Man I enjoy football (U.S.) just as much as the next person, but it takes no intelligence. Lift weights, run fast, run where they told me to, block who they told me to. Quarterback is the only legitimate position in the whole game. The rest have like a total of three jobs that only take strength or athletecism to do.

Where as football (rest of world) actually is a mind game with passion. Recently one of the greatest matches I've ever seen was on Chelsea v. Man U. There was so much heart and theatrics in that game noone could have been bored watching it. Just take the time to notice how much is going through a soccer players head next time you watch it. A good 20 things rush through their head with options of what they can do.

All Americans are gonna get a big crush on soccer in the future, it'll happen.
 
we didn't have landon donovan and john terry had something to prove after single-handedly losing the champions league final for chelsea. btw, this was the predicted outcome.

first off, this was i think the worst. how was that a great game? 60 mins of the game involved nothing. not even a close shot. the game was stupid. the 1st overtime, again nothing. 2nd was more interesting, but still started slow. then it ended on pk's. none of the commonly known greatest game's ever end on pk's. thats just dumb
 
A PK that could have been won by the team captain but slipped on the wet surface...yeah thats not theatrics. One of the...wait....the TOP Chealsea player being thrown out of the game....yeah you're right, so boring.

I guess it's my love of Man U that got me into this game, but I could only imagine just how crazy it would be to watch the match in England, that would probably change someone's life.

If you're gonna get ejected at least punch him in the face or something and make it worth it, or just have a bit of control and not hit them in the first place. Soccer is pretty boring to watch, and you exaggerate the amount of thinking way too much. It's the same amount of thinking as in basketball or hockey.

FYI, football doesn't take as much thinking as other sports like soccer or basketball for some positions, but it's a game of pure athleticism. When you have some of the best athletes in sports, theres no way you can get bored when they play the game at such a high speed.

hmm i don't know about that, i can't claim to be a usa football expert (im a brit) but iv tried to get into a few games, and it bored the tits off me. the steroid filled "refeidgeraters" who were playing were restricted to one of the slowest ball games iv seen, every 10 seconds was interupted by an ad break and a new play. i found it massively boring.

each to their own i guess but for me, american football minus all the bull shit = rugby.
 
you call football a high speed game? Hardly. I know football players who even admit that it has to be the slowest game played. It's fast for maybe 10 seconds, at most. Then they slap each other's asses, and stand around for 5 minutes. I like watching american football a decent amount, but i think i would take a European soccer match over that any day. I've never seen a touchdown that could even come close to matching a nice goal. Something like a volley shot into the upper 90 or just a perfect touch.
 
I guess since England are such garbage in international competition, the only thing they can brag about is that they can beat a CONCACAF team at Wembly? Thats just sad. I hope the most overrated team in international football enjoys watching the Euro 2008 from their couches.
 
Haha, the English national team is a joke. I believe it was Gerrard who scored off a Lampard pass as well. Scum may have been a bit harsh as it is a term I'd usually reserve for the likes of Spurs.

Also, all you Americans can keep your shitty sports that only you play. A large majority of the world doesn't give a shit about baseball, American football or basketball; keep alienating yourselves towards idiocy.
