Utah or colorado

I haven't even ever left the midwest, but based on my very unknowledgable opinion I'd so CO because of summit county mang. so many legit mountains to hit up pretty close. lots of dif terrain too.

but i haven't been to either so don't take my response too seriously..

oh god, not one of these.. "utahs powder is lighter than colorado!" "no! utah has pussy resorts and mormons!" thread

when are u going over x-mas break or just a random weekend, its a win win either way, i have to say i never enjoyed UT that much, i have no real reason, but i just dont, i think its because i got mugged by a crack head in SLC, Co is real fun for everything, where would u be going in CO

well colorado has dope parks and decent terrain (vail) but utah has a park that is just as good as all the CO parks, and way better terrain.

look at who has better snow

that makes the biggest difference

parks are pretty close

utah has super nar terrain but CO mountains are 5 times as big

but if one has way more snow then the other go to the one with the snow

it depends how good of a skiier you are, because if you are from the midwest or east you might not enjoy histting some of the really crazy stuff that utah has to offer because most stuff in colorado is awesome terrain but not all that steep

colorado has a better scene, sunny skies, and better parks. utah has more snow (except for this year), a shitty scene, and mormons.

mormons are everywhere in utah, but you can avoid them. i would recommend which one is better for what you will be skiing because you are with your dad.

utah and co is too crowded, go to hood. and this whole mormon thing is stupid. they number in the 40% range of the total population now. If you want to drink, there are more than plenty bars, liquor stores and house parties to get you by. and the 4bi9 house. there is always the 4bi9 house. from what i hear.....

The mormons are actually a good thing sometimes. Like on Sundays it's not as packed as other days so it's kind of a plus.

Utah > Summit county.

if your choice is between those two, go to utah, if you're going somewhere in CO other than summit county you'll be fine either way.

hahahahaha, but seriously...utah is so gay that you should probably just never think of ever going there. i mean there are people with weird religious beliefs there! oh my!!!!!!!!

Crested Butte, Abasin, Telluride, wolf creek, durango, parts of keystone and breck, silverton....there are plenty of steeps

park city doesn't compare to breck or keystone, though it's about as good as vail or copper which are the second tier parks here, but utahs terrain blows colorado out of the water.

colortah, ski the fucking border.

But real it doesn't matter where you as long as you have snow, try planning your trip around snowfall

So you're saying that people from the midwest and east automatically suck at skiing huh... garuntee you we shred harder than you.

are you retarted? why would ever think of going to utah or colorado when you can come down to dirty jersey and ski at mountain creek! our powder is sooo sick and we have the best park here

oh wait youre from jersey i just looked at your profile.... haha, just stay here and ski anyways its so much bigger and better than colorado or utah

doubt it, i mean its good to be motivated, but you also have to look at the reality of your situation. Kids in Colorado and Utah have access to the worlds best terrain parks and ski them on a daily basis, the best features that are built the best.

You dont have 50-65 degree terrain at every other montain. And or the vertical rise. People in Colorado rip all over the mtn because of the varying terrain. Great parks and great inbound steeps/cliffs/powder/pillows/chutes/etc. While not everyone in Colorado skis these, they still have parks like Breck, Keystone, Copper, Winter Park, etc. Point being it sucks being in your shoes because you dont have daily access to this. But it also gives these kids a way larger chance then being a decent amount better than you.

I know kids from the mid west that do rip harder. But its a really big claim to come out in a Colorado/Utah thread and say that ALL midwest kids rip harder than kids from Colorado and Utah.

just to go with jeff_lo's comments...ive taken people from pc to alta and it was hectic. no need to have this whole regional battle, its each skier on his own that should decide. on the thread topic note however, both states are pretty rad, i live in utah and ski at alta...i have a blast doing it. everytime i go to CO to ski...i have a blast doing that as well. your still going to ski a different resort than what you do at home...and thats really all that matters when your going on vaca right? just flip a coin on the deal and its all chill.

not another east vs west battle...east puts out the best park skiers period, look at where half the ams and pros come from, if you can ski shitty icy parks all the time then when you can get onto a perfectly groomed park with any feature that you could imagin your gunna go off. If you live at or go to the right mountians on the east you can have almost the same type of skiing as out west just not as often, no your not going to get the lake chutes in new york but NY powder is crazy nice when we get it.
