Wake up NS

whhhaaa....

" American doctors and hospitals kill patients

through surgical and medical mistakes more often than their

counterparts in other industrialized nations."

wow...that is quality....and sure we might be innovative..but what good is spending all the money we have for health care innovation and those ever important drugs like viagra.....when 45 million people can't even afford the least innovated medicine....

but i cant vote anyway...so im going to stop arguing...

and i really wanna know how you know all of that you probiblaly just got that from somewhere else. and your calling us lazy ass ski bums i bet you just sit on you ass all day doing nothing.

Public Heath Care available for all - however a serious shortage of public hospital staff/space..Therefore large waiting periods for treatment. Funnded primarily via taxes

Private Health Care - certainly promoted but prices are going up. Private Health care for me is just over $100 per month.

Sure a uniform standard imposed by the government may improve performance in local areas, but it would replace any progress in said field with stagnation. Plus, healthcare should never be required or universalized. The government has NO right to tell us that we need health insurance. Though few would actually not want healthcare if it were required, in the words of Milton Friedman, "the believer in freedom has never counted noses".

I've also been shown research suggesting that France has the best health care system in the world, followed by Italy.

Just a question can anyone prove that Bush is the worst president in history i mean their has been some bad ones?

I belive its all relitive I think his immigration reform was a good idea giving the people who are/were working citizenship and then gaurding the boarder. Also I liked aid he propesed for africa.

Oh if any one can quote where in the constitution it says the president weilds surpreme power over everything?

I personally think that since the Dem's took over congress our country has gone down hill more than when Bush was elected.

hahahahhaa i just recognized who jefferson davis is....

the older ns members will laugh at this...atlantaski...ah shit, ban him again lol

i didnt even read this thread because i try to remain out of political debates and discussions but there are so many of these threads on here now i figured that i would speak my mind.

i think you all pay way too much attention to the executive branch(which has way too much power as it is). vote for senators and reps. and get yourselves some representation because no single man or woman in the white house will ever give you that. the president above all else is just a face, a face for people to blame or a face for them to praise. there is no seperation in the US between the face of our nation and our nations number one diplomat, and this can really pose as a problem as far as our appearance to the rest of the world goes.

i think that we tend forget that the founders of our constitution sought to escape an executive tyrant and as our own executive branch continues to ignore legislative and judicial checks it is very apparent that the constitution seems to be losing its purpose and this has been happening for some time. you cannot give any single man the ability to have operational command of an army, i think that that power needs to be taken away from the president because, it isn't your army, it's his army. anyway i just find it hard to believe that any president, left or right, will be willing to give up the power that is bestowed upon him. if anything he will try and manipulate it so that he gets more, even if in his mind his intentions are good he will be blinded by motives that he thinks will make him look good in the eyes of the world but really just hurt us in the end. thats what the problem is with presidents. they become consumed by their own personal sagas and views from within the eyes of the public that they no longer see the reality of what needs to be done.

but regardless these political threads are fucking dumb.

if you want to read about some fucked up congressmen go www.beyondelay.org

that is all

yes, yes, YES!

want to know what politician i want removed even more then the Dems, Liberal republicans...

those people stabbed their party in the back..

Are you getting off from this or something? HEHE!

Bush is stabbing me in the back right now. He's trying to get everyone to like him.

hahah, that was a great alias, didn't *she* say her dog got hit by a car and then everyone told her she deserved it?

fear fear big words rhetoric prepositional phrases punctuation frustration skewed stats rabble rabble

democrats are fail. People need to think about the good of the country as a whole, even if it means sacrificing a few things.

well if we did put in a universal health care then anyone could go in for any old problem they have...say a person eats too fast and gets a stomach ache, they could go in and get full medical attention while someone with heart failure isnt getting the complete attention they could be having because thats one less doctor and nurse that could be attending to them...im just saying that if we did turn to this type of health care that the quality of our health care would go through the floor....doctors would get paid less which means that the amount of quality doctors would decrease...It just seems like our health care is working fine to me and if you want health care so bad get a job and pay for it, you dont need the govt to just hand everything out to everyone as if they were free samples

I didnt read the whole thread because of this post so i dont know if some one already said this but:

The American dream has nothing to do with immigration?

Almost no American is a native of USA, and the American dream is also the American dream for immigrants.

Secondly Rome fell because it couldnt expand anymore due to geographical limits, and thus its economy couldnt expand any further. Also the final blow was dealed by people who came outside of Rome, not immigrant Romans.

One point to the original post also. What makes you think that the European culture is in such a bad shape? Living in Europe I really havent noticed our culture collapsing at all. We neither have that much immigrants here, and the ones that are here, really arent doing any damage, but instead they are bringing their own culture in here, along with our own.

When I read the first post of this retard J. Davis I knew he is a prick, but this thread has prooven my first imression in a radical way.

