Wake up NS

wow ur gay and ur stupid little opinions,

before you just make a big rant about the negatives of obama why don't you put the negatives of electing another republican with the name of John Mcain duche bag

"its not that liberals are wrong. its just that they know so much it isn't so"..... you guys shouldnt believe everything your teachers tell you in highschool its all subliminal liberal propaganda. and some not so subliminal. micheal savage, lars larson and rush limbaugh can point you in the right direction.

dude, all those people are incredibly right wing. You can't have an extremist in power, it either goes to facism or communism then. No point in that. What we need is a balance, but right now we do NEED a more liberal president. The people of the USA need to be appeased, and another neo-con president will not make things easier. A plan to get out of iraq, a balance between privatization/socialization of healthcare, and a defined ruling on abortion/homosexuality that appeal to the most people are what american needs. Only after we get things back in balance in our own country can we start to reform.

Once the conflict in Iraq manageable, we can get out. Then we work on fixing up America.

Extremism is not the right way.

I somewhat agree. I mean, architects dont get paid shit, and we prob have about 8 years of standard college studies and work to do in about 4-5 years. then theres masters and everything else. You have to really love what you do to study arch. Anyways. A fair amount will still leave and wont care in a public health care system. Money does make a difference, no matter how much doctors want to help people. Its not even just about doctors anyways. It's a lot about medical adavances.

I agree with jefferson davis...

Seriously, think about sitting in history class 50 years from now... Your kid, grandkid, whatever, is studying presidents names in history... George Washington, James Madison, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, ronald Reagan, then Barrack Hussein Obama... Seriously? I think thats kinda of funny

He really is just a black jimmy carter, who I was ashamed for many years to live off of a road named after him.

you realize that obama is the most extreme towards the left in the senate? and to say that right wing extremists would lead to facism? facism is more similar to the ideals proposed by obama than you think, and way more so than any right wing politician or talkshow host.
the majority of the united states in positions to make informed decisions about the best direction for the country are conservative. i would even say that the majority of people oppose government models proposed by liberals because of their regulartory, and large government, and are more conservvative thinkers
he couldn't be more right about the countless leftist and left wing propaganders (word?) that masquerade as teachers in our highschools.

dropped into my lap? from my father who deserves every penny he makes.
your making this out to seem like im killing people off, a mass murderer because i wont pay for other peoples health insurance. YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED HEALTH CARE BYT THE GOVERNMENT. thats not its job. that simply concentrates power and limits our freedoms. no sob story is going to change my mind. you and all the people sitting on their asses demanding healthcare are the ones who feel 'entitled'. you are not entitled to governemnt healthcare, nor is anyone

He's extreme in many of the traditional issues (gay marriage, abortion, etc.) but in some of the newer ones such as immigration and healthcare he's a little more conservative.

I'm normally not a liberal. I'm exactly smack dab in the middle of the political spectrum, sometimes swinging a tiny bit right. But we do need a liberal president to counteract some of the more conservative (and unpopular) decisions that Bush's administration has carried out.

As I said before, a balance is needed, not another neo-con president.

i agree with you for the most part.

im in high school, and i will not be able to vote this year, but that doesnt mean i dont have the right to an open opinion. i personally dont want to get in a political argument w/ the thread creator but even though i believe McCain wouldnt be as bad as Bush was, i really do not think he will be nearly as good as Obama. i don't want there to be however many more years of war, and although it's unlikely, i really do not want to have the potential of being drafted if they do ever end up reinstating it.

Yeah kinda i think we should tighten the boarder security then allow any illegals that can show that they have been here and working to pay a fine learn english and become a citizen.

but no not anyone who can pay should earn citizenship anyone whos not a citizen that wants to be should have to go though all the proper channels to become a citizen.

ok, i scanned the responses and only have a couple of short things to say.

first off, i do agree for the most part with jeffersondavis. To everyone that was making claims about him attacking Obama racially, the only thing i could find where he even mentions Obama's race is when he says "voting for a black guy with an exotic and unconventional name such as

Barack Obama who promises "Change" might seem appealing and cool.
" which does not truly attack Obama, but just says not to vote for him because he is black. I believe that all of us can agree that him being black in and of itself is not a good reason to vote for him.

secondly, Costa Rica has universal health care, yet i have read (i'll try to find the source for you all when i have more time) that they have some of the best health care in the world. However, i believe that in order to achieve this they have some sort of privatized health care that works with the universal health care system. Unfortunately i'm not completely clear on the details regarding Costa Rica's health care system but this is my basic understanding of it.

maybe ... but what is healthcare if it is a luxury only for few... There are plenty of people in the US making minimum wage which will hardly even pay for their food.

Even without insurance you still get treatment at public hospitals whether you can pay or not and they don't kick you to the back of the line. I say this because have spent a good deal of time in the E.R. waiting for stiches or X-rays while people who most definatly couldn't afford it were in there to have a cough checked or get a sprain wraped up.

Atlantaski, if you want to carry some merit in your arguments, frame them as arguments, not attacks. You attack some group or person in almost every post. This is the quickest way to lose credibility in any debate. You just make yourself sound ignorant. Also generalizing a 'problem' to a specific race, culture, or religion is another quick way to lose points.

