Vanular with faction skis

he has solid evidence... he skis them and his pairs have help up sufficient.

Nowhere did he say anything about 9 being different than anyone else. He said they were well put together. Are there other well put together skis? Yes. Are 9's well put together? yes.

Stop trying to be a smart ass and put words in his mouth that he didn't say. Why don't you just look up their construction on the website or one of many retailers if you are so curious?

why because ive pointed out that i dont like a companies image and have pointed it out?

im not going say their skis suck, i wouldnt know ive never ridden them (ill leave that up to you to do that)

but it is a fact that they have had some less than wonderful business practices in the past. you may be able to look past that, i cant.

i work for the department of redundancy department haha

ignore the first "ive pointed out" hahah

pretty funny shit seeing everyone here saying they dont know the "true" story or people claiming shit like they no whats up and c van wasnt treated well, or he dropped for money etc...
all you guys need to shut up because the only people who know what went on is vanular himself and campbell at 9.

all I have to say is, if your riding for 9, your not riding for a company to get $$, or a retarded amount of skis.
As far as shit in the past, im not sure why 9 did the things they did, but when money is tight and your either going to pay out a athlete or take some serious damage to your company functioning correctly, theres a good chance your going to protect your investment.
working as a contractor this summer I learnt that the hard way, and I too lost money from people who had to either choose paying me or losing their company. As much as I am pissed, what would I do if I was in the same situation. Shit Happens.

As far as people beaking 9 for terrible customer service or making shitty skis, I cant say I have had either.
Picking up a couple skis from them in the past 2 years, I have had excellent service through Shane at 9 and the skis have lasted. Plus, they dont look hag as fuck, I can look at a ski and a company that does there own thing and isnt sucked into the mess of a haggard ski industry we have.

Not to be a hater, but I wouldnt be surprised if cvan lasts with faction for a year until something bigger comes up for him.
I just hope to hell he doesnt ride on those piece of shit vist bindings they have

Woah guy, calm down. I just asked a question which was answered a few posts up from this. I asked a simple question based on what someone said. I didn't put words in anyone's mouth. I was hoping that there was more evidence than the fact that he had owned 2 pairs of their skis. Thanks ja. for answering.

How can you say someone is "selling out" if they're making money to ski, or getting paid to change sponsors? If you could make a living doing what you love, wouldn't you do whatever it takes to make it happen? I'd like to think so. When you're at a pro level, you can have a pretty good skiing experience on just about any brand of ski, as long as they're not total crap. Not many companies make totally shitty skis these days.

I don't know the money side of it, but you can't call someone a sell out for going with a sponsor that pays them more. Who the fuck wants to make 10k a year, just struggling to make ends meet, when they can make 30k from a different brand and focus infinitely more on their skiing and not on how they're going to eat.

it's a fucking business. it's not middle school baseball. The people that get paid to ski do it for the love. The more money you make, from what I've seen, correlates with your love and passion for it. The people that get paid the most in skiing love it so much.... that's why they get paid.

and I respect when brand have a tight knit team, or family vibe, but high fives and good vibes aren't going to pay for a trip to NZ, or give you photo incentives for getting shots in a magazine.

Again, I don't know anything about what happened between 9thward and Vanular, but i'm willing to be money was involved... in which case, go for the money. I guarantee he'll have just as much fun skiing on FAction skis as he did on 9thward... and it doesn't concern any one of us.

I'm sick and tired of carrying all the weight, the coaches and owners not giving me the shit I need to win. Atlanta, you're fucking out. Kenny Powers is now a free agent. Let's buy the bar and get shitfaced. Get me paid, bitch!

EXACTLY!

I don't know why I wasted all my time typing that shit out. You nailed it.

Surrender is death, and death is for pussies... and my ass ain't no pussy.

I usually don't post in here anymore because of little dooshbags like yourself who fucking thrive on busting a nut to forums...but first and foremost fuck you..it's sad you base your opinions on a company because of what an i.p address says to you in a gay ass forum that really doesn't apply to you at all...on another note tosh is one of the nicest most conscious kids I know who probably goes to certain heights in one day that you unfortunately will never meet in your lifetime..because your too concerned about image and what people think..it's not about that sunny so get learned on life and realize that newschoolers is a fucking joke...it's sad that I specifically remember arguing with you over a year ago because of some stupid bullshit you posted about...but hey were glad you don't wanna ever buy 9...please go support faggit companies like sally and line who don't give a shit about you

Lol. I'm totally wasting my time here, I know...

Image? Wtf are you talking about... stop being such a fucking... 14 year old douchebubble freetard NEWSCHOOLER.

You've never been on the skis. That's the end of the story is right there. You can't say anything about a company unless you've been on the skis. I've been on the skis. 5 years ago they were not the best, but I haven't been on them since, and I hear they are much better now. Plus, the factory they build them at now is a LOT better, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they're probably decent quality sticks.

And as for business practices? Are you that picky about shit? Do you mean to tell me you're a watchdog for business practices, and you have no tolerance for any episode of poor ethics no matter how petty?

I mean... do you buy anything from walmart or mcdonalds or have an account at bank of America, or Citibank? There are thousands of companies out there who commit FAR more heinous shit than anything 9th did... Wake up and realize where you live, you ignorant fool.

Bingo.

Everyone seems to think that the ski industry is full of Enron CEO's just trying to fuck them. Get real.

if you guys want to hate ninthward hate them but dont talk shit on a product you havent tried. if you havent tried ninthward skis since they started a new design and moved factories you seriously need to shut the fuck up. the comte and HHP are probably 2 of the most badass park skis on the market and if you rode them you would love them.

the old skis sucked dick even the guys at ninthward will tell you this. new skis are great, i rode mine all year last year and didnt have on problem with them at all. this is shitty east coast riding, mostly hitting rails all day, not one broken ski oh and i ski almost every single day. talk shit all you want but if you havent tried them you should shut the fuck up.

