more than I bench, and my lats are physically impressive. My chest, is small and pigeony, when I press it's all tris.
 
I don't work out, but I can do squats with two of my friends on my shoulders no problem, and they aren't the lightest people I know. It hurts my shoulders though.

Other than making my legs really strong and sexy, It's given me weak as shit arms in comparison to my legs since I don't work out. My core's pretty decent, too, but the winter gives me an appropriate layer of cold protection. I adapt to my environment! :D

Also my cardio for leg stuff has gotten good, because even though bomb runs don't take long, kick turns down narrow chutes are a good cardio workout if you stay in a consistent rhythm. They're a weird cardio thing though, since it's intense bursts for a prolonged period of time... kind of like doing intense jumps with extra weight strapped to your feet for prolonged periods of time.