As for Health Care:

Universal Health Care has its pros and cons just like each and every thing in the world we live in. Nothing is the holy grail of anything.

Pros of universal health care:

It provides basic medical care to everyone. For the most part if you get sick you will be taken care of. Or if you get hurt you will be able to get fixed up with out paying tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical fees.

It improves national health. People have the opportunity to go in and see a doctor. If they get a mild disease they go get help. In a privatized health care system people are less likely to go in and see a doctor if they get something that they think is not a big deal. They don't want to pay for the cost of the visit and diagnosis. However mild diseases such as the flu can quickly turn deadly. What they thought was just a bad cough was actualy TB, and now they are going around and giving it to their friends and family.

Cons of Universal health care:

The big one is that it limits avalibility of high end health care. Expensive Treatments no longer become an option. Say your closest family member contracts a severe disease or condition such as a form of cancer. There is a treatment that can save your son/daughter/brother/mom/dad, however the cost is in the millions and there is a 20% chance that it will fully cure them, a 30% chance is will sum what help them and give them a few more years. a 40% chance that it will do nothing whatsoever, and a 10% chance it will just kill them outright. In a universal health care system, this treatment will not be avalible. Not only is the State not willing to pay for it. but there are no private doctors that are able to perform it since they are all on the state payroll. This is a true and common situation. That is why people come from Canada and Europe to the US every year, to get the health care that they can not get under their universal coverage system.

Now on to taxes:

they make the world go 'round

you want no taxes? Move to Somalia, tell me how that goes.

Sure the Camen Islands sound nice with low taxes. But you put all the rich people in the world their and they will be dead within 5 years as the country is invaded by another country with a military that was paid for with tax money. Not to mention how bad the riots would be with no tax paid police force, Or who would come when you get hurt? the Ambulance? nope that runs on Tax money too. Maybe some one would come. but then they would just kill you in your weakened state and take all your money.

and you think the U.S. has the lowest fatality rate of cancer how?

Please tell me because if they aren't getting treatment how are so many people survivng.

Now I live in a neigborhood with a bunch of doctors and my friends have parents who are doctor and they all donate time for treatment.

If you have chronic illness the chance is the universal health care wont figure it out or wont treat it.

We have floride in our water and a tooth brush is not that much money and it cost 30 bucks to get teeth cleaned once a year.

I need to have bone graph in my jaw, have a metal post drilled in and a prostetic tooth put in and the dentist worked with me for the price I can afford.

So you can get stuff if you ask. no ones leaving anyone out but of course some people fall through but that can never stop completly

hey maybe if taxes didnt exist people could afford healthcare with all of the money they werent forced to give to the government...

hey, maybe if taxes didn't exist neither would roads or police or the army or anything else that the government does for your protection.

i thought "immigrant descent" was funny.

and yeah, i know i spelled it wrong. so did the person i was quoting. hence the misspelled quotation.

Teh"I know for most of you HS aged pricks, voting for a black guy with an

exotic and unconventional name such as Barack Obama who promises

"Change" might seem appealing and cool. What you don't realize is that

he will put into play similar referendums which are leading to the

downfall of European Culture.

Since the great liberalization of the continent on the other side of

the Atlantic, Immigrants from Turkey, the Middle East, and Africa have

flooded into France, England, Germany, Belgium etc to live large off

attractive government welfare subsidies(Hussein Obama is a fan) at the

expense of tax paying French, German etc citizens. These immigrants not

only dilute and tear the great two thousand year old institution of

Western Culture, they destabilize entire countries native blue collar

working class, leading to massive unemployment and civil unrest (French

riots of last summer). Couple that with socialized healthcare, (which

may sound sick to all you fucking lazy ass ski bums without health

insurance for when you tear an ACL) where doctor's are underpaid, suffer

from low morale, and are without the latest and greatest medical

advancements(which are developed in the US due to our privatized

healthcare industry) and it becomes apparent that the United States is

headed on a crash course with full fledged contemporary Western

European Socialism.

If Hussein Obama gets elected, brace yourselves for massive riots,

spiraling unemployment, incompetent doctors, massive foreign debt, and

a mass exodus of the rich (WHO PAY MOST OF THIS FUCKING COUNTRIES'

TAXES) to Cayman islands or elsewhere abroad who don't feel like living

under a Black Jimmy Carter." - Jefforson-Davis

Sir, your remarks strike me as biased in a number of ways. Not only that, but many of your contentions are flat out incorrect.

Please explain to me what on earth European culture is supposed to mean on a different continent. America has a vast conglomeration of culture, and some of it's own. A prime example is fast food. We are doing our own thing for the most part culturewise, and suggesting one president will remove our culture or create its "downfall" is lunacy.

The biggest problem with your entire argument is you have absolutely no link between the catastrophes you suggest will occur and the candidate. Are you seriously suggesting that simply because the president is black, a large shift will occur? Our culture will topple? There in no evidence to prove any sort of link between the occurences in other countries and that of our own.