I just say ... an empire will never exist forever. So will also the USA and the EU go down sometimes. But I really don not fear any muslim invasion or something, and I live in Austria. It is true, that there are many imigrants in Europe. But I also see the improoving economy in the countries, which are bordering to the EU. They are getting also richer, through the trade with their well heeled neighbors. I think in 20 Years, those countrys will be as far developed, as their inhabitants dont have to emigrant to other countrys anymore.

Maybe if guys like the thread author weren't such greedy bitches, and learned to open up to new ideas and new things, we wouldn't have so many problems in the world right now. If everyone who was rich, and you are in the top 1% or less of people in the world if you make 100$ a day or more, learned to make a little sacrifice, we wouldn't be so fucked right now. Think of global trade right now.

they took our job!! dey took er job!!! dirtooka job!!!!!!!

but seriously, you sound like a racist asshole from the south.

Jarvick heart was invented by Canadians, so was the pacemaker, not to mention pretty much everything else you mention.

Countries with public health care have been known to be the leaders in medical research.

But you guys can claim the viagra......

Jarvick was American, and I'm pretty sure it was made in Utah. And I know other artificial hearts are researched in Alaska, or at least that is where a teacher of mine worked on valves for it.

so i guess we are the only people that saw it lol...i didnt know it was a girl...weird. but saying they he/she deserved the death, sounds true cause every1 hated atlantaski

Wow, I love when people make threads like this when they have no idea what they are talking about. I did 1 minute of research into healthcare rankings, and the World Healthcare Organization ranked the United States 37th and France was number 1 overall in 2000. Well, if you ask me that disproves your whole retarded arguement right there. OH, and i almost forgot, heres the link to the reviewed scholoarly journal article I got it from:

http://dll.umaine.edu/ble/U.S.%20HCweb.pdf

but the heritage of the confederacy is basically an illusion of a genteel southern society in which whites controlled everything and blacks kept to their place, i.e. in the field, and away from the white women, the school house, and the voting booth. the souths heritage is based on the enslavement of an entire race for economic gain and preservation of the white plantations, and i cant understand why anyone would be proud of that.

adressing the comments concerning immigration, it is sad we have reached a point where we have completely forgotten that our own ancestors came to this country from other lands to be free and to be prosperous. todays immigrants are possibly fleeing even more poverty, hunger and injustice. its sad that we think of these people as perverters of our society and criminals, when really they make up a large percentage of our labor pool.

though there are criminals within the ranks of immigrants, there are many more criminals who are naturalized american citizens. i dont understand why we can no longer view them as human beings who are fleeing suffering that you, a white american, cannot possibly understand.

these people are here to feed there families, not to kill us all. they are human beings just like you and me.

so shut the fuck up

I read the whole thing, and you make a semi-legitimate if not dramatized point

Your icon and reference to Barack Obama using his middle name (hussein) for effect lead me to believe you are just a nother nationalism-crazed southerner not worth listening to

and you sound like you probably voted for Bush last time

They say that because not everyone in the United States has health care. In terms of quality of individual care provided to those with insurance, I'll bet America is top 3.

To these ass holes. You see they have never been part of a low income household, one who couldnt afford the outrageous health care costs, because of this they dont give a fuck about those people.

one of the dumbest things I have ever read. bonus points for bad grammar.

aspendukes--I'm guessing you jumped on the ron paul bandwagon. I bet 4-8 years ago you didn't know very much about traditional conservatism, and probably supported bush. but at least we both agree neocons are bad news

jumister--I could easily scrape together an intelligent response to all of his points. but that would be a waste of time. even this is a waste of time, but unfortunately I still have five more minutes to kill

atlantaski--everyone is so damn opinionated these days. I have about as much reason to trust your opinion as you do me. i.e. none, we are both naive white kids with no government or real life experience. but one of us isn't a racist with a completely distorted sense of reality. give up? (hint: I have no problem with black people)

ok so i missed an S sorry buddy..

my post should have said..

yes, yes, YES!

want to know what politicians* i want removed from office more than the Dems? Liberal Republicans.

those people stabbed their party in the back..

now could you please tell me why this is so dumb?

i was telling Aspen my opinion...

ive already told you that. its not that i think its okay, its not good, but it is not the governments job to provide health care

Not to mention the sub-prime mortgage crisis

Seems America is so interested in Iraq that they have forgotten about there own backyard...

WOW I want my money back, I feel semi-dirty for actually reading all of this. Im glad I wasted money going to Miami, I could of just been educated by Mr. Davis for much less money.

Seems to me that even though you continue to say that we 'think we are entitled' and the likes, it is those that can't afford healthcare that think they are entitled to it. The government was not created to be a grand master, a babysitter, or a giver of gifts. I see it as a way in which freedoms are preserved, or this case inhibited, and a means through which we can exercise our freedoms. I firmly believe that you are in charge of your own destiny, so to answer your question, no, I do not think the government owes it to its citizens to provide them with health care..
