Just read another thread where someone posted about wallisch being the east (/world's) god, who's the west's?

it's like the Biggie vs. Pac of skiing!
 
obviously its all about perspective. what defines a good skiing in your oppinion. Because simon and Tom both have strenths over Shane and of course vice versa.
 
haha owned. but look at the super unknown winners recently, Tom from PA, Brogan from PA, Vanular is from NY i belive. Not to mention Wesson and LJ from NY, Sean Jordan is going to blow up and he is from PA. Who has the west produced of that Caliber recently? I know they have Shane Mcconkey who is the best to have ever skied but recently it has been the east. This is because they learn on shitty ass parks so as soon as they get out west on nice features they get better extremely fast.
 
I appreciate both styles, but in terms of skiing god, Shane earns that title in my eyes. He's been in the game for so long, and given so much. I still have mad respect for Tom, and what he does will continue to amaze me.
 
im not being a heartless asshole right now but im just saying that i dont think shane would be recognized right now if he didnt die. RIP
 
East vs. West arguments are stupid, it's a matter of preference.

Of course, no matter how much I try to end them, they'll keep going on.
 
I would actually consider Tom to be more of a Tupac character. Both of these gentlemen grew up on the east coast where they gathered the skills necessary to become exceptional in their respective fields. Their blossoming into excellence occurred after they both move out west.

Tupac(Tom) moved to Cali(Utah) at age 17 and joined up with others to form the Digital Underground(4bi9). After some time Tupac(Tom) broke out with a solo album 2pacalyse now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHzY8yAES9s). With help from interscope records (Level 1 productions) executive Ted Fields (Josh Berman) Tupac(Tom) was able to skyrocket into stardom.

I would say Duncan Lake-J133 is biggie. Right now Tupac and Biggie are collabing on some really hot shit, but the beef is soon to begin.

Asian Allen is Big Pun. Removed from the drama, gaining attention. Will die too soon.

Shane McConkey is Johnny Cash.
 
Generally, the better skiers are from the East Coast. If you can ski on ice then you can pretty much ski on anything. What else is there to do on the EC but race and be a park rat. They come out to the West Coast for the soft snow, and they fucking kill it. West Coast skiers kill it, but would rather ski BC than park or groomers. Now if it would only snow...
 
i'm thinking he would be recognized now because who could forget the naked spread eagle or saucer boy? he was a legend before he died and he remained a legend after his death.
