UVM '11

fuck uvm

I'm a little bitter about being waitlisted there. I'll send you guys a postcard from Boulder though.

I wouldn't get yourself too down about it colleen, a lot of reallly good students got waitlisted. patrick langan blows me out of the water in school, but he was waitlisted.

it definitely depends on more than just grades... i know a ton of kids who got into UVM who have a B- or even C+ averages. they definitely look at other things like extracurriculars, course selections, and essays too, so if you arent sure if you can get in, you probably can.

Hmm, Jack, Katie, and Elle all in the same state as me. I can see that I'm going to be spending a lot on alcohol! Gotta show you kids the ropes to college.

i dont know who that is but its good to know other kids are getting waitlisted there too. im still kinda worried since uvm was supposed to be one of the easier schools i applied to.

fuck you colleen, ditching me for the 'real' snow.

i got into uvm, and i wanna go, but my parents would rather me to go to unh, because its closer

fuck you lev for getting into uvm.

if for some reason I can't go to Boulder, I might be at St. Mikes and if that's the case then I'll see you homies in burlington.

I really want to go, it's either go there, have fun skiing and living in burlington, pay and have a ton of student loans, or stay here in shitty rochester, new york and go to RIT for basically free(My parent works there). Shit

Then go dude! Who cares if you have to take out loans. Most people do and most everybody else is able to pay off those loans. If you want to do something, DO IT! Don't live your life thinking, "Oh I should have done that."

I have a 3.6, unweighted and I got in. Assuming that your GPA is on a scale of 4 and is unweighted, you should be all set as long as you do alright on the SATs and do some extracurricular stuff.

He posted earlier on saying he got waitlisted.

It's really hard to say, "you will get in if you have this as a gpa and you do this well in school." By all conventional logic, I shouldn't have been accepted, but my extracurricular, and citizenship stuff sealed the deal for me

i didnt have the attention span to read the first 50 posts.

and ya extracurricular stuff helps but sometimes its as little as what major you choose. i was undecided and there could have been a huge group of kids that had better credentials than me that applied this year and if i had chosen something else then i mightve been accepted

yeah im a junior right now but uvm is my first choice i wanna go wicked baddd.. haha i hopefully ill bring up my gpa so i can get in whatsa good sat score to get into uvm?

jeah.. I'm Pat Langan, If i dont get into UVM this time around i think ill be going to UB or UNH for a year then transferring to UVM after freshman year... I also got into Champlain if I'm really feindin to be in Burlington

Political science, maybe a little pre law, some philosophy, and I'm interested in psychiatry so I want to dabble in that a bit

yes champlain is a really good school and its continually improving. one of my friends goes there and he loves it.

yeah I visited UVM and Champlain when I was in Burlington and liked them both a lot... its going to be a tough decision, but I can assure you all that if I'm not accepted form the waitlist (which is likely) ill be trying to transfer into UVM sophomore year from wherever I end up.. its insane i already know like 15 people that are going to be freshman at UVM, and a few Jr's there too.. the NS community is pretty huge in Burlington it seems

yeah, i've heard that tons of FM'ers are going to uvm. That would be dope if you transferred into uvm next year if you aren't accepted this year. the year would be off the hook
