Was PYB a joke?

I dunno, all the riders seemed to be spinning all 4 ways off pretty much every feature, and the variety of shots was really good.

I think you need to look at each trick more closely. Tanner, CR, Pep, & T-Rainville, had sick segments.
 
No the skiing was fine for the most part but the fillers were just absolutely gay. And I'd like to appologize to all homosexuals I mean no disrepect, I know you don't act like those kids.
 
man just cuz someone listens to hip hop and wears baggy clothes doesnt make them less of a person so why hate a movie because it is based around a culture that you dont follow. the skiing is amazing no matter what clothes you wear
 
wtxh tbc for a sick sojndtrack and wicked parts. i loves sean pettit's part with the subway bag on his head and tanner with his wicked reggae. so sick
 
watch the loose canon productions edits in the bonus they are rediculous. Some of them should be dead by now. Hole in leg from glass wheelchair guy is pretty extreme
 
that music video made me want to shoot myself! Anyway, I think that C.R.'s skit was by far the worst. I thought rainvilles was good because for one, it wasnt gangsta, and two, it made for some sick editing. Chris Biollo's skit was pretty dumb also. The intro was by far the worst though.
 
Did I say anything about Hiphop? I mean they are wearing bandanas on their face shootin dice in the alley. You don't think it's silly when people are trying to be something they are not? Little kids emulate their behavior and get beat up for it, I think they are doing a diservice to impressionable kids nationwide. Ohh but the little bow-wow song KICKED FUCKING ASS, I hope I hear more of that in future videos
 
ya i was really dissapointed with this movie.. 28 min long... WTF took so long to ship it if this movie is the shortest of all movies i have in my collection
 
Yeah even though I was remotely pleased it was over, I was really suprised that it was so short, if you factor in all the filler material, there couldnt have been more than 10 minutes of skiing in that whole movie. Let's focus a little more on the skiing and a little less on the lifestyle of those mac daddy pimped out players from the street who know how to get theirs.
 
see, this is exactly what he is trying to do. that is why his company is called "The Bigger Picture" because they want to incorporate the lifestyle of skiing into skiing. look at other sports like surfing, they have actual movies that the professionals are main actors in. I think its great that we are opening doors for professional skiers to be able to make the kind of money that a professional athlete should be making. and i'm sorry if you think that shootin dice and such is only for "real gangsters" but at my highschool a bunch of rich white kids did it all the time and i'm pretty sure most of them had never even seen tanners movie. and if you look at other skiers, you will see that they are alot more "gangster" style than tanner. tanner has big clothes and wears headbands. peter wears gigantic jerseys, urban turbans, and tries to act way more thuglife than anyone in the industry. it's just his perception of what he wants to ski skiing evolve to. he just likes to have fun man, the movie was fun, even if a little laughable at points, it was fun. i think he probably accomplished the goal he was striving for. i give him mad props for that, and always will show support for someone trying to further the industry even if it comes across as a little goofy at times.
 
Rainville's part was sick, skiing was sick, tanner was sick, club seen was just ghey....I think I blushed on my couch as I was so embarrassed for those guys....
 
Well I guess I just can't relate to people who act like that. It always seemed a bit phoney to me. Thats not how me or my firends act on or off the hill so I suppose the movie wasn't made for people like me. I guess it was directed to the younger crowd out there, because thats who I see emulating the behavior on the hill with the bandanas over the face and what not. When I buy a ski movie I'm not buying it to watch the "lifestyle" of these pros. And even if I did buy movies because I cared about what these guys do in their freetime, I highly doubt thats how they really spend their free time (pouring champagne over girls at clubs n such). The reason surfing lifestyle has become more popular is because it's not cheesey. You don't see people act like that in surf videos, it's more people partying on the beach, having fun and catching waves. It seems like they are trying to sell the lifestyle of a rapper when thats not whats going on behind the scenes. They don't get paid that much they shouldn't act like it's all money, bitches and partying because it's not. They are just trying to sell phoney dreams to these kids out there trying to make it.
 
^excellent point, they werent real lifestyle shots. Lifestyle shots are like in robotfood movies...where they film the guys 24/7 and then use the shots of them fucking around. Setting up a shot at a bar pouring champagne over girls is not lifestyle.
 
many of you have a misperseption of the " THEME " of this movie. Its a club scene, period. Its not like this is the lifestyle of these kids, shiiiiiit. what, you critisize em for throwing dice now too? damn. some a you just disect these movies down to the bone, just crack a brew, roll somethin up, just do whatever it is YOU do and watch the movie straight up.

C-Crew is killin it.
 
rainville was hurt for most of the season.. nelson said that they kept him becuase he is a cool dude and it was like either that or cut him from the flick..and there is no reason to be droppng someone from the line up that's as good of a person as rainville.
 
i liked it better than some skiers getting "soulful" to some emo shit. love it or hate it, but i thought it had some life.

Have you seen NWD: Ride the Lightning? They have a clubbing scene and that is just the setting of the movie. Trust me on this one, it wasn't meant to really be lifestyle shots because they had a real camera crue there shooting it. If you take it as anything else, well pity on your dumb ass.
 
I dont care what it was meant to be, it still is 50% of the movies footage and it wasn't funny, if it's not funny and it's not serious, what the hell is the point? there is more skiing footage in your average x-terra commerical than PYB
 
I agree, a little too BET, but still WAY better than half the shit with B level skiers getting artsy to cheezy emo music. You can't deny it, THall holds it down.
 
Yeah no doubt Tanner was a great skier, we'll see how he does with his first injury (pretty serious one). I'm not talk shit on his or anyone else in PYB's ability as skiers they are sick, but they are making our sport a joke

I haven't seen it and I'm refusing to spend money on it. I was so pissed at the lack of skiing and heaps of bs in WSKI after reading all the hype that I vowed not to give Tanner another dollar of my money.

Once I read some good shit about how one of his videos is all about the skiing and where he's going with the SKIING then I'll spend the money on it.

I've got no problem with him, his BET persona, or what he does as a skier or away from the snow. I just don't want to pay $30 fucking hard earned dollars to watch him dance around and not ski.

dude there's more to his life than skiing. He makes what he wants to make. Do you think he gives a shit what you think? no. I thought they where both sick. Skiing wise and just as a video.
