Tyrolia Attack 13 vs Marker Griffon

Could you please tell me the reason?

Sure, the attacks are highly durable and really light. All parts of them are responive and overall they are a solid binding with a low price point which makes it better. ( I have four pairs of attack 13s). Markers on the other hand don't really do me too well. The heel pieces on marker bindings are super weird. It's hard to tell when you're fully clicked in and Ive had lots of problems with griffons in the past. Idk, in general id either go with Attacks, STHs, Axials/PXs, or FKS/Pivots.

Got it! Thanks mate =)

Gotcha man. Just remember, if you buy attacks without the brakes make sure to get the "A" brakes from tyrolia in any width. The "B,C, and D" wont work.

2nd for attacks over griffons for basically the same reasons.

attacks are lighter, just as durable and are much more reliable for releasing imo.

i've only had 1 set of griffons but have heard hundreds say about the not sure if you're fully clicked in thing with the heel piece, its super frustrating. Also, griffon butt is a real thing, it isnt nice....

Thank you bro =)

i had jesters a couple of years ago..and blew through two heel pieces over the course of two years. I bought attack 13s in 2013 i think and I have been riding them ever since and have had zero problems. I repeat zero problems.

so i say attacks...they seem to keep you in when you need it and release when you fall in that awkward spot every time.

Thank you for your recommendation. I will definitely go for ATTACKs =)

One more question, I shall get 110mm for Armada Edollo(it has 98mm waist) right? =)

no, id say get the 95mm brakes-- if you have to bend them out at all, it will only be by a tiny bit. 110mm brakes would be bigger than you want on a 98mm waist

evo.com stuff recommended 110mm :X damn, don't know what to do

Get a brake that is able to fit on your skis. If you get a 90 mm brake, just bend it out and if you get a 110 just bend em in slightly

i'm pretty sure the brake for the attack is 97mm. You wont need to bend it.

Griffons are a little sketchy. My boot moves inside the toe piece with the DIN cranked (professionally mounted and centered with the boot I'm in now). Not to mention they're heavy, and some metal parts were replaced with cheap plastic ones for 2017.

Tyrolia Attacks are light and durable so go with those.

The griffon is not heavy. Also, there pretty much weren't any metal pieces to begin with, don't know what they could replace.

That being said, the Griffon is not a good binding and the attacks are much better. Get a 95mm brake for the e-dollos

check your AFD height. It adjusts with an allen key.

I fit 97mm brakes on 2 or 3 of my 100mm width skis in the past without having to bend them and if you get the 110mm brake on such a narrow ski skiing switch your brakes can catch together I made that mistake not knowing what I was putting on a narrow ski. Don't make my mistake from years ago!

I know this thread is a couple years old, but I just bought some attack2 13's and I was reading through this thread, would you happen to know why only the A's work and not the other ones?

Only the A brake is designed to snap into the 13s heel track. The others are for the 11, adrenaline/ can't remember what else.

Pretty silly for two different brakes between the 11 and 13. Don't know why they did that

ok thank you

Since this thread has been dug out...

Has anyone tested recent Markers? Looking at the spec they're twice lighter now and praised for their heel pieces in some reviews (still trading off 7mm of stand height tho). So not sure how much of this 4 yo conversation is applicable now.

Any opinions?

I have heard better media reviews of the heelpiece recently but nothing strong from "real" people.

For me the issue was the tracker on the back. I'd butter and itd come off the front of it if I ejected

Gonna try revive this thread again as the 2021 griffons have been updated in a way that supposedly isn't just cosmetic. Has anyone mounted these yet, and any noticed improvements? Attack13s still the clear winner?

honestly they feel the same, minor update on heel piece, for most sking they will be fine, but plastic heel will not take the abuse a metal heel can provide on doing hard hits on rails/big cliffs/jumps

"easier stepin" seems somewhat overrated, but I never had trouble before either, my gf also got them no issues for her either

thanks for the quick reply + info, prolly gonna go with whatever I can get a discount on if the refresh doesn't change much

the attack 13 was on sale for €60 all summer on webstores here, so yeah, griffon was 10-20 more.

I know a lot like the attack, a lot like the griffon ;)
