Whats up guys im headin to the U next year and im pretty stoked about it. Any other kids gona be freshman next year. im also currently in the process of lookin for a room mate and i think it would be pretty cool to room with an NSer that is down for the same stuff i am skiing, drinkin, partying same old good stuff.

and to any one that goes to utah any other info that you think would be good to know? i basically searchbarred as much as i could and read all the threads but if you guys have any random shit that youve learned while living there it would be sick to hear.
 
live in utah but dont go to the college i have friends that do and it seems like a pretty sick place though. good luck here pretty sick place to live imo
 
in connecticut there really damn bad too. package stores arnt open on sundays and they close at 9 every other night. its nice being next to hartford though, we have a wide variety of which packys we can go to at any time that dont card you.
 
They really aren't the bad at all, they are so talked up and overexaggerated. Utah has some real cheap liquor prices and beer is fairly priced. 3.2% weight = 4.0% volume and any normal "light" beer in any other state rarely exceeds 4.5% and keystone light (which SO many kids drink) is 4.2%, .2% more than utah beer.
 
yea thats what ive read all over this site. so you need to drink one extra beer to drink the same amount? i dont think thats bad at all
 
if you try to drink the same amount here the first time you drink as you drink in CT you will black out for sure. the elevation owned me for sure
 
alotta bud + alotta drink = blackout...the beer still gets you drunk for sure

place is sick i'm doing my first year out here right now...so stoked
 
Yeah, coming from CT you will hardly notice a difference in liquor laws. You can get gas at gas stations here in Utah; however, much fewer liquor stores to choose from. But in all honesty, I hope you aren't basing your college decision on full strength beer.
 
If your worried about not being able to get drunk, just buy a wine bag. They provide plenty of fun. Eheath approves.
 
room reservation is on 3/12. still looking for a roommate and i think i need one to reserve a room. im thinking im gona go for chapel glen, 803 or 804? any first hand opinions on which one i should go for.

and i dont think ill have any problem finding greenery haha
 
o and are there any legit places you guys know of in salt lake to pick up a fake. theres a couple decent places here but if theres a good one i would save my money until i got out there

I've already been accepted, and now just trying to decide between the U and Purdue. Does anyone know how much of a difference its going to make on applications when they look at where I've graduated from?
 
if you get good grades at the U you will get a good job for sure, its ranked in the top 100 schools or some shit like that
 
go 803! way better than everything else. constant shenanigans going on here...and as heff said grab that room, he lives there now, nice and big....oh and try to get first floor. anything above when you get too blackout you need to take the elevator and it usually has pee, poop or puke in it.
 
if it is a possibility, bring a car. Parking passes are dirt cheap for a college. Public transportation works great for getting to class and downtown, but other than that you will want a car.
 
Yeah, the U doesn't have any stupid bullshit rules like not having a car. Like tits said, cars are clutch or else youre gonna be beggin or payin for rides to the mountain alot. You don't need the car for going to class really, but for going anywhere off campus you'll need it.
 
i'm in the middle of a huge issue about bringing a car
my mom thinks it will be too much bother to drive back to the east every summer, but i know i will want it desperately when i'm out in utah
what should i say to convince her
 
you're going to want to live out here to get instate tuition or else it's going to be way more expensive
 
alright word. my gramps, who is paying for my college, is convinced that i don't need to bring my car because i can take the trax to the mountain. i did that once and it was a massive pain in the ass.
 
You can't take it to pc, just tell him you need a car cause youre gonna get a job or something.
 
Oh man, don't go to Purdue. If you've never been to Indiana, I highly suggest not going there. Ever. It's seriously the world's biggest shithole outside of campus.
 
It takes at least 2-3 hours to get to the mountains by bus route. I haven't done it once.
 
ask her if she trusts you driving around in the snow more than other people. Because it snows here a lot. that works pretty well.
 
I've known several people that have gone to gonzaga and none of them have been into it. eff that. come to slc.
 
yeah, i was planning on visiting and stuff first, but screw it. it's either utah or washington at this point.
 
oh shit, you will make $$$$$$$$ coming out of U dub....tough decision do you want to have the most fun possible in the next few years or make a ton of cash after 4 years of rigorous school?
 
i dunno man. basically i'm guaranteed a very good paying job running my family's farm eventually. so i'm not necessarily considering UW for the money i could make. i think it's a really fun school also, and seattle is awesome. u of u does have epic skiing though, so i'm pretty torn.
 
Shit dude wish I would've seen this thread sooner, it wouldve been sick to room with an NSer. I already got my room a couple days ago and I'm just down the hall in room 110. Glad i'm not the only one who thought everything was complicated though ha
