Trump destroyed the republican party 8 years ago. Now there's no overarching power and unified platform. Individual republicans can do a lot of damage, but as a whole, the DNC is much scarier right now.

The DNC has an absolute stranglehold on anyone who wants to run as a Democrat. They prevent any other viable democrats from challenging their establishment picks and hold the party line at all costs. We could see this in the way they pushed Kamala through in 24 hours, preventing any kind of dissent. They did the same with the recall of Gavin Newsom, where 50 candidates challenged him, but not a single democratic politician would dare, even though it would have been an easy win. I'm not sure whether it's the clintons, pelosi, obama, etc. running it behind the scenes, but whoever it is gets to choose whichever candidate they want and we have no say in it. And because the democratic voter base has been so brainwashed with the "vote blue no matter who" and "it's (D)ifferent" mentality, it mostly works out for them.

It's odd how you have to be a member of one of two party corporations to be selected by electors or congress as EO of US inc.; it's almost like we were never a democracy.