Immigration is an issue in any country. However, it is important for us to remember that every single fucking one of us is an immigrant, and that if you truly do hold that America is a great country because of what it has to offer, then you cannot deny that it should be alluring for someone living in poverty would like to take advantage of the opportunities that are afforded. Our major immigration issues stem from Mexico, and if you would like to know why, I suggest you take a hard look at the effects of free trade and NAFTA on local economies in Mexico.

Many immigrants currently hold jobs that most people will not do, or

are not interested in. They pick the food you eat, serve it to you at

McDonalds, and most likely built the house you live in. They also

suffered in their home country to cheaply make the ski clothes you

wear, so you could get them at a reasonable price. Give the immigrants

a break.

While the United States is certainly not at the same level of socialism as many countries, we do have many programs left over a vastly socialist period, the FDR era. The ethnicity of the candidate has NOTHING to do with whether or not he would implement more of them. The issue is at the forefront presently, any serious candidate should address it. How dare you categorize any person based on the color of his skin, or suggest what his or her opinions should be because of it.

The United States already has a massive foreign debt. Do some research, use this to start:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt

Notice the fact that the richest tax brackets are actually going down due to tax cuts. If the taxes are raised, people with more money can simply put the additional money they would have been required to pay into various shelters and other avenues to avoid paying.

How will unemployment change? You make no link to this, and if you think that simply because the rich people leave everything will fail, you are deluding yourself. Additionally, why would they leave? They have the most say in government due to their contributive influence.

Do you even see the irony of the "European culture" you are defending and the fact that you are complaining about "contemporary Western

European Socialism"?

Sir, your arguments are motivated by nothing more than racist hate. I cannot in good conscious ignore this egregious, malicious, and simply angering post that only displays your ignorance of the issues you speak of.

I have a good feeling you'll be banned soon, and deserve it.

Thanks for reading. Have a nice day.

go mccain! if only i could vote, also obama surrounds himself with sketchy people his entire life, look at his church! he went there for 20 years and listened to that pastor. also his lack of experience is a huge eye opener, every other president has had at least double his experience. if he was president he would be a puppet president. do the right thing and vote mccain.

Its not the tax payers fault someone bought more house than they could afford.

There is way more to this than just this but i really dont want to elaborate right now its too late.

guess what, the roads we drive on do not need to be built by the government. if the government was none existant (sp) then jobs provided by private companies would form, thus creating possible higher paying jobs, and if you did not want to pay for a road you wouldnt have to.

from a first hand point of view i can safely say that england has become over run with imagrants from easten europe and aisa. Taking jobs from the working class and expecting laws to be changed to suit thier needs, i dont know whats happening in america to be honest, but dont let it become what our country has. We're losing so much because the government are giving away so many benefits for non-u.k citizens.

Just an example, but women from poland for example can come into our country, get a part time job, then claim child support for her two children who still live back in poland.

i cant stand the government here anymore, we're being forced from our own country and told what to do by people who arn't even from the u/k.

ehh

If we put in this universal health care its a step towards socialism..Your right its expensive as hell and it is considered a luxury in my book...If everyone starts to depend on the govt to give them everything then there is no incentive for them to go out and make a living for themselves...Whether they work or not they still get health care, an income, food, shelter, not saying that people shouldnt get these things, but stop depending on the govt for everything...

well in Wisco in Mil town there are many mothers who are able to work but dont and collect welfare for their families....Depending on how many children they have effects the amount of money monthly

they collect...so all they do is sit around and make more babies so they can collect more money monthly, so its not uncommon to find single mothers with 8 kids who dont work....Im not against the idea of welfare but it was designed to help people until they can get a job and make a stable income for their families...but what im trying to get at with the "no incentive to work" is that welfare gives away SOOO much money that the monthly income for a single working mother is almost equal to the amount of money the govt gives to them on welfare, so many of them say well i make almost as much not working as i do actually with a job, so hell why would you want to work then....thats what im trying to say with no incentive to work

I want change.. I'm tired of the way politics has been run, and would love to have a black president.

But my real concern here is this; the man's been in politics for years.. hasn't even attempted to 'bridge' the gap between anyone.. and hasn't made an ounce of 'change' for the greater part of his life. (check his resume). If he can't bring change with the power he's had, how does he plan on doing it now?

When you're President you have everyone trying to tear you apart, lobbyists with invested interest & power, and a staff to keep you in check... Things don't just get easier for you.

And I see this as the 'smoking gun' that Mccain is going to try to nail Obama on. Above all the war is one of the biggest issues among voters right now, and Mccain is gonna play his 'war vet'... card.. and going to call Obama out on his 'changes' he's made.. and credibility (associations with Rev. Wright, wife's anti-white speech in college, Ayers, you name it)

I'm tired of hearing those topics too.. but I guarantee we won't be hearing the last of it. And I'm sure we'll find out about some Mccain 'scandals' to keep things interesting.

but Obama is a hell of a better talker than Mccain so that's going to work in his favor.

yea im not against the concept of welfare just im against when people abuse it....and the reason im using socialism in my argument because we are going down that path if we arent careful...
