I admit one of the more tantalizing features of twitter is that it allows you to follow certain professional athletes. It gives them a forum to discuss their training methods, thoughts on team events, and also allows us (the fans) to get some insight into the "every day life" of a pro.
It angers me when people try to tell their "fans" (or lemmings, if you will) how to live their lives. For example, when Oprah pushes "The Secret", or when Miley Cyrus thanks "Jesus" for letting her be a millionaire 16 year old.
Unfortunately, our society is very malleable, and they are especially susceptible to words spoken by celebrities. I hope these "celebrities" realize the impact their words spoken on twitter can have.
There are way too many people telling other people what to do today. There are books to tell us how to live our lives, news stations to tell us how to judge actions of others, etc.... People need to start thinking for themselves again.
