mini flip at end would be switch misty 7 if you're pretending youre on skis

Absolutely stoked that I got to warranty my Smax 130s for another set of Smax 130s. Since I bought a different pair of Smax 130s this spring when I thought the boot was going extinct that means I'll have Smax 130s for at least another 2 years which is amazing.

Stoked about getting my spine readjusted today. It was 9.5° off not exactly ideal. Hopefully this makes skiing and biking less painful then it has been recently

It's ski movie season!

Super stoked for the Moment factory party. My buddies and I got our tickets this week. Excited to see what they have planned on Friday.

I got tickets for the QST Tour up in Tahoe next month. It was surprisingly great last year. Got a few more movie plans in the works too. I love ski movie season.

2 more shifts in the hospital before I start in the operating room. Can’t fucking wait. I’m a little sad because I wanted to help sick people but it’s just not worth it to be abused to some degree every shift. Luckily, I’ll still have some patient contact(about 10-20 minutes per patient) but the majority of the time they will be asleep and can’t yell at me. Woo!

Any tips for dealing with upset patients? Getting grilled by them as I try to asses them is scaring me haha, I don't want to lose focus. But its still a bad day for them so I get it but still. Im just a wee little rookie patroller.

You kinda want PA school more than skiing at this point so send it. Snow and skis will always be there but you can't pass up invaluable experience opportunities. Plus the paycheck too dude. You'll be able to ski anywhere you want.

Well yeah lol

also I was gonna chime in about your question above but I just talk to old people all day so the fuck do I know about emergent situations tbh

It's an experience but I mostly deal with the pediatric, young adult, and some adults that decide to goose it a bit too much.

The peds experience has been cool. I'm a ski coach so I get what its like to be a kid and hurt. My goal is to get them to you guys and make mom and dad happy haha.

2 things to remember: you didn’t make them sick or get them hurt. And then having a shitty day doesn’t mean they can be an asshole to you. They’ll swear, be blunt, say stuff without filter, etc. but no matter what they should not be abusing you or harassing you.

And at some point you just ignore it. You pretty much always prioritize physical health over mental. You can’t not treat, assess, etc because they need someone to talk to in the moment. In a perfect world you can address everything at once but you can’t. The best thing I can tell ya to do is talk through everything you’re doing(it helps you at first and also the patient). You’ll address anxieties and fears in the process and answer questions before they’re asked. But unfortunately sometimes it’s just not the priority

Dude it’s the opening act and Declan and the drummer are standing literally 10 feet from us vibing with a beer leaning against the wall

I went to Blackwater Holylight's show in SLC and yeah, all the bandmembers were chilling with the crowd watching the opener. Thats why I love live music haha. Shit is so rad.

patients like boundaries the way kids do, they might act upset or verbally attack you but at the end of the day they want you to be consistent, reliable, and firm. be nice and use your social skills, try to read what kind of communication a patient will respond best to. but stand your ground, speak clearly, do what you need to to get your job done
