haha i get out of school early to watch germany play today. haha told my mom i had an app. with Dr. Low. so my brother is picking me up and i get to skip school to watch the game.

haha, we'll just have to see. The Dutch are a strong team i'll give you that much. But France has proved itself to be a later bloomer lately in big competitions. (remember the shitty start to the World cup?)

Ha, I'm a passionate fan, and i'll take the challenge, but let's not resort to any sort of childish argument, regardless of result. It's bound to be an epic game. I think if the Netherlands win group C, they'll make it to the finals but will not win the whole thing

(and honestly, i was cheering for the Dutch vs Italy because i have a general hatred for the Italian team, any guesses as to why?)
 
France will hopefully be a different team and play well with Henry expected to be back on the field

as for Germany, they need to get Klose to be more productive in order to advance very far
 
well today is a huge day, especially for France and Italy. A loss for either of them will pretty much end their quarterfinal hopes. If the Netherlands win, they will almost definitely be through. A French win will put them at the head of the table and everything would pretty much come down to the last games, as far as i can tell.

France has been known for sucking in group stages against shitty teams (Korea, Switzerland in 2006?) but then can come up huge in important matches. But the Dutch have been playing extremely well, as is evident by their 3-0 win over Italy. As for Romania and Italy...i just don't see it happening for either. I'm hoping for a Romanian win in that game, and a French win. This will put France and Romania tied for the lead, with 4 pts, then the Dutch with 3, and Italy with 0.

I would love to see France and Romania advance because I'm french, and because no one (myself included) gave Romania any chance at all, and if they win anything, you can bet they'll have to fight like hell for it.

anyone watchin italy and romania? mad good game right now. still 0-0 42 mins in, but both teams have almost scored like 43455464 times. goalies are playin well

The dutch look pretty sick. They have a really strong attack, but their defense can be questionable at time. If the keep scoring like this through, I could see them going far. Go Netherlands!!
 
Thats what i like to hear im 75% Croatian and after how bad they did in the World Cup, it would be all the better for them to win.
 
no matter what has been, dschörmenie is going to win it. a bad game against croatia, yes, but we will kick out austria (although i live in austria). its going to be tight, but were gonna make it.

than portugal in the quarter finals, czech rep or croatia in the semis and than a nice win against "the enemy" netherlands
 
wow turkey absolutely amazing game in the 2nd half. comes back with 3 goals in the last 15 minutes after being down 2-0
 
ha, i was in Quebec at the time and actually missed the game! I was pissed, but oh well. Just makes this last game vs the Italian scum all the more important.

I have seen highlights etc though of the France game. I can definitely appreciate quality play, which is exactly what the Dutch had. Everything about their game is solid. Should France drop in the group stage, i will definitely be cheering for them. But as long as my France is still in there, i have to go with them. I have hope that they can salvage this.

I cannot believe this nonsense. Honestly, if there is one team in the world that I cannot respect under any circumstances, it's Italy. Followed closely by Manchester United, but i'd say Italy still takes it. The Netherlands i could respect because they played a solid game, and i can appreciate that, but not the Italians. They play dirty and should be banished to antartica!

(ok, perhaps i'm just a bit mad, but i honestly find it hard to respect the Italians when i'm watching them play)
 
well that just straight up sucked. I'm re-entering a state of depression courtesy of Italy. I knew things weren't going to go well when Ribery was injured. Sad to see that it was Thuram and Makelele's last matches.

the thing i cant stand is the people around me who give me shit about it and claim to be Italian. Thanks, but just because some distant relative 400 years ago might have traveled through Italy does not make you a "full blooded Italian-American" (as they call themselves) but if i tell them this, they state the same about my French heritage. But i am a legit Frenchman, though i live in the US. I have a french passport, i can vote there, i can come and go as i wish. This the problem with football fans in the US around me i've noticed. They either support Man. utd, or Italy.

And then there's me, the France/Arsenal fan. Boy do i stick out

^I hate glory chasing Manc twats! They're everywhere! I also hate glory hunting cockney cunts, and dirty robbing Scouse historians. Then there's Arsenal fans who won't STFU about the ''total football'' they play.

Anyways, not surprising you like Arsenal if you're French. What did you think of the red card? In my mind it was a penalty but in no way a red, that just killed the game. I also hate refs who try to be bigger than the game itself, bunch of tossers.
 
The red card was absolute bullshit. Maybe a yellow, and obviously the penalty, but not the red card. That killed France. That and Ribery's injury ended it within a half hour.

Ha, I don't bring up total football (mainly because no one around here knows what that is) but i just like the way Arsenal play. I think France needs to sack Domenech and bring in Arsene Wenger.

But I would NEVER give a red card for that. NEVER! It just boggled my mind.

But what's done is done. The best player on the pitch today was Henry, what a first class finish.
 
haha, i sat there staring in awe at the TV when that happened. I cannot believe that a player like him did that. That was coupet's ball. (Coupet is another player who i don't like, i was always a huge Barthez fan)

I personally play as a keeper and it annoys the hell out of my when a team mate puts a little tip on the ball like that. Usually i have a good view of it and i'm already moving to make the save when some idiot puts out a toe and just fucks everything up
