Vail now owns Afton Alps

My friend knows the inside management at welch.

btw buck hill sale passes are up 25% from last year because of their new park partnership.

it will be more crowded for sure, but hyland is still more convenient and probably cheaper, so it'll still be full i think

DAAAAAAMMMMNNNNN!!!!!

Assuming their park is well maintained... probably. Afton is only 45 minutes from Minneapolis and 30 from saint paul.

A buddy of mine said that Afton opens the weekend of the 16th, does anyone know if that's true? I'm home from UMD that weekend and it would be sick to shred afton

damn i'm actually sooo stoked after their latest status. they're a bit behind the game but hopefully it'll be worth it!!!!!!

I heard they are behind because Mt. Brighton (which they also bought) was a shit hole, and they need to use all there resources for that so Afton got put on hold.

Siiiick. Comin home early for thanksgiving break on friday. Gonna have to check it out this weekend or next week

Just got off the phone with the office and they are opening tomorrow at 10 AM!!!!!!! Just got my pass in the mail yesterday see you out there kidos.

im pretty sure that is a false number...they had the gold pass offered last spring that was good for 2 years (this season and next season) 300 for a new pass...250 if you were renewing old pass....a bunch of people snatched that up hell of a deal. I have that and an afton pass. Everyone knows you go to welch for the bar and shot skis anyways.

I was there sunday. They had a tiny fucking park by the chalet and then they were taking wagonloads of people to the south chalet/by the new park area and they had bigger/more fun rails set up

stacking vertical omgomgomgomg. hah.

but the setup today @Nectar.

-weird 3 level flat box at top

-short flat bar rail

-longer straight (small in radius) rail

-down mailbox type still skinnish rail

-down flat box

-small rainbow

awful descriptions. but basic stuff nothing special

Looks like we may finally have some perfectly shaped jumps in the midwest!!!

just saw em up close. it's astounding how they fit 3 sets on that tiny run. I was there when they were finishing up the rest of the park. Really sick. Can't wait for next weekend.

Imma be honest. I'm terrified as fuck to hit those big jumps, especially the last one. Idk how it will go, but i'll do it.

but, anyway, afton is chill as fuck... they let us build a flip booter and use it for flips in right in the middle of the baby park...

oh, man... I'm not good at this... but:

first set isn't too big. right jump and left are about the same. 20 feet?

second set, maybe 25 and 30?

and then 35 and 40.

Again, take this with a grain of salt. The thing is, they aren't long gaps, but they're steep landings and pretty steep lips. It's just a lot of snow and it's really intimidating. Idk.

Tits, was hoping for a little bigger but i'll take it!

Gonna be there possibly wednesday, thursday, friday. Hoping they have the rope park and jumpline open by then

some park crew guy was saying they'd get progressively bigger.

but really, judge for yourself, I have no fucking clue. They're just big.

and they'll have it all open by then for sure. the park is done, they just need to start the rope.

Heading out there tomorrow and a couple more days this week likely,

anyone know what the ride with a friend discounts on our pass are like?

My lawdy, the hangtime on the last one looks like it is going to be ridiculous. Someone is dubbing it this year I'm calling it.
