Hey this is a message for kids that have been accepted/ applied to the University of Vermont....
Did you know that UVM has a Freestyle Ski Team??? We are a team of about 40 skiers that ride at Stowe and compete in slopestyle, halfpipe, and rail jam events. We have 2 vans that go to the mountain each day, we cover your competition entry fees AND you even get 1 GYM CREDIT!
So, you interested? Wanna learn more? We'd love to meet and ski with you when you visit campus. Email us at freeski@uvm.edu

I just got accepted last week, so I'd probably be down for this (assuming I get a lot better, considering there are comps involved).

I tried to come up with a response, but I'd rather not stoop down to your level of ignorance

my sister said that you have to try out to get on it? cuz i dont think i would make it onto the team.

im a junior now and i was lookin at uvm. a freestyle team is definitely a plus. anyone wanna tell me about uvm. good school?

wow whats all this hate on st mikes? i mean i go to UVM and it is wayyy better but there are still a lot of cool kids there and some sick skiers. But yeah theres applications and comps for the team but nothing is too serious, naw wha mean?

i would have to also disagree with that. maybe 1/2 of the kids i know have school paid for by their parents and very few actually have trust funds. kids at UVM are sick if you choose the right group to roll with. there are def crazy hippies and jocks alike but there are also some of the coolest most fun kids out there at UVM chea

dude hell fuckin yeah man get an edit of me and you together for this shit yo please and i am calling you right now

I got into UVM and will most likely go there. no hate to you all for doing the FST team but i'm definitely not doing it.. personally i'll have more fun riding with a crew and filming for season movie. plus I'm not even sure if I'll get a pass to stowe next year.

best deal for agonizing hour and a half+ trips to jay or riding at tiny ass bolton. obviously jay is sick but bolton gets kinda old, and you can definitely make it to stowe twice as much as jay because you can leave at 11 and get a half day still. i wasnt sure if i was right in getting a stowe pass at the beginning of the year but after 40+ days i'm pretty fucking pumped on it

If that's the case, my apologies.

I've heard too many kids saying "Fuck Stowe, I'm not paying $89!!"

They then proceed to brag about how they snuck on the lift without getting caught, and how they're so badass...

haha this is def one of adrian's friends. FST isn't structured that intensely. pretty much i got to use the vans on weekdays which was sick and super fun to go up with a crew of 5 people and be able to lounge. Also if you do comps, the fees get covered. and blatt our filer does do some occasional filming.
and in terms of mountains; if you wanna ride park get stowe or sugarbush. i have riden both for seasons and can confidently say they are the best in the area. stowe is 30 min closer though.
if you just wanna rip trees, get a triple major.

yay trees!! and let me tell you it is worth the long, hung-over drive to Jay on a powder day, there woods are unbeatable

wellll im gonna get the trip major AND a stowe pass cause im that hardcore hahah

my parents said they'd get them for me cause my pops works at UVM so they dont have to pay tuition!!

thats dope.

i might be transferring to uvm for the fall..., i go to clarkson and routinely make the 3+ hour drive to jay for my jay only pass, so i will definitely be getting the triple major if i go, hopefully ill have enough funds for a stowe or bush pass also.

it's been a while but no one has answered my question. Do you have to try out to get on, or is it just the $125 and welcome aboard?

i think they prolly just wanna know if you're good enough, like a good skier not neccesarily AMAZING...they wouldnt want a gaper showin up on the team ahaha

there is an informal application with questions about your interest and ability where video footage is encouraged. its nothing crazy or intimidating, but it helps to sort out the good and interested vs the weak and weekend warriors.

exactly!! i skied withh zach borg on saturday at stowe and it was a good time...def. lookin forward to next year!

personally I hate stowe's park and I always have. I don't really know why, maybe its the non-lappability, the hurricane winds, the shitty lips and zero- flow or maybe its just an unexplainable bad vibe i get. But you guys do kill it there, so keep it up. The only time I have enjoyed it was when I got to go up with Kurt for the last trick jam and direct shit around with the cat. Stowe's legit on pow days.. thats about it. just my opinion..

sugarbush has some real dope features, i didnt go until late this year and i regret not riding there all the time.
now that we'll have our house and dub HD filming setups, its gona be all about urban... definitely my favorite thing in skiing right now, just posting up on a nice quad kink or dfd with everything setup perfectly. customized skiing

yea i agree that Stowe puts the biggest fucking lips on their jumps. Even the North Slope jumps were scary as shit for me because I thought i was gonna eat shit onto my back.
