wow, if i didn't know any better you'd have me thinking kovalchuk was jesus christ himself.
sure he's been great so far, but there's no reason to exalt him higher than guys like zetterberg, alfredsson, crosby, nash, and iginla.
your theory that he's carrying his team doesn't hold any water because he doesn't have a single game winning goal (!!!), and his team has shat the bed so far. yeaaah.
it's also plain to see that you're super emotional and fanatical over him directly after his back to back hat trick performance. but stop and think, he scored his first when ottawa was sitting on a 5-0 lead, and it was in a losing cause. he was scary good with that quick release, i'll say that without hesitation. but ottawa had already shut it down for the night. he also put in an empty netter tonight for the hat trick, so both were easy-ish hat tricks.
you want to see a player carrying his team offensively this year? look at somebody like alfredsson. 12 games, 11 wins, 9 goals, 19 points, 2 game winners. or try rick nash, 12 games, 7 wins, 9 goals, 15 points, 2 game winners. compare that to kovalchuk at 14 games, 5 wins, 12 goals, 19 points, and no game winners... and enough with the hype already.
