If it ain't broke then don't fix it, yet Republican legislators keep passing bills adding hurdles to vote. It doesn't matter how high/difficult the hurdle is because every new step is still an extra obstacle that will decrease turnout. My guess is that it could have to do with unpopular and regressive policies and consolidating power.

This spring because ya know abortion and weed will be the downfall of us all. They want to reinstate the special election that they specifically got rid of in a partisan vote. They want to reinstate it for the specific vote to require 60% majority on amendments. They want to get this done so it impacts the November elections. Fucked up for many reasons.
