IM happy with Charles winning. tanner run was sick too but not sick enough, but watch Jon's run, he should have at least gotten silver, if not gold. SO smooth and stylish.

In practice, I saw Jon throw Switch 180 daffy's and cossacks.....I got a kick out of it. Then he threw down some switch 10s for good measure, doing a different grab everytime. The best skier of our generation. I mean who wins X-Games medals, WSI Big Air, and an IFSA Big Mtn. comp in Sweden?

i think he didn't win because it was his first run. judjes just couldn't give him an unbeateble score in the first run. but he deserves to win

 
it was definetely the smoothest run out there, and after I watched it and saw the score I knew he was robbed. However, I don't think it was technical enough to beat Gagnier's run, but it should have been a silver.

West is Best.
 
How was it more technical? Just because of the switch 270 vs. reg 270? Because Jon's looked flawless, whereas Charles came out of it a bit sketch. Granted, Gagnier threw down more switch stuff, but Jon mixed it up, threw in a bunch of different grabs, and spun both ways. Plus, his 1080 was flawless... I thought Gagnier's was a tad on the hucked side, and he barely got the last 180 around. Watch them again... after about 2 dozen looks at all three runs, I would have put CG in third. It was a good run, but It didn't look as good, or have that much more tech in it than T$'s or Jon's (A fair bit less than Tanner's, really... 450-270?)

I know we're all going to bitch about judging no matter what, but that's just my opinion on that one. Jon always seems to get screwed.

he shouldnt of won, he shouldve gotten second. tanners run was decent, but kinda i dunno sketch, jons run was so much tighter and smoother

That doesnt make sense he got robbed cuz hes not American neither is Charles. OOO well i dont think the judging was as bad as everyone claims just that the judges saw things dif just like all of us on here!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

if you see the podiums you can see that jon is always 3º and the 1º and the 2º are from northamerica. It's casuality??

If you see the points on the video winter x games archieves you can see that the olsson run are the most high of points.

Jon has been rob always in x games.

charel fakie 270 was unnatural too. Jon press wasnt convincing at all so lets say they tie on the first two features if you dont like one footers... I do so i think that charle was better on the rails

then on the jumps,

Charle was incredibly smooth and stomped the shit out of every landings without even moving his knees (except for the last 10) and all the tricks were smooth as hell with no sketching in the grabs.

Jon as doing great tricks but just not as smooth and technical as charle so charle have a bit of advantage there.

So charle won over jon..

and if you compare tanner to them, the rails were a bit better (450-270) then he sketched out on some jumps... so he should not have gotten any higher then jon

^Again, I disagree... Jon's unnat 270 disaster was much smoother than CG's sw270, unnatty or not. But even if you give them the tie on the rails, you have to be kidding me when you say that CG was smoother. Jon oozed style, and his landings were effortless. Did you see the switch 10? Watch again, he makes it look easy. As for technique, Jon had 2 unnatty tricks to Gagnier's one, one of which was that ridiculous switch 7. I don't know how you can argue that Gagnier won on the bottom of the course. The 10s alone should be enough to convince you otherwise.

wee could argue for a long time on this cause it comes to their style difference.

I like charle long grabbing and totally stomped tricks better then jon text book grabs that are not that technicals (in his run)

they both had ridiculous runs but i think charle deserved to win. and jon definatly didnt deserved to be scored lower then tanner

i think they both had pefect landings all the way down and gagniers sw 270 was an unnat grind but i was talking about jon spinning unnaty, grinding is a lot less difficult than spinning, i think they might be too close to call but hall def should have gotten 3rd or lower

Gangier's unnaty 7 was far beyond Jon's unnatty 7 in terms of style.

Sure, maybe Jon was smoother, but that's only half of what we define as 'style.' Gangier tweaks the hell out of his grabs and holds them the entire spin, wheras Jon wasn't as good in this area.

Smoothness is only half of style.

Candide won in superpipe only. Jon olsson also won in super pipe the first year.

The round of candide that year was so incredible that if he wouldn't have won it's to kill the judges.

 
the way the podium was was the right choice. my only beef with jon and charles was that htey only did one trick unnat. where as tanner did 3 i beleive. mabey charles did 2 idk.

I really like tanners ideas to only go 7 and 9 and make sure they are tweaked and stomped.

But charles put it out there and it payed off, similair to simons attitude about go for gold or nothing. He was shocked at the bottom but immediately taken out of his element by 4peat fans claiming robbery, made charles to have to defend his own run immediately - 'the 10 true tail maybe'

Jon should have scrapped the 360 box for something more techhyy and he would have broken his curse, both times he came off early, doesn't matter if he is on tails or not.

if only jon hadnt fallen on his second run...that was gold, easy.

i think hall def should have beat gagnier, gagnier threw a damn switch 3 on the hip.

tanners rails were better than jon's in both runs, cuz jon looked pretty sketch on the kink box, whether he meant to press it or not.

my conclusion: jon would have owned them if he hadnt fallen, but i think tanner beat gagnier.

theres no way jon should have won!! he blew his switch up on the flat down box. you cant win gold if you come off of a flat down box early. charles' run was flawless. tanner put his hands down on the last booter. placing was definately accurate.

 
ECFreeski, NO ONE was impressive on the first Rail. And I agree about the switch 3, no one's pointed that out yet. Looked ok, but does it beat a smoother switch 7, that didn't require turning switch off the 2nd rail beforehand? Doubt it.

You have someone else telling you what is cool, when, in reality, what you think is cool is what really matters. Jon was sick, but look at Halls and Gagnier's grabs...just beautiful. T got more face between runs not bc he's American, but because of the 4-peat. I thought it was funny how he kept flipping his sunglasses...can you say product placement? I think the deciding factor was rails anyways.
