Honestly doubt it will work as that is technically against the Bill of Rights and the First Amendment and the right to assembly. They aren't protesting with guns or creating a riot then they TECHNICALLY aren't doing anything wrong.

So, someone close to you dies. Everybody on this website goes to the funeral and protests saying that your family does not deserve a funeral or any respect for what you believe and torments your family while they are trying to mourn their loss. You would not be bothered at this?
 
The bill stipulates something to the effect of, no one can protest a funeral, and hour before nad after the service, within a certain distance.

This is well within the bill of rights.

Regarding the AZ law:
Me and my friend were having the conversation the other day. How nice would it be if there was a law against just general stupidity? There would be so many problems this would solve. Obviously it wouldn't be a serious crime, just a misdemeanor with jailtime ranging from a week to a year or so (depending on the stupidity, WBC would get a year).
It would also stop a lot of the BSing of laws that occurs now.

what did i miss? its about testing the law. pushing people to where they want to fuck you up, but you have the law on your side. its about sensitivity to people who are hurt. People at fuenrals are hurt, does that mean you go picket it? A huge disaster in american history, does that mean you build a mosque near those very grounds? no it doesnt. it means you have some fucking common sense and decency.
 
Was it the performing arts center, the culinary school, or the swimming pool that made you mad? The fact that people are mad is a testament to the ridiculous amount of racism that is alive and well in America. Say the WBC got a little more crazy and bombed Chicago. Would you oppose a Christian community center going up near the site? If not then shut the fuck up and come to terms with your racism.
 
putting it bluntly does not mean having a blatant disregard for people's beliefs. i respect your beliefs and would certainly honor your wish that once you've passed i can do such things as defecate on your face and toss your lifeless body into the grand canyon. the issue is that you're outright disrespecting these people's religious beliefs and their right to have a funeral and properly bury their loved ones within the scope of their religion. their right to hold a funeral far supersedes the WBC's right to protest the funerals. i understand you're merely being a prick to get a rise out of others, but your points are ridiculously invalid.

also, you have every right to disagree with the war in Iraq and if you choose to do so by bashing soldiers by referring to them as murderers and downplaying the honor in fighting for one's country then so be it. Just know that when the shit hits the fan, and you're pussy ass doesn't have the balls the defend yourself, your family, or your country, these people will be putting their lives directly in harms way to ensure that some foreign country doesn't turn your fucking world upside down and fuck you sideways with a lunchbox. good day.

My beliefs on the military, soldiers, and killing have nothing to do with the "wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's the immorality of it. I don't expect you to understand that. It's probably a little above your head. "when shit hits the fan". Yeah, i could also be hit by a meteor and killed tomorrow. I'm still never going to wear a helmet in day to day life. Look at my last post about what-ifs. Maybe some day they could do something for me. But look at what they are ACTUALLY doing right now and over the past 40 years.

I'm sorry, the 1st amendment invariably supersedes hurt feelings. The cultural center should only have to pass zoning regulations, not a verdict handed down through nationwide histrionics. (This is coming from someone who lost many dear friends on 9/11.)

If they ever come to SLC, I'm setting them on fire, because unlike the rest of you bleeding hearts, I believe the 1st Amendment should only be afforded to those who will NOT abuse it by putting out logically faulty or borderline criminally intolerant speech or behavior strictly bent on denying others' rights. I know you all want to seem PC by allowing them to speak, but frankly, I could give a damn about political correctness in this situation. it's disrespectful, and it shouldn't be allowed to go on any further without violent intervention.
