and all that shit about "oh, obama is gonna spend 668 billion more, bush never raised our debt", seriously? do you understand how much extra money we are spending on military bullshit? dont get me wrong, i realize that a portion of that spending is completely necessary to ensure the safety of our country and to ensure that we will always be the most sophisticated military power should we ever need to defend ourselves. but there is definitely a whole lot of waste spending that could be put to much better use in our own country, where the citizens and taxpayers have our own problems that need attention.

if bush didn't raise taxes and we spent so much more on military ventures, where do you think all that extra money came from? we need to fix the problems in our own country before trying to fix other peoples problems
 
Youre dead wrong. agriculture is subsidized in the united states so that farmers make equal to (no more than, no less than) and economic market equilibrium price seeing as how there is a monopoly on agriculture. Coupled with the recent news of farmers making more money than reasonably allowed with anti-trust laws, there is definitely enough money to go from 3 bucks an hour to 7 bucks an hour. Lets not forget that there is a great potential to subsidize more.

I think blue collar workers would rather have slightly more expensive goods than no job to buy goods at all.

Do you understand how much extra money we are spending on military bullshit? We are spending about 7 billion dollars extra every year (on top of our normal 20.2% defense budget). Do you know how insignificant 7 billion dollars is when our federal budget consists of 2.8 trillion? Do you know many billions go into a trillion? 1000 billions go into 1 trillion. 1,000,000,000 x 1,000= 1 fucking trillion. do you know what 2.8 trillion looks like? Here: 2,800,000,000,000. We spend 600 billion (600,000,000,000) dollars a year just paying for social security. We only spend 580 billion with all things factored in on defense.

And while your quotes also do have some merit, they are mostly alarmist ramblings from Pat Buchanan, thus giving yourself not much to stand on as he's widely known as a right-wing nut-job.

Most of the illegal immigration into your country comes from Mexico, where, on average (76% in fact), the population is more relgious (roman catholic) than Americans are. The islamification of Europe is a huge problem, and it is starting to be a bit of a problem in Canada, but trust me, you guys are a fair ways off, and have much bigger problems to deal with (like that huge deficit and massive foreign debt that already exists). You want to worry about becoming a minority? Stop being consumer whores and instead of 3 cars and big screen tvs, have another kid. Low birth rates are to blame in Europe (they are pitiful) and are getting worse in North America, that is the main problem.

By the way, I am a right-wing nut-job myself and would be voting for McCain if afforded the opportunity (I'm Canadian). But if you want people to listen to you, you might want to be intelligent about it.
 
i am a senior this year and will be voting this fall.

but i totally agree that socialized medicine will fuck us over. i really really hope it doesnt come down to that. i love our system now, i get awsome care, its fast, and its paid for (except for a few small fee's).

Thank you. To anyone who thinks Bush is spending a lot: You have no idea the amount it would cost to increase our social security plan and to standardize health care. The military spending is lunch-money compared to what it would cost.

I am in disbelief that kids are responding the way they are. I take criticism about Bush on a daily basis and you all go off your fucking rockers when someone writes a well written couple paragraphs explaining what may/will happen as Obama is elected.

actually the notion of a draft is an inherently liberal idea. Normally wars are fought by the poor and disadvantaged who join the military to get out of their current predicament and the prospects of a better future. The draft is a liberal idea because it eliminates class and plays no favorites to what socio-economic background you come from.

the one thing i have for McCain and against Obama is war. Its a huuuuuuge topic, if not the biggest (now that clinton is out, i would say healthcare isnt as high anymore). McCain is very clear about what he will do with the war.

Obama however states that he will take troops out, 1 or 2 divisions at a time, and be gone in 16 months. this will somehow help the iraqi govt because it will give them responsibility and make them actually try to establish laws. Iraq needs to make dramatic changes for its citizens in order to survive, including a constitution. how do they do this with no help defending themselves from terrorists?

if in the past iraq has been completely taken over and controlled, and now that the war has started, Al-Qaeda has moved into Iraq, how will leaving help? Obama wants to work more on diplomacy and talking to nations about peace instead of acting. He says we dont talk to our allies enough and need to get them involved. they left, they dont want to be involved dude.

he also plans on gettin involved in many other countries conflicts with eachother such as the turkish and kurdish, getting saudi arabia to stop letting terrorists into iraq. why fuck with the country who many believe is the most powerful in the world right now. with the price of oil skyrocketing for the entire world and most of it being in one place, why would u try to fuck with them? he's talked about how Osama has setup new bases in Pakistan, and how we should stop that. iran is a problem because they have terrorists and nukes, so lets get involved with them too.

Why leave a war that we've spent so much money on, to go and get involved in others? im honestly not so prowar, but when a candidate wants to give benefits, more support, and train troops properly and get this overwith and leave iraq with atleast some hope of becoming an established, governed country, and the other candidate wants to leave them to figure it out on their own wen they clearly cant do that and wants to get involved with all these other world problems, sit back and try to talk to people, i have to go with McCain. sitting back and talking hasn't worked in the past, and with the technology today, i wouldnt want to see the aftermath of just sitting around trying to talk to people

preventive care, like Pap smears and mammograms to detect early-stage

cancers, and blood tests and cholesterol checks for hypertensive

patients. But we scored poorly in coordinating the care of chronically

ill patients, in protecting the safety of patients, and in meeting

their needs and preferences, which drove our overall quality rating

down to last place. American doctors and hospitals kill patients

through surgical and medical mistakes more often than their

counterparts in other industrialized nations.
