Well, today the US handed over power to the new Iraqi governent two days ahead of schedual in order to thwart insurgents. The entire thing went off without a hitch, prepare to not hear about it.

This morning I woke up to hear on the radio that we had successfully handed over power in Iraq, and I then put on the always faithful Fox News for more info. They had plenty of information, several corispondance, and other call in experts. So, in intrest of getting a fair and balenced view of things I swithced to MSNBC and not a word. They had something about Enron on and nothing about handing over power. Then to CNN, the information did little more then grace the ticker.

When Bush does have a victory, I find it intresting that only one news station covers it in the least. While Fox is right all other media is way left, so I don't see why everyone gives shit to fox for being conservative, they need to balence out the other channels.

Regardless, I find it a shame that only one channel covered this event, and it is definite proof that the media is helplessly liberal and anti-bush.

Just because we gave them power a few hours ago doesn't mean it is automatically a success. The new governmentneeds to be embraced by the people in order for it to be a success. Just because Bush says it was a success, doesn't mean it really was. Look at the Mission Accomplished fiasco.

Yeah, it means alot, the day to day operation of the country is not in our hands anymore, our military is their but we no longer control the government or the nation. Also, no one has said that Iraq is a success, Bush hasn't said a word, but the handing over of power has gone of without attacks that they were expecting.

If they have comlete control, why is the US army still there in its entirety, why is there plans for more troops to go over?

All it means is they have given a bit of power to some Iraqui that's in Gerorge Bush's pocket.

They can still pull all the strings they want to, don't forget that when the war is over they will still need to get their business men in to enusre all that oil doesn't go to waste.

The troops are there because the Iraqi government has no paramilitary group or anything to stop chaos from breaking out. The reason, and a bad idea, that more troops are going over is so that they can train the Iraqi paramilitary force. It is funny how pesimistic yall are, I mean the last time we did this it was a success, Afganistan, and now you are so entrenched in your ignorant anti-Bush beliefs that you can't trust anything that the US does. I am thankful that most of you are Canadian and 12 so I don't have to worry about yall in the election. Still, there are so many ignorant anti-Bush kids who do it just to be cool and because they are anti-war.

It seems so easy for all of you to dismiss the fact that none of you know exactly what is going on over there. You say, oh puppet government this, not enough bloodshed that. The fact is what happened today is just the beginning of a long road to a new Iraq. One that is free of dictatorship, and open to the rest of the world. The reason the U.S. military, along with ones of many other countries are still in Iraq and will be for a while is simple. Keep things stablized, keeping the insurgency in check as well as the local milita's. These forces will be there until an Iraqi force is brought up that is capable of handling this task without failure. Stop trying to politicise military and stablization operations. You're all going to do that, but be sure that whatever happens with this next election Iraq will still be there. If Iraq succeeds in building an open democratic society I can guarantee all of you that it would impact the entire middle east like nothing ever before. It's a victory for the people of Iraq.

Wait, what is your beloved Kerry's plan for Iraq, or your godsend Moore, what do you suppose that the US do. Have you even studied any history, the Marshall plan mabye, no. Rebuilding nations takes time, and this is the start like he said, taking Bush out will not help the situation in Iraq because Kerry has no clue what he is doing. If Bush pulls out now, for no reason, all of the Middle East will go to shit. But the damage is done, now saying suff like 'Bush needs to get out of there' will not help the situation. I have only watched Bill O'Rilye once and I found him to be an asshole. And how do I know Afganistan is a success? My brother is over there right now and he is not getting blown up by car bombs, fighting insurgents in the streets, dying. A success, yes, there is a popular government in place and everything is in order, the people are happy. Yeah, I would call that a success.

My hatred for Bush goes deep. He cares nothing for the people, though he may say he does, his actions don't show it. He makes alliances with big businesses only to make money and even had an alliance with the saudis. Because of the alliance with that saudis, 24 hours after 9/11, Bush allowed a bunch of saudi princes and other muslims fly first class out of the country. They suspect the other muslims could have been highjackers. Anyway, Iraq = worst idea in history, so handing back over to Iraqi control was something long coming anyway which any president could have done.
