UEFA Euro 08

germany is it! a nice win against portugal. well deserved and now i look forward to germany - netherlands in the finals. but i am not sure if the netherlands can bring down italy in the semis (if both win their quarters)

i'm hoping for a germany-netherlands final, that'd be dope. i really just hope to not see italy in the finals..

I cant stand cockey fucking pussies. Shut the fuck up, chelsea will have gained loads of "glory hunting cockney cunts" since you won about 3 trophies. Thats all you lot can ever say.

Anyway, Germany were class tonight, bossed portugal.

that was absolute insanity. I was watching it with my brother and as soon as Croatia scored in the 119th, I told him that it was all over for them and that they would still lose to Turkey. And sure enough...

Penalty shootouts are the shit to watch when you don't care who wins or losses it. Overall an unbelievable game.

I'm kind of mad that i spent 120 minutes watching though when i could have turned on the TV for 5 minutes and seen all the goals and the shoot out. But whatever, thats just football i suppose

so when this tourny started my buddy goes "hey have you seen whats on espn2" i go no man just some stupid shit......

He goes I figured you would say such a thing. so he makes me start watching it and holy shit soccer is fucking awesome!

russia is my motha fuckin team (im not russian... is that ok? ;) )

but anyway Arshavin is my boy.... hes the shit. and the russian goalie is the man to!

well shit. who the fuck saw that coming?

since i don't really have any preferred team, i find it to be absolutely hilarious though i do feel bad for them, how does everything go so well then end so disastrously? All I can hope for is that Spain does the same to Italy.

And screw it, i want the Turks to win now

Yea seriously... I felt like this was the year for the orange guys

A Spain - German final should be in order now. I want Spain to win, but i don't really mind who does

maybe soccer gets more attention in the us due to that stuff. i think its a good sport. very different to american sports, thats maybe why it isnt that popular. its not as "hard" as american football, icehockey or even basketball, but there is one advantage: it begins at a certain time, and ends at another fixed time, only interrupted by A FEW breaks (throw in, free kick, substitutions or corners...)

american sports tend to be interrupted all 20 or 30 seconds. its another concept and i really like american sports, but soccer is the most famous sport all over the world and the us should def get a better team together.

btw, im from austria

haha! i love seeing Italy lose. Doesn't matter who beats them, just watching them get eliminated is hilarious. (only because i'm French)

go Turkey!

1- the french team is a joke so you should be embarrassed... turkey has absolutely no chance to even get close to scoring on germany, and number 8 on russia has the hardest shot ive ever seen so look for it next game. he took a rip from like 40 yards out and it was just over the crossbar

the French team is far from a joke, Raymond Domenech is just an idiot who doesn't know how to manage a team. (mainly select players for a tournament, why the fuck would you leave Trezeguet out?!) And i try not to be embarrassed by things i have no control over. Now if i let in a shitty goal while i'm playing, then i get embarrassed.

And I know Turkey has no hope, i know Germany will likely take it all, but my preferred team is out, so i'm just going with the under dog, i don't care who wins really, i just want to watch some more quality games. But the Euros are normally well known for underdog wins, though like someone else pointed out, usually not two tournaments in a row.

I also saw that guy on Russia, Kolodin was it? He wasn't that bad. But i'd say a 40 yard miss isn't that impressive, i know its not the same level etc etc but i've got a friend on my team who can take a shot from 40 yards out thats on target and has actually knocked over a keeper. (poor keeping by him i must admit) If it had gone in though, it would have been ridiculous so i understand what you mean

Word good game, that header collision was pretty crazy.

Whipped out the staple gun and stapled up his head on the field haha. The announcer was like, "And there is the staple gun, staple him up and off ya get, its the semi-final! and they are happy to do it!" haha

that didn't even look like a bad collision, and that staple gun looks like it would hurt a lot.

and good call by whoever it was that claimed Turkey wouldn't even get a look at Germany's net, so far they haven't done much but look at it.

I think one of the announcers pointed this out too; for neutral viewers this game has been pretty good so far.

sounds like it was a great end, shame no one could see it except for the last German goal. Overall a very good and entertaining game, and it reinforced my belief that Germany will win it all. The Turks had an amazing run, but it just wasn't going to happen
