UVM '11

Hopefully someone I know is going...

I may be there in a year who knows, I'm still figuring out where I want to go. Right now, I 'm just chilling, enjoying life, and skiing. What's more to love.

I just transferred out of UVM actually; now I'm St Mikes class of 2010/2011 starting in the fall! woo! sorry, I'm a bit excited.

im just curious why you did that? like from what i have seen your not into the whole party scene and all that? what dont you like about uvm.

UVM was too big; the classes I was in made me feel like a client instead of a student. I don't like being just a number. It's different in other majors/departments I'm sure, but ya. I also joined a frat and didn't enjoy that, so I set myself up for a miserable time. I also wanted a private catholic school, so St Mikes works out, as it is private, small, catholic, and I'm as close to a legacy as it gets (my dad worked there/taught there/is still involved on campus, so everybody knows me).

Thanks dude. I hope so too. I took this whole year to think about it, instead of transferring half way through, so hopefully I'll be giving myself plenty of time to make a good decision.

uvm wasnt my top choice at first. but then i visited and loved burlington. i was still worried about the size because i think i typically like something smaller, but i got invited to the honors college which brings down the feelng of size a bit i think.

Many of the honors students lived in University Heights last year (the new dorms) and they're incredible. Almost hotel-like and the rooms are amazing. Congrats and hopefully you'll get U Heights.

does anyone who goes there know mike haring? freshman walk on to the hockey team. good man and big time partyer. if you do, tell him i say hello. he was once a good friend of mine

it's crazy how hard it is to get into uvm now compared to just five years ago. for out of state students it's been really hard. i got in but will probably not go..but so many legitimate kids from my school get rejected or deferred

I didn't apply, but UVM has been flooding me with e-mails for months. Each time a deadline passes without my response, I would recieve another e-mail telling me that a special deadline had been extended.

depends on what school you apply to. I have a B+ average, I applied to the school of nursing, and I got deferred. Deferring is undoubtedly the worst experience of all time. It's like having a trial to determine if you will get to live, or die, and the second that it is supposed to start, the judge delays it for three months. So fucking unfair.

so if you wind up going there check out the restaurant salsalita - best food ever, but not open on the weekends

oh and you will fall in love with toas, i go there about once a year and its bangin

yeha i want to go there in 2 years... how is it up there... life wise.. any good skate spots for when its not snowing out and hows party life and shit just gimme a lowdown haha

^ sick wuts the closest mountain cause i go to vermont al lthe time cause my dads from there and most of my fam lives up there and i go to rutland alot so im at killington or pico. is it near jay peak waat?

siiikc yeah stowe costs like a mliion bucks ill prob look into a season pass at smuggs or stowe hows bolton valley and which mtn has best park? and most pow?

My 6th grade teacher told me that from statistics 3/4 of his class will go to UVM, I live about 45 minutes from the campus. The only reason why I would ever stay in Vermont is Manhattan Pizza, and Ali Baba's Kabob Shop.

I got in today. So fucking pumped. Im probably gonna end up going. As long as I can figure out some way to pay for it. Its either there or gonzaga.

I'm taking the semester off in Burlington next fall, then I'll rejoin class of '10, but really '11 because I'll be a semester behind, so maybe that counts? Unless I get a lot of money to go to UNH, then I would definitely go there instead.

i doubt a 2.1 would get you into UVM unless you have outstanding test scores a reasoning behind it for the admissions board. UVM gets more academically intense every year. they had 19000+ applicants for the class of 2011. basically, its getting more difficult to get in.

all i want is a beer but i have no money. and 30s are like $16.39 on sale. the fuck is that bullshit. at uconn its like 13.50 for a 30. so at uconn a 30 is $15 and a uvm its like $20. its a difference.