That's what you assume is the truth, Mrs. President (Alias)

Dont make a definite consensus based upon assumptions. Too many of you little kids do that and take the internet WAY too fucking seriously.

considering your previous post and the fact that you too know nothing about what happened, thats a little hypocritical now isnt it?

well all i can say is that no ski from faction or 9 that corey ever skis on is going to come close to being as good of a park ski that he used to ski on. dynastars trouble maker is by far the best pipe ski ever made and probly the best park ski too. ask dave crighton what he skied on in his glory years. ask what vanular skied on in LSS. Ask what mike Rddle murdered people with in the pipe last year--the sixth sense superpipe-which is the exact same ski as the old troublemaker. Why would dynastar keep the trouble maker? Because it is the best park/pipe ski ever made. I dont have anything against 9 but nothing from an elan factory is gonna come close to the bomb that came out of the dynastar factory 6 years ago

Haha. I've tried to figure out what you're telling me here for the last 10 minutes. What the fuck are you talking about?

Whatever. waste of time..

I can't believe I just read that all. I think Rich Fahey said it the best. Who cares? I mean he's probably making more money now, which most skiers need since they are not wealthy by any means, excluding the Dumonts and Wallisches. Honestly, it's a little weird how much some kids care.

Started skiing with poles again because of low comp scores then switched from amplid"i have a lot of input with a smaller company" or something like that then switches to pretty much scott everything

Candide switched ski sponsors several times after getting a pro model. The poster was trying to juxtapose Cory Vanular with Candide Thovex.

And Sean, accusing people of taking the internet to seriously, really?

Nobody on this site knows what really happened between Corey and 9 besides the fact that they are no longer together. Nobody on this site should be making stupid assumptions about Corey, 9, Faction or anything else in the ski industry that they know nothing about. Let it be for fucks sake, does a person changing sponsors really affect anyone's lives besides that person and said sponsor? C'mon now.

after riding on mik d for most of the season i can say honest and unbias, cuz honestly i dont give a fuck. that i didn't like them the shape and they have the smallest tail on any twin i have even seen riding in heavy wet snow was always a bitch. but i will say that i rode them hard for about 30 days

and only 2 edge cracks that were barley visible. and some minor top sheet chipping. so good durability shitty design IMO.

Whatever FROYO. Vanular leaving Ninthward IS interesting. Would you have read through this entire thread if you weren't interested? I doubt it. We all love juicy ski industry gossip about our favorite skiers. There's no need to pretend you're any different.

Also, you don't seem to get the dynamics of a thread like this. OF COURSE no one here knows what happened. That's why this thread exists. The hope is that if enough people post their "stupid assumptions," eventually an interested party (Cory or 9th) will come on here and straighten things out. That's how we do business around here. We've already brought the 9th sympathizer "Wat" out of the woodwork (gotta be Campbell or a close crony--there aren't many people who would go to bat for 9th like that). Give it a few more pages and who knows what could develop . . .

I have a story about ninthward:

It all started when I was having severe problems with 4frnt (edges ripped out the entire length of the ski after a year, 4frnt denied warranty, I bitched on newschoolers with pictures, Joe from 4frnt called and explain that some skis just fall apart and it was just my luck of the draw).

Anyways, I get a PM from Campbell telling me that my situation was bullshit and he wanted to hook me up with a pair of ninthwards. I said it sounded like a sick deal, but in the end I couldn't afford it.

The next year I got on the street team and picked up two pairs (first bloods and rorys). There were a few delays on shipping and when I talked to Campbell about it he said he would figure it out. Within a day Shane called me to explain that the skis were on a boat, and he would ship them priority to me. He proceeded to call me when the skis got in (at like 11 at night, which is past my bedtime). Anyways, I finally got the skis.

How they rode (Firstblood): A little stiff at first, which I prefer being an X racer (X), I was having fun shredding them before I wanted to destroy the ski on rails and whatnot. They rode amazingly well, and I was able to grip GS turns and push them through crud. I was satisfied. I could give a more extensive review if someone wanted.

I blew my knee out early january, couldnt ski for about a month, and wouldnt be able to ski hard (maybe ever again).

rode the Rorys quite a bit, and enjoyed them. They were a little softer and playful than my gotamas. Mounted dead center so crud wasn't great, but they were good for what I wanted.

Then it started to snow and my knee healed up a bit so I rode my hellbents for the rest of the year. end of story. ninthward skis have so far impressed me. They have held up well, though I have not punished them very much.

What I was really impressed with was their personal interest in the customer. Maybe it was just them trying to get back in the game? But I felt very appreciated as a customer from them, much more than from 4frnt. And I'm pretty sure they don't skimp on materials for the skis, at least that is what C and S confirmed when I expressed my concern (4frnts and ninths are made in the same factory).

I don't know if the next skis I will buy will be ninthwards, but I will definitely recommend them to other skiers.

i read your first sentence and well are you retarded... you know Mick D pretty much designed the trouble maker a long with a few other people and welllll he also helped design a lot of the new 9 skis soooo ya i mean put 2 and 2 together buddy.

cool man... way to represent. I don't care if i get hate, this doesn't seem like a good way to rep your company, but anywyas hope you guys are successful with them, and keep shredding hard.

You are right man. I'm sorry.... I feel like I explained myself in the other post but I was just mad because kids on ns made the absurd claim that I was no longer on 9 and then people started saying that I had never produced even though I know for a fact that "production", which I assume means movie parts, is directly related to sponsor money.

Try some of the skis they are really fun. Big-ups to everyone who holds the faith and doesn't believe the hype.
