the lancers are FWD...thats one thing the regular NA imprezas have over lancers...is it has a center differential to make it AWD, so they are easier to turn into a STI because all you have to upgrade is harness, brakes, suspension, and engine.
you cant make a lancer into an evo short of literally getting rid of the entire frame/subframe and just having a metal body to start with...then building the car from the ground up. (which not many people can afford...)
 
evo beats STI, evo out of the cars u got there.. if u pick up a 350z youve got to be aware that they are NOT a forced induction car. That means no stock turbo which means your going to spend another 4-6 grand putting a turbo kit on it. pick up a FD rx-7.. or you could try to import a r34 skyline with that much loot ^^. obiously i think everyone knows that the 350z is just a basic motor, ofcourse it has no turbo.

Buy an rx7 as a project car, when you have lots of money, dont buy it when you're an ns'er making basic wages.

You cannot import an R34 skyline due to import laws and regulations. and you cannot import a silvia, which i suppose your talking about the s15.

i did read the thread douche bag, you asked for a rwd or awd car, a vette offers a shitload of power for cheap. at least im not like the dumbasses that keep saying get a gti theyre so kewl. fuckwad.
 
z06's can outperform european cars that cost twice as much. people that hate on corvettes havent driven one. they are one of the best track car platforms out there. and stock to stock, will outhandle the majority of porsches, bmw's etc..
of course im talking about the newest two generations, and z06's specifically. you may be right about some of the 80's models being a pos.
 
Sti, those things are nothing but reliable, 3 of my friends have the,=m, 2 of them beat the shit out of them with aftermarket parts and coilovers(lowers the car), its still pretty reliable for them but my other friend is deeply in love with his sti. you could even go for a wrx and save a couple grand...

you should get a 240 and swap and rb25 in it. 2-6 grand for the car. about 5 grand for the engine. and howevermuch for the swap. depends on where u are. but alot cheaper and alot faster than anything you have there. except maby the sti
 
Well I haven't done any research but I'm willing to bet he's not gonna find an S4 with low miles for under 20 grand, the b5 s4's are the bi-turbo'd V6 and most of them have a shit load of miles like 120000 or so and by that time the repair costs are pretty rediculous because you have to replace timing belts and water pumps and all that good stuff that goes on an Audi about every 60000 miles and I donno about in the states but up here in Canada it cost me $1200 for that and that doesn't include other maintenance the ones that have low miles still go for about 26 grand. and the newer models (02-06) which are about the only half decent S4 he could afford maybe in the 20 grand range were V8's so they aren't turbo'd and the newest S4's are out of his budget but do have a turbo. But, remember anything with a forced induction is going to cause more maintenace then a naturally aspirated vehicle.
Why does everybody love BOV's so much? They are hardly beneficial and if you ask me I would much rather have a DV because it channels the excess air back into being put to use.
Although S2000's and 350Z's are sick they seem impractical unless you live in Orange County or have another vehicle. The Sube is an obvious good choice, look for an unmodded one though and make sure that the owner isn't a young guy who is trying to get rid of it because he cracked the block. Just search around for a good one. The Evo is sick! Don't really know them that well but I dig them.
